Chris Chan is reaching out to indie game developers to make a Sonichu game

What a fucking cop out of an excuse. You know as well as I do that all it is going to do is make him even more ostracized.

Once more, I will echo sentiments: this thread should have never been made. All it does is simply give more fuel to the fire that Chris-chan is somebody to be mocked. Openly, and without consequences.

You don't have to curse at me because the information that's been in the OP since the beginning doesn't fit the argument you're trying to make.

Yeah, let's disregard all of his ambitions in life because of the possibility that he'll be trolled (which as I explained, isn't likely the way he's planned it). He has a right to exist and try to get his game made just like any other person on this board or on this planet.

No, it's actually in the OP

I understand how people can get defensive and try to shield him any time his name pops up, but you have to understand that he's entitled to live his own life. As I've said before, I want him to realize his dream and get his game made. To anyone planning to troll him I thought I made it clear in the OP that you're not going to get far. He was trolled by people posing as game devs long ago which is why he's asking for only experienced indie devs which he will vet.

Geeeee... it almost sounds like he's learned from past mistakes and doesn't need your help (or hindrance) to get in the way of making his game.

He does have some child-like tendencies and vulnerabilities at certain times and for certain subjects but you have to remember that he is an adult. This is a guy who has lately been spotted going to bars on his own and he manages to get himself home safely. He's learned a lot and has even matured since he became known.

This is one of the few times he's actually shown some foresight and is approaching a project while taking precautions to make sure he doesn't get taken advantage of. He is an adult with a disability but he has his own life and ambitions and a lot of people's "help" isn't helping him reach his goal right now.
To hell with shielding him/her. I don't know or care about him/ her on a personal level.

My issue is the direct choice to ignore the proper use of the name he/she goes by, for consistency just isn't a good reason to not use the proper name (or in the case of Transwomen) not use proper nouns.

This is also a problem, but considering that the subject in question seems to selectively choose what he goes by, it's a hard call to make sometimes. But I do agree, he should be referred to she.

If anyone needs to open their eyes, it's the people who wish to coddle Chris Chan like a child and force him back into the shadows. Making a game could be a breakthrough in his life.

The article includes an autistic man named Aaron Winston who, not unlike Chris Chan, wanted to make his own game.

Guess what? His dream came true, he did make his own game, Space Ape. You can buy it right now. I did.

And he seems to be pretty happy about what he's accomplished too.
"This is the right environment for me, and I want to stay at nonPareil for years," he said. "They gave me a career."

Designing his own game has the potential to become one of the most successful things Chris could ever do.
"These are often intelligent people who can persist, and persist, and persist, without being distracted," Dr. Gary Goldstein, chair of the Autism Speaks scientific advisory committee, said. "It’s hard for most of us to sit and do hours of coding, even if we’re capable of it."
...

"Quite frankly, it would be a waste to have guys like the ones working for us, including my son, bagging groceries," Andy Aczel, the co-founder of Specialists Guild, said. "They can blow people away. These are very talented people."

I'm not even going to respond to the he/she pronoun argument because I gave my reason for consistently referring to him as "Chris Chan" if Chris ever did come to this forum I expect he'd be more offended by people treating him like a child who needs to stay home instead of as a 34 year old adult who's trying to have new experiences.

I like this post. How's Christine ever going to progress or move forward if the consensus is 'Everyone leave her alone'?

Getting a Sonichu game made would be a dream come true for her, even if it would need to be rebranded in order to be commercially released. She is seeking to make that dream a reality and looking for help doing so. I don't see how bringing that to the attention of Neogaf is a negative thing at all.

Good on you, OP, and good luck Ms. Chandler.

So you admit that you know what you are doing is wrong and just choosing to not even engage it?? What the hell is this kinda crap.

Chris Chan is not normal, he's a high functioning autistic man and he was never given any sort of help or treatment. It's very clear he doesn't fully comprehend anything he does. It's sad that instead of trying to get him the help he needs people kept on pushing him on. you can claim I'm a jackass but, it's the truth he needs serious help but, assholes keep egging him on and harassing him.
