College Football Week 6 - If the Stanford Tree falls...

I just heard on the radio that TCU will be starting Trevone Boykin at QB; he's the same guy that, earlier in the week, was moved to RB since their depth at that position is so terrible.

I've been saying all week that ISU as an 11 point underdog was basically free money, even if you didn't think they would win outright like I do; this just solidifies my thoughts on the matter. I'll probably regret betting the house on this one like I regretted betting the house on the Tech-Texas State game earlier this year.

Though someone whose opinion I trust on talent evaluations says Boykin is a monster ready to explode. Calls him as impressive a high school QB as he's ever seen in the DFW area.

Last year only two teams put 40+ on Texas: OU and Baylor. Texas had 5 and 6 turnovers in those games. Also, OSU scored 38 with three Texas turnovers and a kickoff return TD. If Texas' much improved offense doesn't turn it over 3+ times, it will be very difficult to put up 40.

Listening to Urbans weekly call in show today makes me really appreciate him more than Tressel. I would never even bother listening to Tress because it was the same bullshit every week: "well gee golly, akron has a heck of a football squad and theyre gonna make some plays, so we better be ready, and I think were doing a great job everywhere."

Urban: "Our running backs suck, need to step it up, Stoneburner is running routes slow, he better get his shit together soon."

It's actually interesting to listen to, and he'll actually answer a damn question.\

Also learned today one of my High School teammates, Jamie Wood, who played for Ohio State has walked away from the game due to injury. Feel bad for him, was always such a nice guy and expected big things from him at OSU but injuries always got in the way.
 
Apparently Maida Glasgow, wife of Chad Glasgow (current DB coach at TCU, was Tech's DC last year), posted this on her Facebook page earlier -

"All I have to say about what's going on in FW is if the Frogs win any more games the other team must really be bad!! Just saying!!! Thanks Pachall!!"

God I am glad that guy is out of Lubbock.

Attention whore who wants to start immediately AND be the go-to WR on a team. FSU has too much talent at WR right now for that to happen next year, so he decommited.

Dude looks like an OL in some pictures. Huge TE, wouldn't be surprised to see him end up as an OL wherever he goes.

There's a Tech guy on the message boards that lives up near Plano Prestonwood and has a wife that works there. Apparently his sister is going to Ole Miss to play volleyball and he's been wearing a lot of Ole Miss gear around lately. He's been saying today that he doesn't know where he's going to go, though. Apparently said decommitting was like breaking up with an old girlfriend and that the FSU people took it pretty hard.

Yup, huge TE that is built for blocking. It's a bummer for FSU to lose him. The staff should've taken it hard.

I didn't call her a bad driver. I called her a horrible driver, and I think my position is fully supported by the facts of the situation.

Tomahawk Nation thinks it's mostly a distance thing for Morgan although he was toying with decommitting once Haplea transferred from Penn State so I am guessing competition did factor in (even though Haplea is already a Junior..).

I think driving on the sidewalk, unless to avoid an accident or in the case of another emergency, is objective evidence of being a horrible driver but only subjective evidence of her being a, as the kids say, "bitch."

I was participating in the discussion of this unfortunate event whilst delaying writing a brief due tomorrow that I was given a few hours ago.

Insinuating anything further than that is libel of the worst sort.

They don't even play on campus. They play out of Pelham (i.e. Hoover, i.e. Birmingham). Near the Pelham Amphitheater.
 
There are hockey teams in the south. We have a really good club team that gets sponsors and funding. Just not enough to move to D1 plus there is the issue of joining a conference that sponsors hockey.
