Don't dare to tell people how and when to be offended.
I was strongly suggesting that poster buy a thicker skinyou too.
Yup. Were it not for his previous statements, I'd be saying this is much ado about nothing. But it appears to be a continuation of bad sentiments...the fuck? he shouldn't be apologizing for those tweets. from the looks of this thread, he should be apologize for a lot of other things he said, though.

what the hell is an 'ish'?!?!?
I have a thick skin. I've had to deal with this bullshit for years. I've been called faggot, pussy, weak, etc for years. I've dealt with that and more with a "thick skin"
I have a zero tolerance policy for any disrespect coming from a homophobic place.
Fuck anyone that uses this as humor and thinks it's ok. I'm happy that this is now punished as the hateful speech it is. When you tolerate, or support, or defend this, you are fueling the atmosphere that teen suicide comes from.
what the hell is an 'ish'?!?!?
No, genius, you don't tell people that are offended by bigotry to "grow a thicker skin". You tell bigots to grow up and learn how to use their brains.
what the hell is an 'ish'?!?!?
Sounds like HE was getting a bit too excited by David Beckham to be honest.
Real concerned about such things, are you?
Your reading comprehension has failed you. There's nothing incongruous in those 2 statements.
It's no different to how they advertise to women. BUY THIS. LOOK LIKE THIS (or at least look a little bit like this). That H and M ad was pretty strange though
Were they targeting woman to go buy Beckham underwear for their spouses/sig. others?
There's only so much Backham a man can take..
I'm seeing this several times a day atm:

Don Lemon needs to whip Martin's ass...
I think it's homophobic to imply that a man who wears a pink suit is gay.
Is Don Lemon gay??
That would imply the person who said it is homophobic.
Of course Martin could well be homophobic, and I'm not saying you should say those things, but when I have heard similar things said, it is usually more an attack on their masculinity. It would be like calling a man 'a big girl'. It is more about behaviour or traits that you would usually associate with femininity.
It doesn't necessarily mean the person is really that concerned about it either. It could be just used as a form of banter.

Yes, and he came out publicly as such
saying a man shouldn't wear pink is homophobic?
gaborn said:When you're doing so because it's something "girly" considering the history of considering gay men effeminate? Yes. I can see why the connection might not be obvious to a person at first blush but it does speak to the same attitude that contributes to that. Although I have to say in fairness I wouldn't assume if that was ALL a person did that they were homophobic.
saying a man shouldn't wear pink is homophobic?
Okay, let's work this through. What reason would a person have to suggest that men should be mocked for wearing pink?

It does no such thing. A comment can be homophobic whether or not the person means it that way or is simply ignorant.
irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals
so they're an effemiphobe?
Wow, I had no idea. Him and Cooper are two of my favorite newscasters. What's awesome is that miscellaneous anchor women on CNN are always flirting with both of them, too.
I suppose so. I think the term has always been wrong to be honest.
by definition
Sometimes the words people say are subject to interpretation or intention. If we give homophobia a broader term rather than what the word actually suggests -- which would be an irrational fear of -- then yes, I suppose you could call a comment homophobic.
Not necessarily no. Again if used as a form of banter.
"Manhood" and "man cards" have nothing to do with being gay
I agree with him in his questioning of men that don't like sports. I find those people weird. I don't care who they are fucking.
