I only saw Dogma once soon after it came out. I should probably watch it again. The other three I have seen countless times.

Still remember going to see Clerks 2 with the family and getting to the Donkey scene at the end. Good lord, that was hard to watch! . I’ll probably watch the 3rd one just to close this whole thing out and move on.

For me its all about Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy. Dogma was funny but it felt a bit preachy to me. Everything after that might as well not exist.

If Clerks 2's ending was the hopeful ending, then Clerks 3 is the depressing one. Dante's life was really fucked over in this one.

Dante’s death

seemed to be the metaphorical death of the universe itself. Plus everyone’s old now and either too cringey or not able to bring it like they used to- I was disappointed by Brody’s lack of bite in the last movie lol.

I loved the first two Clerks and the TV show. I guess I love the banter between Dante and Randall which is what makes those movies/shows. This had very little of that back and forth. Probably because of

Becky and Grace’s death, which left Dante depressed and done with life. This made his death all the more expected as it’s the ultimate ending to the universe.

Plus, I hate how Smith’s daughter is in every movie now. The scene at

made no sense since we have never seen her interact with the main characters until that moment. I’m probably jaded since I saw her at Smith’s book signing for the Jay and Silent Bob reboot script and she was being a piece of shit constantly complaining about being there.

Clerks III is the film that proved to me it's possible to suffer audiological and ocular rape without any physical contact. The only comparable experience is an asshole full of manic hornets attempting to sting their way out of the vessel they've found themselves trapped in.

I started to watch this on a flight. I couldn't even finish it. So maybe I can't fully comment on it. As a huge fan of the first two movies, this one was literally a rehash of the first two. It felt so very pointless. They could have done so much more. Hell, just shooting it similar to the original in black and white with an original script could have been good. They came up with an excuse to do the tired "let's make a movie in a movie". And the movie was about the first two movies. Wow. So lazy. Several shots were directly from the first movies, but with the actors now 30 years older and fatter. Not really an improvement. Proof that Kevin Smith is washed up and out of ideas.

I think the only things I liked of his were Mallrats and Clerks 2. Both had really stupid comedy that mostly clicked with me.
