CM Punk tells all about walking out of WWE (podcast)

It's funny because if CM Punk decided to come back, he has a better chance at main eventing WM now than he ever did.

I think that's what he wants. To be the part-timer that can come in and do whatever they wanted like Lesnar, Rock, etc. He mentions it when talking about sponsorships. At that part I thought there was a definite possibility of him returning but then we got to the end about being fired on his wedding day and welp...

I wish I could get the full thing to play but it always craps out on me at some point.

And I don't see Punk doing well in MMA, could be wrong but I just don't see it.

Though if they give him a mic he'll be gold.

The WWE has always struck me as a very classless organization.

There is a lot of stories about racism within the company, and they treat a lot of their employees and wrestlers like shit.

Sadly, it's professional wrestling as a whole. No unions, people constantly fighting for spots, I mean shit, they didn't even have guaranteed contracts before Nash and Hall. Nash talked about how he had an old 'contract' with Vince when he was at the WWE that was guaranteeing him 4 CHANCES at making like 400 dollars an appearance.

It's one of the scummiest entertainment venues out there, and pretty much everyone in it gets gobbled up by it or their career goes nowhere. And it's not just WWE, Japan, Independents, a lot of dark shit with stiffing pays, no showing, conspiring for more money. It's like a constant 'who can fuck who' contest.

That'll be the plan. He's there to bring in eyes, both Punk and whatever MMA organisation he will be working with understand he isn't Lesnar. He has been a wrestler his whole life, MMA for him is likely to be a passion project similar to writing comics.
His comics might be fucking awful but it's something cool he wanted to try, good on him for giving it a shot.

He had a fever for months and no appetite. WWE doctors gave him so many antibiotics that he had an accident in the ring on SmackDown, all while watching his paychecks shrink. He said it was the worst he's ever felt in his life.

:/

He said wrestling Ryback took "20 years off his life" and described Ryback as "steroid guy..

I can see that.. He is very unsafe.

After deliberately not pushing Ryback because of the safety issues, they're now pushing him again because they don't have anyone else.

Can't believe I listened to all 2 hours..

I hope he does UFC if he's actually considering it. I quit WWE mid-2000s and came back around 09 mainly because of him, so i'll definitely follow him if he goes into that.

He would just be Kimbo Slice 2.0 if he ended up in the UFC. It would be interesting to see him in a season of the Ultimate Fighter though. From one mentally taxing situation to another.

-He had a concussion and what would turn out to be a staph infection that WWE doctors refused to treat because he'd be out of action.

This is pretty fucked up. Untreated concussions can kill and refusing to treat the staph infection?

What the fuck...

Punk should go to New Japan. The money is good and the schedule allows way more time to heal up and get back to your wife than the WWE does. Yes it’s a more physical style but the off time surely works out better.

If not why not give MMA a go? The hardest thing for pro-wrestlers going to MMA is the whole getting hit in the face, a pro-wrestler can train in BJJ, catch wrestling etc and get very proficient but the whole being hit in the face is alien to them.

Nobody should be surprised by Vince. That guy is the devil!!

Ryback comes across really poorly in this. Like, he's the only guy who comes across like a bad person. Even Triple H and Vince are about what you would expect.

Indeed, he broke his ribs and never apologized... the fuck is that shit.

I don't know why you'd want him to do it if he'd be terribly unsuccessful at it. He should go to another wrestling promotion, maybe Japan. Stick to what he does best.

Did you not listen to the same interview I listened to? He clearly has no interest in ever wrestling again. It's a shitty business.

I'm all for people doing something that interest them. Why not venture out and try to be good at something else? Rock looked like shit in his first dozen movies, should he have stuck to what he did best?

Wow... I've always thought Ryback was a shitty character, but it sounds like he's probably a genuinely shitty human being on top of that.

Maybe that's just me being too judgemental here, I dunno... but fuck that guy. I'd have sooner seen Curtis Axel get the (undeserved) push Ryback is getting right now tbh.

There are a ton of Ryback stories out there that just make him sound like a really stupid person. Maybe that's an image he has created to make his life easier.

Yup, he's never going to come back unless some massive change happens, which is why he'll never end up coming back.

As a wrestler hearing someone like PUNK talk in a interview like this while currently working for the company I wonder how it makes them feel..I wonder how WWE handles situations like this especially since all these guys could essentially leave anytime they want

Just finished it. Holy Shit! Just... Holy shit. This is probably going to be the biggest wrestling related story of the year.

He'll be back. Even the Ultimate Warrior came back, everyone comes crawling back because there literally isn't somewhere else to go.

Stressing out not being able to listen to this due to being in work.

Punk is the best, all time favourite and helped me realise a lot of things in my life.
I feel like i need to say thanks to him.

Best in the world.

Oh, there's places to go, but whether anyone cares enough to watch is another matter.

I've seen people on twitter this morning talking about how disgusting WWE's practices are in light of this podcast, but their reaction has been to hope for people to "boo the shit" out of HHH and Vince on TV and chant for CM Punk throughout the shows. Not to stop supporting the product, not to check out any alternatives and, most certainly, not to effect any real change by doing the one thing that matters in a capitalist society; voting with their damn wallets.

Disgusted but lets tune into RAW to see how the crowd reacts attitude. Same old. Same old.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

Do they even have that many Divas who are as popular as AJ (other than the Bellas?)

Erm Bella's aren't popular... even babyface Brieeeee mode kept getting booed so they had to turn her.

Maybe popular is the wrong word.

I know they were pushing Paige for awhile, but she still isn't on AJ's level of popularity.

(I haven't watched WWE for a month or two)

The real awesome part is how in the RR he was telling Rusev to do power moves to him and to not be scared that he will make him look good because Punk himself is popular. He wanted to help elevate the guy when he was scared. Punk is so legit and it's sad that WWE has basically killed something he loves so much. Also HHH knew he was getting married 2 days before hand and he got those papers sent out there so fast most likely out of spite. Shame HHH didn't like him. He beat the system and got to the top his way so you can tell he hated him for it. Also the 12 Rounds 2 story is gold. HHH looking out for his buddies XD

Medical stuff is disgusting but sounds like what you would expect from a corporation like that. Big reason why Medical Staff should not be affiliated with the company. Doctors n the payroll will always do what it takes to stay on the payroll.

I feel really bad for Cm Punk now. Vince & HHH are running that company to the ground.

What pissed me off was they wouldn't even treat a A Fucking Staph infection.

You can tell Punk's right because nothing that HHH says makes sense.

After deliberately not pushing Ryback because of the safety issues, they're now pushing him again because they don't have anyone else.
They pushed Ryback initially because Cena was out of action and they had no other viable face at the time to be a main-eventer at the TLC PPV. It was a rush job and it didn't help anybody. But they ended up botching his push as a singles, and turned him heel. Being a potential safety issue has no weight to that. Also he's gotten to become a better worker over the past year and a half.

The part about UFC is pretty funny. You see The King of Kings, The Cerebral Assassin, The Game, Triple H himself, come out with Biebs and Floyd Mayweather, but god forbid someone else does something similar. The WWE has always been throwing out their hypocrisy and double standards. It's a joke.

Ahahahah fuck this company

They had me for a good stretch, from Wrestlemania 30 (my first ever PPV, and holy shit it was good) to Extreme Rules, and then I fell off from boredom. Now I know 100% that the WWE deserves not one second of my attention, nor anyone else's.

lol Ryback

Where are these folks going to go? Mexico, TNA, ROH- you get paid peanuts.
Japan pays well, but only takes certain individuals.

It's clear WWE is being run into the ground. With Sting's debut and likely WM match the last thing I wanted from wrestling is gone. I've already stopped watching RAW, and the only reason I kept the Network was because a friend liked watching the PPVs.
