and to think a couple of years ago no one wanted Strong as an HC. He interviewed for so many jobs and kept getting turned down.

Our former AD did.

Tried to borrow against the student fund to buy out O'Leary. But this was right after we were coming off a championship, etc. The president shut that down.

Finally.

Butch Jones. New coach at Colorado. 6 years, 13.5 mil & facility upgrades.

I came up with two:

College Football 2012-2013 Bowls: Beef O'Brady's Bowl Canceled Due to Apocalypse

College Football 2012-2013 Bowls: Fans Provided By Groupon

Or bluemax can come up with something better.

Thoughts?

This is your choice, not mine.

can anyone in the bowl pick em help? if we submit our picks, are we allowed to change them until the game actually happens or is it done once you submit?

I hope Strong stays in L'Ville. They have the money to give him what he wants.

Who would Tennessee go after next.......hhmmmmmmmmmmm...............

picks aren't locked until 5 minutes before kick off of each game or something like that.

Thats not the hat I'm thinking they'll wear :)

Damnit. Now no Butch Jones?

Guarantee that's just some more money bullshit. Coaching search rumors are so fucking stupid. I'm sure we have our random shit-tier guy already picked out that's been on nobody's radar. That's the Tennessee way.

Hopefully the new coach will have a winning percentage of over .500 in his career.

So here are the new rumors.

Wisconsin is going after Petersen.

Apparently some station in columbus says FSU to the BIG.

Eh. I'm not very enthusiastic about this pick. Hope he finds a good defensive coordinator.

Basically my take on it. Could be a lot worse (thank Christ it isn't Hue Jackson), but it's not especially exciting. Guess we'll see.

Rumored that we'll get DeWayne Walker as DC. Would be awesome, but I'm not holding my breath.

I was listening when they were talking about that today. The context of the conversation was how people take what two guys might talk about on the radio, and it turns into an "unsourced rumor". It was brought up as a hypothetical discussion based on some random Tweet talking about FSU joining the B1G. Also in that discussion was talk of Ohio State joining the SEC.

Here's the real scoop.

After contemplating going to Cal, Kyle Flood decided against taking them up on their offer.

He feels that Rutgers has better facilities, recruiting grounds, & cash flow.

Plus, the tradition of Rutgers is second to none. Rutgers is the first team to win a national championship, and played in the first college football game. That's tradition that is unrivaled. It in fact makes the Rutgers job superior to Alabama or USCw.

Kyle Flood has such a low salary at Rutgers because he realizes that the Rutgers job is so great that you don't get paid by Rutgers to coach there. You pay Rutgers for the right to coach at such a historic institution.

I think it's less far'fetched then Petersen to Wisconsin.

Fixed that for you, other than that I agree with you 100%.

Dave Hart is getting paid some big bucks under the table by Alabama (where's likely the AD in waiting after Mal Moore retires) to finish off the UT football program for good.

I will be mildly surprised if Cinci matches Colorado money.

Strong staying. So much for those saying we couldn't compete with SEC schools dollars for dollar. Three schools rumored to be after Strong in the SEC couldn't get him. Maybe he pissed some fans off with his support comments, but some need to hear that.

The best program out of the 3 is under imminent sanctions, so it's not too surprising. Still, I'm glad he didn't go to Tennessee. He'd be much better than whoever they end up with, most likely.
