College Football 2013 |Week 1| - Death Throes

The past three fucking days, 90% of ESPN has been:

- "MANZIEL MADNESS"
- "TEBOW'S LAST SHOT"
- "BILLS QB?"

There's and entire night of great college football games, and they feel the need to shove Tebow down our fucking throats 5 minutes into Sportscenter.

Go Noles.

What about the combination Olive Garden - Red Lobster?

They are owned by the same company, so I wouldn't be surprised if one exists. Just thought they may have more self respect than YUM! franchises

Garlic breadsticks or cheddar biscuits?

Cheddar Bay Biscuits by themselves are better than OG's breadsticks, but if I had some Zuppa Toscanna soup for dipping my breadsticks, then breadsticks.

Garlic breadsticks or cheddar biscuits?

Both!

SportsCenter has been dead to me since the glorious emergence of Fox Sports One Live.

Cheddar Biscuits. Don't front like that's even a question.

I have a confession to make:

I've never been to Red Lobster. Something about a chain seafood restaurant turns me off, especially seeing that my 'rents are professional captains/charter guides. Being spoiled on the freshest seafood possible does that to you (boo hoo, right?).

But, are the cheddar biscuits worth it?

They got beat by the MLB Network last week.

But they did kill the NBA Network, so yay?

ESPN KILLA.

Seriously, however FS1 was able to get all providers to offer the network from launch under the pretense it would challenge ESPN is beyond me, especially since I'm assuming CBS Sports Network, NBC Sports Network etc. all claimed to be of the same caliber when they launched.

Doesn't matter. Fox has the long-term plan and the cash and will to make it happen.

oh, maybe there's my answer.

One of FS1's challenges now is their channel is getting lost in the mix. Sports channels on U-Verse start at 600 (1600 on HD) and FS1 is 1652. Hell you have to scroll past the Big 10 network to get to it.

Not really. Wasn't impressed.

Fox has a track record though that can't be denied.

They started a broadcast network when people said it was impossible to challenge the "Big 3." Fox has scored years as #1.

They started a news network when CNN had that shit on lock-down. They are #1 now.

They transitioned FX into big-budget original programming when people thought premium original programming was too risky for a basic cable. FX is huge now.

Don't bet against Fox when they want to do something on TV.

You're so edgy and cool, Gondo.
Not trying to be.

I get what you were saying, that Fox is ruthless and successful when it sets out to conquer a segment of the TV landscape. Unfortunately, that also includes the creation of the cancer that is Fox "News," which has been tailored to appeal to and reinforce the fears and paranoia of the fringe right by spouting endless streams of sanctimonious bullshit.

...

On a football note, very impressed by what Ole Mi$$' investment bought them tonight. Cardiac win over Vanderbilt? FOURTH IN THE SEC WEST HERE THEY COME!
