Cheeks was able to provide me with a code, woo. Big shout-out to the both you!

Yay! :)

How can Microsoft let this bunch of amateurs run their online store presence for an entire continent?

The cynic in me says that they wish to 'encourage' customers to sign up using their credit card. It's so convenient!

I do not like this cynical voice in my head though so I've just given it a slap and told it to go back into its box and not to trouble me again for the rest of the day.

MS finally shipped my order, too.
Do they also use UPS for deliveries outside the UK? They could just have sent me the code via e-mail. Would have been cheaper for them, too.....

I just saw that Amazon DE offers the Wifi Vita for 199€. And you get a free 8GB Memory Card and a 15€ discount on a selected game with that, too.

So where's my ambassador program, Sony? These Vita deals are crazy.
So tempted but I will wait to see what Sony show at E3. So far I am interested in only LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, Gravity Daze and SFxT. Hopefully by Christmas there are bundles going for £180 including a game and 8GB card.

I just got a email from Microsoft saying that it has been sent, but the order status on the website says "Delivered". Strange.

edit: the order status is delivered, but the item status is shipped, is it like that for anyone else. Also, how long does it take for UPS to deliver usually?

That's what it says when it has been shipped, you'll likely get them tomorrow.

First actual bargain I've found in GAME for a long, long time:

Ocarina of Time for a tenner. Can't argue.

Evidently, it's only for games without their original packaging. Unfortunately, I couldn't find Starfox 3D at 50% off. What a world.

I've always wondered how people lose the boxes but often manage to retain the instructions and other papery goods within.

You wouldn't want to have SF without it's interior box art anyway, it makes nice use of those gaps in the box....well okay you probably would.

For those still waiting, I received my 4200 points today from Microsoft. Ordered mine on the 6th or April and I didn't get a dispatch email or any mention of a tracking number.

Hopefully everyone else's will show up soon.

I suspect that its the case which is so badly damaged that the artwork is probably torn away with it; I've had a couple of second-hand game purchases in the past that would suggest that people seem to have a hard time keeping their cases in working order.

Mine just showed up chaps. Ordered on 5th April .. delivered just now. 2100 point card and redeemed. I will now block that Microsoft Store from my memory banks and sit waiting for Trials.

My points were finally shipped yesterday and just got a call saying that they will arrive today (so one day from wherever they shipped to here, Finland). Ok, maybe it's just me but isn't that kind of ridiculous? Using UPS to deliver something the size of an envelope? Something they could literally send through e-mail. Oh well.

Must be a bitch, that contract between UPS and Microsoft Store that forces them to use UPS for everything.

It's completely ridiculous, emailing codes would have solved all the problems people are having. Although judging by the fact that the person I spoke to on the phone from the MS Store didn't even know what MS Points were, there's not much hope of them making logical decisions like that any time soon.

Someone was saying a few pages ago that Zavvi doesn't use a good £ to euro conversion; just wanted to confirm that my order has now been dispatched to Holland even though I paid in £, so you might save a few quid that way. I did have a UK VPN active at the time though, and I paid using a UK card, so those might be important factors too.

Do the points delivered by UPS have to be signed for? I've had no news from my GF if mine have turned up yet, and she's now at work till 7pm, so no-one will be in if they come this afternoon.

Ah, I see, thanks Mr Sam :). I'll pop in next time I am in town.

EDIT - isn't Starfox pretty cheap nowadays though?

EDIT2 - hm, apparently not.

I am pretty sure it has been available at some online outlets where they have reduced the price to clear their stock [I assume] though. I got it at launch though so I can't say I have paid careful attention to its pricing.

Actually what I said was that they did too good a £ to euro conversion. :-)
Unlike for example The Hut, they seem to be adjusting their euro prices almost every time the £ rises.

Last week the MGS HD Collection was £49,95 and 59,95 euro, yesterday it was 61,45 euro and today it's 62,45 euro with an unchanged £ price.

If you pay in £, the conversion profits go to your bank / credit card company, so either way you "lose".

I've decided to stop using shopto.
They sold me a gears of war 3 bundled copy as new and yesterday saints row 3 german edition turned up.
I know that their games turn up a few days before release but they're selling imported more and more.
Back to amazon for me.

Ok folks... anybody know where the best deal is for some instant Xbox Live Points? I'm looking to pick up Fez, but I don't want to get fucked over on points card prices :) Looking to pick up 800/1200 :)

They do tell you on the item's page that its the EU version, to be fair.

Selling SR3 German instead of the regular SR3 version could be considered fraud, because the German version is modified censored compared to the rest-of-EU version.

This version seriously bombed of course, because everyone and their dog bought the uncensored version.

This happened to a friend of mine as well. He actually liked em before that, despite me badmouthing ShitTo constantly for the cc fraud problem I had a while back (hold on your reply button guys: no I don't care that they've seemingly turned it around now, too little too late and we've discussed it ad nauseam here, let's not start again).
As for SR3, he got the UK sku no problem, that I'm sure since he lent it to me, same for Binary Domain.

Btw, I'm happy that at least they're still banned here even if doesn't make a difference at all, with everyone posting their deals (dunno what the TOS says about that, but as long as people are advised on their shenanigans then it's their choice if they want to shop there nontheless).

Ah, gotcha. Well anyway, I guess that means you can pay in Euro or Pounds, whichever works out best at the time...

Edit: scratch that, I suppose most people don't have a UK and a foreign account :p

No, they don't need a signature. Just dropped through the door.

My point cards arrived about an hour ago.
The chap had me sign. No idea if they'll just pop them in your postbox if no one is in.

It's 2:30 and no sign of UPS, how late do they usually deliver until?

They just drop it through your letter box. I wasn't in when they came to deliver it yesterday, and they just put it through.

Mine came at 16:45, and as no-one was in they left them with a neighbour.

Looks like they definitely wanted a sig, or they would have just put them through the letterbox.

Seems they'll turn up in several different ways depending on the area, and will turn up any time.

Don't know if this code is unique to my account or not, but quote to reveal a 10% Zavvi code in case it's not:

10% discount code excludes electronics, computing, consoles and pre-orders and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers e.g. multi-buys. Max discount of £10. Discount code is valid until 31st May 2012.
