COD 4 Beta Thread

Congrats to those that just got in. In case anyone missed the posts, I think there will probably be a GAF game around 7pm PT tonight. I won't be on until later, but track down some fellow GAF people and have a good time.
 
Is there a way to get this beta?
I saw some videos and I felt in love with this game.

I went to the official site and did the registration.
Do I have any chance to download the beta in the marketplace?

The invites so-far have been "early" invites - just a relatively few lucky people.

The "real" launch is on Monday, and people have a good chance of getting into the Beta then.

I have to say this is getting pretty annoying. Half of the people on my friends list are playing it right now. Just let me in damn you.
 
Wait, when are they opening up the beta sign up? According to the clock it'll be sometime monday morning (ie. people with lives get fucked timing).

The best beta testers have no lives.
 
The only thing I really hate about the beta is that the connection (lag) problems seem to rival GoW, in regards to having to lead your target. Its especially obvious in the kill cam mode.
 
if you want to rack up some nice exp, wait til around 1am est when the n00bs show up. I went off for 20 kills in 1 game last night :lol
 
Things I hate -
.No team changing or evenessness if its unbalance so it can be 2 v 6 for some time till people join.

Inviting people to a party and only having up to six people? not actually able to have a party of 12 people..

and thats pretty much it...

I don't live in USA. Could I try to get an access using my other US account?

I'm sure the reason why you can't have a party of 12 is so that you don't have a full game of clan members/friends which could lead to stat padding etc.

vacancy looks ew in some places and :o in other places
 
Any GAFers on right now? I'm playing but have idiot teammates. I've noticed the knowledge and tactics of players is going down as more get into the Beta. Now, more people are cannibalizing each other's kills instead of working together.

OK. I just sent out about six friend requests to the people on the last few pages of this thread who posted their GT. I'll be on for a while hopefully. If anyone else wants to join in the fun. GT: Stantron. Let's Do This!
 
I am currently downloading the beta and will be online for a while tonight. GT is hgplayer1

Graphics are kind of a mixed-bag. I wouldn't say anything looks bad, but some of it is just..well meh. The post-processing effects are superb, and so are the animations. The Beta is clearly lacking AA, and everything isn't as clear as it should be.

However, this is a beta, and after seeing the singleplayer that looked amazing and ran at 60fps, I would expect the graphics to be leaps and bounds passed the Beta, come release.
 
So, are we going to try and get a GAF game going tonight? I assume we have enough people on here to get a full game going.

If you're using Yahoo it shows up in the bulk box so be sure to check that.
