I hear you! You guys are doing an admirable job. At least you know the demand is there! Personally, I'd rather IW deliver the tokens in Wonka bars. Chocolate; you can't lose.

And to echo Grecco, love IW and from the moment I saw this game...well, I vowed to give plasma if that's what it took. Beta or no beta.

Awesome. Now, at the very least, 402 seems as pissed off as most of us here. It may be a bit late, but I'm glad to see that IW is getting its shit together and, at the very least, trying to take care of its fans. Crisis barely averted.

So are the signups going on twenty four hours after the site opens, or twenty four hours from now?

YOU WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF, and we will make sure that everyone has an equal chance to get into the beta REGARDLESS of depending on the the site.

So here's the current plan. We are cracking whips and making sure the site gets back up and running. We're going to do away with the first come, first serve and are going to have open registration for 24 hours.

So whether you're able to get on the site within the hour, or log on at midnight tonight, you can sign-up and have an equal chance at a token.
We will then take that massive database of sign-ups over the next 24 hours, and distribute all available tokens to the members who sign-up.

We're doing everything we can to make sure this site crash does not effect your chances for Beta glory.

So keep the comments, emails, and calls coming guys, it's just fueling our fight to make sure you guys are taken care of.

CHECK BACK OFTEN FOR UPDATES, as I'll keep you guys FULLY in the loop.

have you played halo 2 this year? imo it gets pretty repetitive, and i'd rather play an fps where i actually have to aim to kill someone instead of just holding down L.

That blurb on fourzerotwo.com is slightly contradictory. Is our posting history on charlieoscardelta.com going to play into who gets a token? Or does everyone have an equal shot?

hes assuming only the fans read his blog, but the way they are doing sounds like if you sign up within that day you should get in. Unless they do go through and check to see how long youve been a member

What's funny is that I was really afraid I had overstepped some boundary or something by showing frustration with our hosting situation. And then FourZeroTwo posts... =)

Just found this on the IW fourms from someone who managed to get as far as 3 quiz questions before the server went to a maintenance page.

Here are the questions he posted

1. What perk gives u extra bullet damage?
2. Which soldiers do u play as in the beta?
3. After a 5 kill streak you get an air strike. What do you get after 7 kills?
 
rayme...how will this beta signup happen now? i know you guys won't just take everyone from the cod4 forums because alot might be out of the US. but will it be determained by the postings on the cod4 forums or what?

I think you still need to wait for their webpage to come back online to sign up. F2Z said in his blog the difference is that everyone who signs up in the next 24 hours will be allowed in as opposed to it being first come first serve.

We're going to get the site back up, throw out the horrible First come first serve deal, and allow everyone 24 hours to register for a token. Once the 24 hours is up, we'll take that database and assign tokens randomly to that entire list so that it's fair to everyone regardless of when they registered due to site errors. So just because you couldn't sign-up because the site was down won't effect your chances to get in.

I don't understand why this has to be limited. There have been games that have had multiplayer demo's (BSM, Prey, etc) that were available to everyone freely on the MP. I don't understand why a beta can't work the same way. Couldn't of you guys just put the multiplayer BETA on the MP like you would a demo.
