Michigan's DE Brennen Beyer today said "everyday the starters are changing on defense".

That is either the best statement ever or the most terrifying ever from a UM fan perspective.

Even assuming the best (7-0 start) it's not like we'll really know anything until they play MSU anyway. Even then, national perception of the B1G is so shit, it's not like beating MSU and a Braxton-less OSU will mean much to anyone either. UM could go 10-2 and still not be sniffing the top 15. Fact of life at this point.

Go Blue.

There's also that dude that had the goat-head Satan avatar with the WVU logo on its forehead, but I haven't seen him post in a while. Criggins McSomething?

I heard all of our QBs were suspended, and they've pulled in Mo'ne Davis to play for us.

Still SEC favorites.

In UW news, Jeff Lindquist has been named the starter for the opener vs. Hawaii because he took better care of the ball in camp. Still not sure who the starter will be for the season (and probably won't find out until game 2) because the backup last year, Cyler Miles, is suspended for the Hawaii game. Also, sounds like true freshman Budda Baker will get heavy playing time this season and may even be starting. Shaq Thompson probably won't be getting any carries until conference play starts.

I don't think they usually offer odds on inter-divisional games.

Yeah I have yet to see any lines from games involving FCS teams. Casino's don't bother with them, which is a shame because we have a matchup this week where the FCS opponent would undoubtedly be the favorite against the BCS opponent ( NDSU v. Iowa St. )

Wooooooooooo go Clones! So glad everyone has high expectations for our team. I guess that's what happens when we go 3-9* or something like that in the previous season.

*The loss vs. Texas counts as a loss to the refs, not Texas.

Saban did away with the OR button, and has chosen the / as his choice of indecision.

The backup punter is the 3rd string QB! (but at least Saban said that Scott separated himself at that position)

Our depth chart vs. Hawaii.

Notables:
-Rimington Award watch list guy is now the backup at C.
-Starting RG is 381 lbs.
-Three true frosh in the depth chart in the secondary, including one starter.

The second-string OL might seriously be more talented than the starters.

UGA's defensive lineup does not include All-SEC inside linebacker, Ramik Wilson, as the starter. That's not exactly a shock given that he had a concussion during camp and missed 10 days of practice. It also isn't surprising given than (despite his stats last year), he is not thought of as the best inside linebacker we have: that person is Amarlo Herrera, who is starting but was snubbed on most of the preseason watch lists. Wilson and Herrera both piled up the stats last year, mostly because Grantham never subbed them out. We'll see a lot more subbing this year.

I think the thing to see here is that the media outside of Athens thinks that Wilson is the best linebacker because they don't watch him every week, they just see the stats. While he's good, he's not what the media has made him out to be thus far, but I still wouldn't be shocked to see him climb the depth chart as he gets back in game shape. And he'll still play a lot, I don't think "starter" means a lot with Pruitt.

Word is that they're going to line up Lorenzo Carter as an inside linebacker in some scenarios. Imagining him, Leonard Floyd, Jordan Jenkins, and Herrera on the field gets me excited.

I think the big shift from Grantham to Pruitt is that Pruitt favors speed and stamina over power and size. As a result, the star is being thought of less as a linebacker that you drop into coverage (yuck), and more as another defensive back.

USC AD Pat Haden hospitalized twice over the weekend.

Haden, one of 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee, emailed CFP executive director Bill Hancock to say he was O.K.

Hancock said Sunday night the committee has no protocol to replace a member who is unable to serve.

"It could be done with 12 members," Hancock said. "When we created the committee, we said it would be somewhere between 12 and 18 members. We don't really have a policy and decided not to do anything. We're just confident everybody would be able to get here."

Yeah, unsure how Grant Hill isn't a starter somewhere on the line. I remember him looking pretty great when he was sub'd in for injuries on the right side. Figured he'd replace Arie, but maybe Arie stepped it up a notch now that his brother's not there.

I really want to see Jon Allen and De'Shawn Hand on the field. hypehypehype

I think the "/" just means that Saban no longer cares about the "rules" of college football and is planning on playing those players simultaneously. Fuck your communistic "11 man limitation" designed to create an even playing field for the "have nots" such as Southern Miss, Tennessee, and UCF. Saban has talented kids on the roster, and, by God, he's going to play them.

Since depth charts are all the rage, here is USC's:

Bv2QUPvCcAATz4b.jpg

3 True Freshman starters on offense, plus a 4th in Adoree Jackson who is likely to be in heavy rotation.

Also 4 more True Freshmen are listed at #2 for their respective position on defense.

I guess when you don't have much depth, this is what happens.

A depth chart with their Twitter handles next to it? :jnc

Good to be back, friends.

What *I* did this offseason is help my friend open his brewery down the street from my house. So now I have a key, bottomless free beer, Wifi, and several big-ass TVs to spend my Saturdays. This could end very well, or very poorly.

BuckeyeGAF, how are you feeling about this Braxton Miller thing? I am cautiously optimistic about JT, but still worried about the defense.

Charlie Strong didn't release a depth chart today which has irritated some of the eager press, but Charlie Fn Strong doesn't care about them. He's going to throw on the field whoever he damn feels like during the game.

I was hoping for:

- Walks into presser
- States to reporters that "Y'all ain't shit!"
- Beans someone with a crumpled up depth chart.
- Leaves

- "Any Questions?"

This is a good point. Maybe Texas doesn't even have enough players to need a depth chart. Who's playing?

W6kYk7v.gif

Its pretty heavily rumored that a walk-on DB will be announced as a starter, and it wouldn't surprise me if a few more walk-on's find their spot in the 3 deep somewhere on the depth chart.

UGA Depth Chart. Only major thing is Ramik WIlson not starting at Mike LB. Walk-on, Aaron Davis, had been said to be the FS all preseason, and now he's the starter, so that's something.

Ajene Harris was actually a 3 star QB out of HS that USC converted to WR. It's kind of surprising for him to beat out Adoree' Jackson who was a 5 star, #1WR, #1 in California #6 nationally prospect.

Mama and Lobendahn were both 4 star recruits! (Rivals only rated 3 OL as 5 stars, Mama was the #1 rated guard and Lobendahn was the #2 rated C)

I assume it's just because Sark wants him on D, and is only giving him a chance on offense because that's what got his commitment.

Supposedly he's going to play every where. He's essentially the #4 WR right now so I'm sure he will get on the field in that regard a decent amount. He's also the #2 KR and the #3 CB.

Considering USC has like 66 healthy players and I think 7 are going to redshirt, that doesn't leave them a lot of depth. So if someone can play multiple spots, I expect that to happen.

Yes, I am! It's Lowercase Brewing in South Park.
