COD 4 Beta Thread

Hey guys, anyone who's playing the beta can feel free to add me on Ninja Kn1ghtX. Now that I've finished BioShock, I'll try to spend more time on COD4.

******* has an article up saying that everyone who entered the lottery yesterday will get a beta invite, so you should get one eventually. I guess it was a good-faith gesture to the community for the cluster f#$% at noon PST yesterday.

I've been juggling the beta and BioShock since last friday, but would love to get a chance to play with some more people from GAF.

Prob the same knuckleheads (re:counterparts) that I found in Warhawk last night, saying that after Halo 3 microsoft will have no choice but to go third party. Almost as bad as when I played with some Gaf members in Resistance.

Got my invite last night after playing Bioshock all evening. Started to download it this morning, but only got to 22% before I had to leave for work. Can't wait to give it a shot tonight! Thanks IW!
 
Wow the knife is so powerful! Instant kill up close! I just had my best round, 23 for 10 and about 10 of those kills must have been with the knife!
 
The Non US registrations haven't started yet, have they? I kept checking the site but it was only US users only.

Canadians are a kind, simple lot. Let us in!

I kinda hate ow the knife lunges, though. Countless times I have been cheated up close with that damn thing. I'd have a nice shot on some kid, and then all of a sudden he lunges at me from outside two feet and gets a lucky kill.

(Needless to say, i've done the same to plenty of others :D )

I miss with it all the time:lol Seems pretty fair to me since it takes at least some skill to use.
 
I still haven't figured out the knife - sometimes it works well for me, other times - "swing and a miss!" It's very satisfying to knife someone, though. :D

I love the knife lunge. It works consistently without being cheap.

I got in on the beta. I registered using my US 360 account but it seems to be letting me play with my regular British one; should I be OK using that or are there checks in place to make sure I use the same gamertag I registered with?
 
I'm in!! I wont be able to play it until later on though....so how long does this Beta last anyways?

I played with a few British guys last night, and I don't think they were using US accounts. They don't seem to be checking.

not to bash or flame you or anything but hows the lag when you play?

I've noticed a few times that one or two guys can make everyone lag but not lag themselves (you can see it visually on the stats screen, everyone is one bar and these one or two guys would be green and screaming at everyone for lagging rofl). It's weird.

I haven't played properly yet, I just went on it to check it would let me access; otherwise I was going to come on GAF and beg for some 24 hour Xbox Live cards.

From what I played...people seemed to be moving properly, but I'm in no position to really give you a proper opinion.

Yeah, I played with a room full of Frenchies yesterday, annoying really (GT's all showed that they were from France) as they kept telling me to shut up:lol I guess they didn't like me shouting out directions of the enemy fire.

I went 33-10 on that Crash site map with them before I left.

No email here yet either. While fourzerotwo says everyone that entered will get to play, I still have that feeling of uneasiness that I: A. Entered my email address in wrong or, B. Entered my gamertag in wrong.

Guess I'll find out soon! :lol

To download the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Multiplayer BETA please
follow the following steps:

1) Turn on your Xbox 360 entertainment console.
2) Go to the MARKETPLACE Blade.
3) Select Redeem Code from the available menu.
4) Enter the Token found above in the available field.
5) Select Download Now.

Beta Registration Has Ended... More Opportunities to Come!

24-Hour Beta Sign-up has officially ended. I've pulled the final list, and the first batch of tokens are going to start sending out immediately.

Before I let you in on the best part, I want to make it clear that tokens are going to be going out in waves, we're probably going to let in a little over 10,000 people a day to slowly ramp up to the full amount. So even if you are selected tonight, you may not get your token just yet. Be patient. Enough of the logistics, now on to the good part.

I told you that we'd take care of the community, and I'm happy to say we were able to live up to that promise. Everyone who signed up for a chance at the beta via the 24-hour Beta Sign-up, WILL be getting a token!

We're going to send out congrats emails to all of you eventually, but keep in mind (again) the tokens themselves will be in waves. So you might get it today, you might get it tomorrow, you might get it later than that. So be patient, I know everyone would love to be in the first wave, but keep in mind this is a beta TEST, and this is one way were testing our servers performance is by ramping up slowly and tracking how it effects the game, playlist downloads, matchmaking, etc. We're hoping to try and get them all out as quickly as possible, but just wanted to give you a heads up if you don't see a token immediately in your inbox.

As I said, everyone who completed the sign-up over the past 24 hour's will be getting a token, if for some reason you missed the 24 hour sign-up keep in mind we're going to have more chances to get tokens in the future (possibly another Charlie.com sign-up) as well as through Gamespot.com, and GameStop, not to mention International users have their very own exclusive tokens / sign-ups coming up.

Thanks again for all the support everyone, once you've all received your token, downloaded the beta, and are online stabbing me in the back on Vacant.... I'm sure it would have all been worth it. ;)
