Not so deplorable for us Nole fans! ;) He's rumored to be the top candidate for Louisiana Tech's head coaching job... but if he takes that over a spot at FSU (even in an assistant role), I'd be shocked.

Edit: If threeball could get an offer from TCU, then it is pretty reasonable to think he could have gotten an offer from Texas Tech and Baylor if he waited a little bit.

In conclusion, he should have waited!

Yeah man, by not playing big boy BCS football he really sold his future short. We all know Baylor pumps out way more NFL superstars than TCU does. Just look at their alumni list: Mike Singletary, Gary Baxter, Cody Carlson, uh... did I say Mike Singletary?

It just goes to show you where UAB's place is in Alabama athletics. UAB needs something and when it looks like they are getting a potentially great coach, Alabama pulls the rug out from under them. Deplorable.

As if 'Bama needed any more negative karma too.

I totally want to subscribe to Rivals, but the price is just so damn ridiculous. Surely they could make it like $5 a month..

Its nice as you get a lot of news (esp recruiting) but all the people on every schools message boards are nuts

Edit: The ND fans are the best though, I swear they would give their life to defend "the peanut"

No board is nuttier than the Rutgers message board.

A local reporter actually did a scathing story on the reactions to a b-ball recruit choosing Duke over Rutgers. I think quite a few posters said they wanted the kid to "die", "Break a leg",etc.

Also, there was an incident last year with some guy threatening a football recruit who choose V-Tech.

Eh, I just decided to sign up for Rivals actually. :lol If nothing else, I'll just keep it for the next 2 months or whatever. 20 bucks isnt that much in the grand scheme of things and I need my Jimbo news!

Big story from Gene Williams on Rivals.. sounds like the Jimbo signing is almost a done-deal.. just hammering out the salary (which could be tough) and he might be announced as early as tomorrow as the new OC. We might bring in Lawrence Dawsey from USF to be our new WR Coach and Rick Trickett from WVU to be our new OL coach.

Give us those 3 and we're back in the MNC game in 2 years tops.

Damn I just relized we got Eric Berry to commit and now have the #2 class in the country, what a difference a year makes.

All signs are pointing to Bush and Brohm coming back.

Damn that is a pretty big.

Meachem has said that he is going to wait and see if he is a projected to be a first round pick before he decides.

Damn, the Jimbo deal is apparently in place but it won't be signed likely until AFTER the LSU game.. so now it's back to waiting for 2 and a half weeks. Brutal. Also it seems like Rick Trickett will be getting a raise and likely staying at WVU. =(

There are gonna be alot of deadly offenses next year.

Jake Long has said again that he will be back which will give us 3 out of 5 starters back on the O-line with pretty much every skill player of merit. Now if only Carr could get Branch and Crable to come back.

GAME OF THE CENTURY!!!!!!!

who is playing again?

threeballz future alma mater (TCU) and some other mid-major.

In other words, none of us will watch it because there's no big boy BCS teams.

Northern Illinois, they've got Garrett Wolfe who was one of the better do everything backs in college football this year. Kinda like Memphis with Deangleo Williams last year. I thought he had a good game against OSU but I might be remembering wrong.

Quick question on pick'em do I assign more points or fewer points to the games I feel better about?

Oh I'll be watching it (I even knew the other team playing!) on one of my TVs tonight. I was just participating in everyone's favorite passtime in this thread: trolling mid-major football to get a rise out of threeball.

You assign more points to the games you're more sure about.

I honestly thought NIU would score a bit more. Maybe threeball got TCU fired up extra special?

I'm 1/1!

Edit: I just realized it's only the third quarter haha.

Yeah, that game was a bore.

Next year, we'll see threeball play in this bowl. That should be fun. Maybe, he can be GAF's very own Rudy story. :P

Man, the MAC is looking GREAT this year so far in bowl play :)

That mohawk guy on TCU's team was awesome. Too bad that wasn't threeball. Speaking off, we should pour one out in his honor.

I'm 1/1 in picking the bowl games so far!!!

The only game I've got the MAC winning in bowl play is CMU over MTSU. Nobody listens to me though. :)

Ohio will get crushed by Southern Miss, as So Miss is just a better program.

Western Michigan plays Cincy. Cincy normally should destroy them, but their coach bolted for Michigan State and they're left with a new coaching staff trying to implement changes in about 3 weeks worth of time. Doesn't seem very likely. Talent alone should carry Cincy, but Western kept tight with some solid teams this year that are better than Cincy, including Florida State, so I've got Western in an upset.

The MAC only had one team that really deserved to play in a bowl. The two best teams in the league are Central Michigan and Western Michigan this year, who play in the same division. Oh well. That "Seven win" rule is stupid.

Just noticed today that South Carolina put up a billboard in the city, I don't think anyone has done that here before besides when some of our Memphis boosters put up a "Memphis is big orange country" one once in the 90s.

So I too took the plunge and bought a premium pass for Rivals. The premium boards are a lot saner, but there are still a lot of assholes. However, at least it's not the cesspool that are the non-premium Rivals boards. It's pretty pathetic seeing grown ass 30 year old men tearing down 16 year old kids for no real reason at all. So much for maturity.

Man, Rutgers fans strike me as worse than Notre Dame fans. It's a combination of Giants, Jets, and Eagles fans all converging together for one interest.

Still, the service is certainly worth the price.

What was that again? TCU can't play real football? Let's compare them to the #1 team in the nation:

Ohio State beats Northern Illinois 34-12 at HOME.
TCU beats Northern Illinois 37-7 on a NEUTRAL SITE.

Ohio State allows 340 total yards to Northern Illinois.
TCU allows 60.

Ohio State allows Garrett Wolfe to rush for 140-170 yards(can't remember)
TCU allows him to run for 28 yards on 20 carries, without counting his recieving yards which was in the negatives

TCU has more total yards on offense.

TCU allows 0 defensive touchdowns, a meaningless blocked punt for a touchdown in mop up time was NIU's only score.

Northern Illinois coach says TCU had a quicker and faster, overall better defense than Ohio State, and said that the offense was better at every position except the QB.

I guess TCU can't play real football after all.

Don't stop though, keep the hits coming.

Oh, and are you getting a scholly to play at TCU or walking on?

Someone has to replace that crazy ass long snapper. I nominate threeball! He'll talk some shit about Dragon Quest OR ZELDA (are you trying to get banned again?!?) to get the defensive linemen all riled up.

Heh, College Football Talk is saying that Chuck Amato will be returning to FSU in a defensive coaching capacity. There's chatter that we're going to be getting Rick Trickett as well when it looked like we might not a few days ago... crossing my fingers. Coaching dream team could be coming into place very soon. :D

Should have hired Richt too and made 2007 the new 1999.

Welcome back 3ball

I've got Oregon taking this game, though I have to admit I havent' seen a single play BYU has played this year, so I could be screwed.

Tomorrows game I've got Rice beating up on Troy. I'll take the WAC over the Sunbelt any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Oh yeah-- Threeball. I watched the Ohio State/ NIU game. Ohio State had their starters off the field halfway through the first half, and scored all their points by the 2nd quarter and coasted for the game. NIU was throwing up TDs well into the 4th quarter.

You guys just beat a handicapped football team-- way to go. Seriously... that's some Horned Frog football at it's finest. You should be proud that you're about to take part in such a deep football tradition that includes getting stomped by great teams and mutilating shitty teams.

I actually expect Troy to beat Rice. FSU struggled against Troy (yeah yeah, I know) but crushed Rice like 52-7 or something.. not fool-proof evidence by any means, but enough for me to pick em.

3-0 in pickem baby! Oops, edited instead of replied.

I think threeball is just pissed still because TCU was a big time player in a big confrence but they cheated, got cought, and then when the confrence they were in fell apart no one wanted them.
