GAF favorite Schreier has said it won't be a '26 game.

About IGHP, to be honest, despite Neil is a polarizing figure, Im interested with this game. I hope they just make it very based. None of that force and push for woke crap pride agenda and twisted gender ideology. GOY was clean , no woke crap despite of leftist employees, so i think they can also do that with this game.

If Naughty Dog and COD both fail at the same time then western AAA is done.
Murican* (and it was done quite a bit ago), i'm going to keep eating good this gen thanks to GGG, CDP, Larian, Warhorse, Sandfall, Rebel Wolves, etc etc

The 3 best games released this year are from western studios actually, just not American obviously

It won't release next year.
They have GTAVI and Wolverine for 2026 holiday season.
Intergalactic is 2027 stuff.
Still a new trailer at TGA showing gameplay is absolutely possible (with GOW 2.5D and Cory Barlog's next game as other possible TGA candidates).

This can't be because just a few months ago ND was still recruiting writing staff for the game.

Druckmann is gonna mess it up, since he's god awful at worldbuilding and a sci-fi setting is all about that. Music and graphics will be great. The biggest question mark is gameplay. it shouldn't be derivative of their previous works.

Colin is just speculating, whereas Schreier is categorically stating it won't be out next year. I'm not sure how Schreier would even know that, with certainty, that far out.

Sony already have Saros and Wolverine for next year so I think Intergallactic will fall on late 2027.

Intergalactic. What a way for Sony to end the PS5 gen with a banger. Final Fantasy IX at the end of PS1 gen, Shadow of the Colossus at the end of PS2 gen, The Last of Us at the end of PS3 gen and Ghost of Tsushima at the end of PS4 gen.

Blood borne 2 should be the one to end Ps5 era with a bang.

Going from "content complete" to the final product with Naughty Dog's level of polish can take way more than one year

I dont expect it in 2026 at all

This is a great point, Sony is not going to release two tentpole games in the same season. Maybe spring 2027 for Intergalactic.

High chance we'll see it at Game Awards, but almost no chance it's out next year. Sony already has Wolverine at the end of the year against GTA, plus you just have to see TLOU2 BTS to understand that it will take a lot more time to complete the development.

TLOU2 came out in June which was rushed because of the leaks.

Sony might release two bangers close together but GTA is not made by Sony plus GTA VI is one of the most anticipated things in entertainment period. It will eclipse everything.

I think that as usual Colin is just making a personal guess that happens to be wrong.

AAA nowadays that more than a year from going from content complete to release, and hiring localization people doesn't mean they are content complete. It could mean some chapter of the game is content complete, doesn't mean to be the whole game.

They also could be hiring localizators to also work in some other side project, as could be some outsourced VR game, mobile game, Uncharted 1 remake or Nathan Drake Collection remaster they could also have in the works, separate from their main internally developed projects that are Interestellar and the other one or two other SP new games they have in the works at ND.

In 2026 Sony will have SP games like Wolverine, Saros or GTA6 plus live service games like Marathon or Marvel Tokon, so even if they could have Intergalactic ready for late 2026 (I think they don't) it would make more sense to leave it for 2027, particularly if they plan -as it seems- to release PS6 late 2027.

Regarding TGA, if Sony puts something there I think wil be instead Wolverine gameplay, some new Tokon characters, some Marathon trailer with release date + public beta announcement or the announcement of other Sony game to be released during 2026, which could be Firesprite's next game (Until Dawn 2?), Horizon Online (the console game being developed by Guerrilla, not the NC Soft mobile game) or SSM's upcoming smaller project (not Cory's new IP, not the next mainline GoW bringing Kratos to a new mythology).

I think Wolverine will end up being delayed to avoid GTA 6. Maybe Summer 27 for Intergalatic.
They also have Wolverine, I can't see Sony putting out 2 games any closer than 6 months apart. So if Wolverine is October that would put Intergalactic as a spring game. Wasn't TLOU2 a May release?

Wolverine will be released in October, GTAVI in May. GTA won't affect Wolverine's sales at all. Particularly because Wolverine will be an action focused not openworld action adventure.

Sony has 2026 more than well covered with Wolverine, Saros, Marathon, Marvel Tokon, plus many big 3rd party games like specially GTA6. Plus stuff that Sony or 3rd partys may announce in the future. Makes more sense to leave Intergalactic for 2027 as either a launch crossgen PS6 game or as a PS5 game released a couple months before or so, as was the case of GoT.

I notice that in ps5 era, it is most of the time two PS exclusives in the same year. Two big Sony games a year. 2024 was Stellar blade and Astrobot. This year was Death stranding 2 and Goy. And next year 2026 will be Saros and Wolverine. Intergallactic will clearly fall on 2027, maybe along with Stellar blade 2( if it still be exclusive too Sony, or time exclusive and xdev will still provide technical support ) or a new game from Asobi.

Nah. Still feels like a late gen release. Will likely be spring or summer 2027 with a next gen patch by end of that year. Holiday 2026 will be Wolverine and gta

I sure as hell hope so, it's absolutely ridiculous that they have made nothing but remasters of remasters this gen using the same assets and pipeline since tlou2...I mean it's kind of crazy how inefficient they have been this gen.

2020: Morales + Demon's Souls remake (plus Dreams, GoT, TLOU2 and MLB months before in PS4)
2021: Returnal + Ratchet + (fail) Destruction AllStars + MLB
2022: HFW + GT7 + GoWR + MLB + Bungie/Destiny 2 acquisition
2023: Spider-Man 2 + PSVR2/Horizon CoM/GT7 VR/(fail) Firewall Ultra + MLB
2024: Astro Bot + Helldivers 2 + Rise of the Ronin + Stellar Blade + (fail) Concord + MLB
2025: Death Stranding 2 + Yotei + Lost Soul Aside + MLB
2026: Saros + Marathon + Marvel Tokon + Wolverine + MLB

This is not counting smaller games like Sackboy, Lego Horizon or the licensed ones to Bandai Namco, remasters, remakes and ports plus non-gaming adaptations.

Spring 2027 is my bet.

I don't really see much of anything going up against GTA6, not even things like CoD(which is struggling mightily and it might be wise for them to take a year, honestly).

I'd also wager the industry is still not necessarily keen on even the newest GTA launch date sticking. They could move it again and anytime they do, it either causes relief or panic for any other developer.
