I always thought Ralph's karate was at best mediocre in terms of that weird stance, or posture. Then again, I think that was part of the charm for the character in original Karate Kid, because he really was supposed to be a novice learner.
However in Cobra Kai, him being in the seat of the "master", it's little bit silly - but I think my soft-spot for the original movie just made me think otherwise and let it go as some sort of Miyagi magic.
Looking forward the Terry Silver. I didn't enjoy KK2 nor KK3 as much as the original - but so far Cobra Kai has been quite excellent - would love to see the Brad Barns and quite possibly Julie too.
(I did re-watch the Next Karate Kid a few months back, but came out pretty disappointed though.)
