We have pre-season polls to ensure an SEC team makes it to the championship game. If an SEC team starts high and wins 11-12 games, there is a good chance they will go to the MNC. If an SEC team starts low and wins 11-12 games (which will ensure them beating a number of ranked teams, since so many SEC teams start ranked) it ensures an SEC team goes to the championship. The whole thing is set up in favor of the SEC since the media has partial control over the polls, and the SEC brings the media the most eyeballs. They further cement this mid-season by claiming a low/unranked SEC team beating an high ranked SEC team means the conference is deep. But when any other team beats a well ranked conference opponent, it means that conference is weak.
Teams need to start scheduling SECSECSEC teams and beating them.
Like Texas did.
