"Chick Logic"

I stopped reading once it became obvious the essay was a long winded rant written by a permavirgin. It reeks of bitterness, nacho cheese, and Star Wars collectable figurines.

Holy shit Netmapel, you're pretty sheltered. Honestly, how can you defend the said situation in the essay? What kind of friend, let alone girlfriend, ditches her partner to get in a building? It's not that she was cold, it's that she went off with some other guy and *ditched* her own boyfriend. She didn't even try to get him in with her.

Grow up. What are you trying to prove by telling me you "STUDY" and you're in second year uni, group effect, etc. :lol

Please exercise some of that superior logical function you're supposedly in the possession of by reading the bolded portion of my post again.

SO the woman logically put on a short skirt on, and shirt with her nipples hard as a rock, pokin through like tic tacs seran wrapped to a pole, b/c she was expressing logic. Subsequently, stickin them out and shakin her azz to get something to better herself. Yes, for her; t'was logic.

ANd according to you, Men are the pieces of sh1t at Mardi Gras b.c women show there tits for beads. I see... men just shouldn't ask anymore.

Anythings logical, as long as a woman is doing it. :lol :lol

I've got some great news for all of you. Men and women don't think the same way, I know it's a totally new concept but I think it will catch on. I'm actually kicking around the idea of writing a book called Men are from Jupiter, Women are from Saturn

:lol

Great post!

While I don't agree completely with this "report" I don't think you can blast it for it's lack of evidence. I mean for God's sake, it's not meant to be scientific or factual AND IT DOESN'T HIDE THIS EITHER. It's merely stating a personal viewpoint backed by personal responses and experiences.

And Waychel, while I agree this is more than enough to piss any female off you yourself are making pretty broad generalizations

If we're going to address the issue of emotion and instant gratification in sexual psychology, then why not address the fact that most college men are predisposed towards 1.) basing their prospects in women off of physical rather than intellectual attraction and 2.) are most concerned with finding a girl who will "put out" early on in a relationship rather than looking to find a relationship of actual integrity and long-term potential?

Men choose women for physical attraction? Well, women do as well. I would also add that there are women out there who seek men merely for their wallets. Yes, I know men go GAGA over women with big tits, but dammit if I don't hear women talk about a man's "package" as well.

Most guys I knew were not concerned with finding women who "put out." Perhaps women NOTICED these guys more, but there are a lot more of them out there who ARE looking for the same thing.

Anyways, I think the writer of the essay is still a whiner with nothing better to do than blast females. I particularly like how he starts with logic and then concludes that this affects marriages. :p All in all a very poor transition. As for the reason why it was published? Perhaps women can get a look into the minds of crazy men? Or guys can objectively see how whiney we can be? It doens't HAVE to be about what the essay's about.

After all...Moby Dick is not really a story about catching a whale...

Like I already said, I am not defending the girlfriend's action, in fact, I don't approve of it as well. I am just saying the guy shouldn't label her as some sort of attention whore. Maybe she's just a bit cold blooded and only thinks for herself, in which case, the title "attention whore" does not apply to her. The whole point of this "report", as far as I can understand, is that "attractive women" are all attention whore. It also imply women in general seek immediate gratification. Both of which are terribly wrong as I have suggested with my personal experience, and also my friends. As for the whole "group effect" thing, the "report" suggested that girls all think alike. Well, no kidding. It's a phenomenon known as "group effect", which states that a group may work towards a same goal or whatnot, even if certain group members may secretly disagree. The people who disagree will usually not state their disagreement because of the pressure from the group. Therefore, the whole "girls think alike" statement is quite pointless, as the group effect can apply to both all-men, all-women or mixed group.

Yes. And it was probably showcased to the class to get discussion going, as did here. It gets men and women going at each other, emotionally. Just what the professor wanted.

How is a hot woman flirting with an officer to get out of a ticket representative of all women? Furthermore, how is the officer making an exception for a certain type of woman not disenfrancising to all other women who either are not priveledged to the same appeal or happen to have some basic sense of decency about them? Women are individuals; we're not some collective like the Borg, for Christ's sake. LOL

What we're discussing here is LOGIC and not tactic. If the officer falls victim to the lewd tactics of some promiscous women, then it is the fault of his own (lack) of logical function more than anything else. The officer is the one responsible for using his discretion to be just in the situation; not the women. The officer's obligation is to act in the interest of the community; but this is not the case for the women.

I must say that I not only find this example weak, but the argument posed with it ridiculous. THe shortcomings of the officer (who is the only one responsible for using LOGIC in this situation) are entirely ignored by the lot of you. Not only that, but you somehow contribute the officer's individual lack of logical reasoning as being a fault not of his own, but of the women's choice of apparral. If men are so much more superior to women in logical function, then I must say that the course of this topic does not show for any of it.

However, I am sure that the types of girls that the author of this post continues to enjoy the company of would be more than delighted to hear that by your standards, the hours they spend in the closet/bathroom before going out are a "logical" function/act/process of their behavior. ROFL!!

I'd just like to clarify that I did address this point in my original post:

The author picks "beauty over brains" and then has the audacity to complain when the day is done that his choices are lacking cognitive ability and priority. *** Clearly, the most LOGICAL course of action for this individual is to find a solution to the problem; that being the adjustment of his CHOICES in women.

I never said that there aren't shallow women. My point however was that it is our discretion that makes us choose a shallow person; and that goes for both men and women.

What the hell sort of "Professor" would use that essay as an example for his class? That hardly seems of a university or college standard. Its just a shallow ignorant male rant.

One and a half practically irrelevant anecdotal examples of poor female behaviour and suddenly there’s a battle between logic and emotion

"As the collegiate female community continues to fall apart, I’ll be having fun at the next big party whispering “I told you so.”

How sad. This person is trying to suggest he’s had substantial experience with woman?

Stereotyping and mocking the female sex is supposed to be done in an amusing fashion, that essay wasn't funny at all. I'm disappointed, not even a joke about women being terrible drivers.

This is very true point. Afterall, what kind of professor would use any essay with such obvious bias as a basis for much of anything in their classroom? How is this in any way "educational" when there is no counter-argument submitted from a female perspective being represented? Obviously, the professor wasn't thinking very logically in considation of educational interest if he only represented one view (that being a male one with little logical basis to it in the first place).

I'm somewhat doubtful that any professor actually used this in a class as source material, though.

Did that guys essay really all boil down to "Guys will do anything for pussy and chicks know it?"

I love how you guys selectively read this stuff. The title specifically states "College Women", and I don't see attention whore anywhere in the essay. Of course these are stereotypes and generalizations, but the simple reality is that most attractive women can/have/will be this way. If you want to hold your ears and sing "Koombiya", go ahead. Clueless guys do contribute, however, with the free drinks, gifts, and whatever supplicative behavior. Hell, I'll even paraphrase a convo I heard last week in class by 2 random girls that falls in line with this discussion.

Chick1: Yeah, so I don't know if it's going to work
out with BF.
Chick2: Why not? What happened?
Chick1: Well you remember last month when I made out
with those 3 guys?
Chick2: Yeah.
Chick1: Well I told BF about it yesterday.
Chick2: What happened? What did he say?
Chick1: He says that he wants to be able to do the
same thing and make out with 3 other chicks.
Chick2: Are you serious?
Chick1: Yeah and he also wants me to stop smoking. I
can't believe him!
Chick2: What do you mean?
Chick1: I thought that when I told him about those
guys I made out with, he would be like, "Oh I'm so
glad you told me. Now I know I can trust you and we
can be together"
Chick2: Yeah.
Chick1: That's why I told him, cuz I thought that's
how he would react.
Chick2: Of course.
Chick1: Yeah, it's like I just made out with those
guys just for fun, it didn't mean anything. But now I
have a anxiety attack everytime he goes out to party
with his friends. I don't know if he'll make out with
other girls. I only did it for fun, but he might
actually fall in love with one of these girls.

Chick2: Yeah, of course.
Chick1: I can't be in a relationship like this.
