Where is Wolverine going?
Cyclops in X-Force wouldnt be half bad, if only to see him in a White, Red and Black uniform, but leading i just dont see it happening.

Im trying to imagine him int he team right now and im having trouble....unless post AvX he is Arch-Angel levels of insane then we can have him on the team as the loose cannon....cyclops the loose cannon in Uncanny X-Force?...this could grow on me.

Remender said that Final Execution is going to have a dramatic impact upon Logan, I'm betting he quits X-Force (truthfully I just hope he kills Daken hate that guy). And besides Fantomex and Archangel we're still going to see at least another team member dead.

On Cyclops leading X-Force (my previous assumption) and (AVX spoilers):

I thought that leading X-force could be a really cool turn of events for Scott specially considering that he didn't want to get his hands dirty when he asked Logan to lead the team, but after reading the AVX 11 spoilers I just don't see it coming.

Before learning that Scott kills Chuck I thought it would be cool if Scott kinda went renegade with a small team of X-guys (like Magneto) who agreed with his stance. He could be disavowed by the other teams and acting on his own.

But if they have any intention of writing him on character after he loses the Phoenix Force there's no way he can continue on his hard stance on mutant matters and advocating killing enemies after he murders Chuck.

I only have to go 26 days or so before i get my dcbs shipment that has AvX 11 and 12....i'm sure i won't be spoiled before then!

People said the same thing about Hal Jordan.

Evan is growing up so fast :)

Whoa whoa whoa... let me see if I get this. >:|

...

Doop AND Howard the Duck? Fighting killer robots? With Narsil, a spiked rubber chicken, and what appears to be a beehive? Drawn by Mike Allred? :O

OH. MY. GOD. :D

Damn, Allred is really awesome. Time to reread that X-Statix omni.

Speaking of collected editions, amazon have just shipped my Powers vol 5 oversized hardcover. I'm still amazed at the value of these, provided you like the source material obviously. I had forgotten about that preorder and seeing the $16 price was a shock.

anyone especially want the digital codes to Ultimate X-Men 13 and 14, the start of Wood's run?

First one to quote this post wanting them gets them etc etc etc so you know when they are taken.

Posted this at Mike's comic thread, but hoooooly shit is SCALPED good comics.

Imagine Sopranos on a modern day reservation with a punk sheriff and a murder mystery and heavy heavy The Wire and some spagetti western inspirations as well. And I said in the other thread, lots of cute chicks.

The book reads like an HBO series. If you like HBO's modern day dramas, this is all about you and you need to get the fuck down and read it. Even if you don't like reading non-sci-fi/fantasy down-to-earth real comics.

I don't watch those show but yea Scalped is good.

Re: X-Force and Cyclops. I haven't read any of the spoilers but I'd be interested in having a book about a Cyclops-led rogue X-Force. Guys that aren't the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and won't kill civilians to make a point but aren't X-Men either in the sense that they're willing to go further to protect mutants and are unapologetic about it. That's what X-Force already was, mind you but in a paradigm where they are considered renegades/bad guys by the regular X-Men and other teams but still see themselves as doing some good/helping people. Really somewhere between Xavier and Magneto.

I'm pretty interested if it's okay.

Scratch that, it appears to be a submachine gun with a beehive attached in lieu of a magazine, so that it shoots bees instead of bullets.

*head explodes*

Michael Allred drawing Doop again just feels so...right

Goddamn Allred is such a boss

Allred praise always makes me feel like people are seeing some optical illusion I'm just not getting. I find his art unbearably amateurish, is that.. the joke? Are we all joking?

That X-Men art does look dialed-in (poses and panel composition are awful, perspective is off in the doop splash page). It seriously looks like he was in a rush or had other projects going on, but I wouldn't usually describe his art as "amateurish"

He uses brush-heavy strokes that render clear, expressive figures in action, like Steranko or Kirby. I would take his art over scratchy Jim Lee shit any day. His drawings are accepting of the pop-art nature of comics, instead of trying to stifle it with "realism" or heavy-ness. He's not shy about is influences, either. These X-Men pages aside, he typically draws in the very traditional "Marvel Way".

I know he's done good stuff in the past, stylistic art deco style stuff, but that art up there, the FF cover... I see too much terrible to not furrow a brow.

Let's have this giant Skrull invasion, but it's going to be in secret and nobody trusts anyone! And then BAM SKRULLS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then they all punch each other and it ends.

FANTASTIC!

Name a recent event from any company that didn't end with punching.

Final Crisis? la la la LA.

Technically Secret Invasion ended in shooting i think. Secret Invasion and Civil War were probably the two events that i thought had the most potential to be good but didn't do anything. And it's not just ending with punching, that doesn't bother me, it's when the journey doesn't amount to much either.

Really not fair to compare other events to Final Crisis though, it was so ridiculously good.

Daniel HDR was taking sketch commissions for NYCC through his site so I asked for a Typhoid Mary close up. Love it, can't wait to pick it up. :D

Hey guys. I usually read a few Image titles monthly and grab cape books once in a while to read in marathons. With that said, I generally read Bat related books plus some others. I was wondering if Batgirl and The Dark Knight have gotten good. For comparison, let's say I like all the other Bat books out right now, minus Detective. Thanks!

Hurwitz's first Dark Knight issue was decent, I didn't really like Batgirl but i only got up to issue #5. I'm more interested in giving Layman's Detective Comics #13 a shot.

I think this case is more because of the colorist

WHAT.

THE.

HELL.

The Reason Greg Rucka Left DC Comics?

"I, at one point, was supposed to write Wonder Woman Earth One like they did with Superman and Batman. JH [Williams] was going to draw it."

(So what happened?)

"I was told I was not going to do it. Dan Didio called me and told me he was giving it to someone else. And I said if you take that away from me I can no longer work for you because I have taken many a job for you, sir, on the promise of doing this and now you’re taking it away and I can no longer accept your promises any more. He had his reasons for doing it; this is not me throwing stones. This is just the way things shook out."
Source: 3 Chicks Review Comics Podcast (Rucka interview starts @ 24m15s)

I'm listening to the Rucka portion as I type this, but I... I can't even... I mean... just...

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF*CK. >:O

Dc5K0.jpg

So we can add Rucka to the list of writers Dildo has pissed off. They should all form up into Voltron to fight it out. Mark Waid will be the head. Chuck Dixon will be the penis.

phoenix corrupted him will be the answer given, and people will accept it and move on. just like hal and parallax and tony and the mindwipe.

It worked for Jean? Minus the fact that she's been paying it for like, 40 years.

Can I just say that AvX is not even at all what I even remotely have wanted from a big Phoenix event? Freaking give me JEAN already! She's been dead for a decadeish! BRING HER BACK. You retconned like, every other aspect of her death now, so just get it on with!

We could have had a WW story by the team behind "Batwoman: Elegy"...with the writer of team being responsible for quite possibly easily the best run on the character....and it was taken from us?

Gaf...I just...I don't even...I...

crying-wonder-woman.jpeg

I trust Morrison and Paquette (they'll probably do something great), but knowing this just makes me sad. "Elegy" is one of the books that got me into comics, and having a WW book of that quality would have been amazing. And what a dick move on Didio's part.

Elegy was the first superhero comic I read before I jumped head first into superhero comics when the New 52 started last year and still one of the best I've read. That said I don't have the same hardon for WW that most of Comic-GAF seems to. Still sucks to not have an opportunity to see those guys tag team another project.
