I'm a little worried about Syracuse Saturday. At home, bowl eligibility must win for them, and they play way better at home than on the road with a lot of close losses - it seems to be a trendy upset alert. Hopefully we can handle business.

This says its easier to grip a slightly deflated ball.

Quite simply, and as you might think, a slightly deflated football is easier to grip. As a result, a football that's easier to grip is easier to throw, catch and hold. A football that's easier to throw, catch and hold is often a football that ends up getting spiked in the end zone.

Another thing to consider is the fact that college teams use their own football, meaning that in Saturday night's game, Oregon had its own set of footballs on offense and USC its own set. So, theoretically, a team could deflate its own footballs very slightly and not worry about the opposing offense catching on when it had possession.

Well it's entirely obvious that slightly deflated footballs gave USC at least 31 points.

Wish I could be as confident as some of your pickers in the score of the FSU/VT game tonight. I only picked the Noles to win by 7.

Was going to say, yeah, they lost, as just kept trucking along at #1. But lol at what they're doing to Florida.

Is this some kind of fan poll?

Last year, we introduced the NCAA.com Power Rankings, a system based solely on team statistics. It's not like traditional polls that allow individuals to subjectively rank the "best" teams in their opinion. These rankings are simply based on current NCAA statistics taking into account both offense and defense.

Subjective items like wins and losses don't matter.

Thoughts on Week 11 Games

- FIRST WEEK OF GAMES WITH NO POLITICAL ADS!! FUCK YEAH

- People should be picking an FSU win, but not a blow out. FSU hasn't played well on the road yet this season. And while VT has been horrible, they are undefeated at home. Plus, it's going to be cold in VA tonight. Game starts at 7:30pm, I expect to be drunk by 9pm, and FSU won't pull away until mid-4th quarter.

- Hey, did you guys know Louisville is undefeated? Me neither!

- Michigan is starting a WR at QB. :lol Why did I pick them to win? I don't fucking know

- Wasn't it cute when OSU was undefeated, and the coach was buying In & Out for the team? Man, those were the days.

- Still can't bring myself to pick Pedo St. I can't.

- I think USC remembers how to play Defense this week.

- Gondo gonna cry crocodile tears when WVU remembers how to win. :)

- LSU showed the blueprint on how to beat O'Bama, but TAMU doesn't have the athletes to follow it.

Bonus shit-eating grin photo for tonight's game:

Michigan is starting a WR at QB. :lol

#1 dual-threat QB out of HS, and arguably a better QB than Denard anyway. All he really lacks is experience at this point. He was put at WR cause all UM has there is a bunch of DickRod midgets.

Also, is this confirmed? Last I heard Denard will go if healthy.

Hate to say it, but I really fucking like VATech's colors. Best color combo in college football in my opinion, right above the Garnet & Gold. It's a unique combo. I don't think anybody else has anything close to that maroon and orange. Very autumny, matches the trees around Blacksburg. It's very college football.

Orange and anything is gross
Silver and blue & red and gold are the best

By not beating them?

Here's the blueprint: Make (or hope) that the Quarterback has a bad day, while simultaneously hoping the OC decides to just keep throwing the ball, creating lots of 3 and outs.

LSU's offensive gameplan was similar to Western Kentucky's gameplan. West Coast Offense principles. War of Attrition-type stuff.

oh, and Auburn's 247 site is claiming sources are saying Chiznick is done at Auburn.

mre

Golden Domers are chickenshit!!
NCSU is your team, right? I'm beginning to come around to the idea that they did FSU a favor this season. Otherwise, FSU would be crushed by Bama in the MNC game. And Lord know, those Bama fans are already obnoxious.

I'm a Tulane fan. Keep up!

Not only that, but they're hinting that the top candidate is Louisville's OC. :j. n. c.

Petrino has to be the leading candidate for an Auburn opening. Then Arkansas will hire Tuberville and we can have the Pink Slip Bowl. Can't wait to see the trophy :p

Saw that. Comments claim biased numbers and mistakes.

Undoubtedly. So in other words it isn't much different from the arbitrary numbers that actual pollsters rely on, or the media-inflated hype and data-less eyeball test mysticism. Also losing a game at the end of the year is WAY too damning. It should be like basketball where the whole body of work from beginning to end is examined.

God I can't wait for 2014.

PICKS!!!

That can't be real can it? I mean it is going to be next to impossible to find someone to go there right now even if the money is right so I guess it could be.

I don't feel good about the game tonight at all. But I never really feel good about our games.

- Every Florida State Fan Ever Post-2000.

Also I take it back, I can't turn on the Garnet & Gold color combo. But I will give VT's maroon and burnt orange equal stature just for how unique it is. And it does fit the school perfectly.

Uh oh. UL-Lafayette on the docket. I'm legitimately scared for our boys this week....

Okay, that should be a squash match.

Anyone else hoping ND makes the MNC now? I was upset that they were even BCS ranked, but now I'm thinking it would be amazing fun to watch Alabama tear that ass up on the national stage. I have no doubt that as bad as Bama has looked at times, they will annihilate ND head-to-head. Then again, I'd prefer Oregon make it and maybe give them a challenge. PEACE.

Ugh, another writer who fails to understand the entire basic concept of "money ball".

The Oakland A's used to statistical evaluation to identifying undervalued skills in the scouting/free agency market. They acquired players who exhibited these skills because they felt they could get them cheaper and increase their chances of winning.

Just because Chip does shit like going for it on 4th down (which statistically yes will work out for you more than punting) in college, doesn't mean he would in the NFL or that anything he does in college would work in the NFL. Bill Bellichek is one of the most respected coaches in the NFL, has won multiple Super Bowls and got crucified a few times in the media when he had his offense go for it in what is normally a punting situation after his team failed to convert. Hell, Pete Carroll made a name for himself at USC for being Big Balls Pete and even he has toned it down since returning to the NFL.

I'd love to see Chip Kelly go to the NFL, to see if his run based spread can succeed there where other college coaches (like Steve Spurrier and the fun and gun) have failed. And not just because Oregon keeps destroying my school, I'd love to see someone actually shake up the NFL. That being said, I don't think the author is completely on point with why Chip would or could change the NFL.

You missed an obvious Oregon pays its players joke here, for shame.
