I like this way of thinking and heartily endorse the living fuck out of it. Seriously I want a Marvel Universe beats the Crap out of Scott mini-series.
0 issues making everyone crazy?Man, October thread needs to get here. September thread has been like Iwo Jima.
Marvel Now, insanity later.

Spreading the releases out gives them best odds at shutting DC out of the top five for an extended period.Marvel Now should have been all in one month. Are there any good Halloween issues next month?
Disagree. I think that was the biggest problem with the new-52. Very few could afford to buy everything so they had to decide beforehand. Titles were ignored and eliminated before they were launched.Marvel Now should have been all in one month.
I hope Marvel uses Marvel NOW to really run with the notion of seasons. Restarting the numbering (but not the continuity) every year or so.
So I like the side of the "event" that feels like cold and rational calculation, like, dropping new pieces of the "season" puzzle every month, icreasing bit by bit, but everything with kind of fresh beggining, then if it becomes bloated and complex, whatever, it will just restart next year anyway (and what works, keep working because continuity is there).
Let's try to cheer up. Free Daredevil #1 at Comixology of Waid/Rivera Run.
Look at the cover and click.

Now they editorial should just start fucking respecting the awesome people who works for them and everything will be all right. There should be clear communication to the creators that their run in this specific title will last at least the entire season; after that, who knows, everything will always be new forever.
I believe Brevoort's implied that this is likely (although probably not quite as often as annually).I hope Marvel uses Marvel NOW to really run with the notion of seasons. Restarting the numbering (but not the continuity) every year or so.

AvX11=Awesome. Yeah I know I have little of the comic background and experience that others have here, but man did I love it....and not just because I hate Cyclops.
I'm all for the seasons approach. Tons of books are put out that really should have been a maxi-series (and would really work well as such), but instead are shoehorned into a monthly. And when the fanbase is not there for the long run, they are damaged goods and shelved for a few more years. Defenders and Alpha Flight would be excellent seasonal runs.
Both Marvel and DC would do well to look at things like Inhumans and see that fringe properties can shine when spotlighted, rather than added to the monthly glut.
I was just talking about this with a friend a few weeks ago. Specifically in reference to how a book like Phantom Stranger would probably be a great maxi-series, but it's hard imagining there being enough material for an on going monthly.
As much as we bitch about these Marvel events not being well elaborated, superpeople punching each other is always good. The punch-fest in Civil War was excellent; The Central Park battle in Secret Invasion was every kind of awesome and whatever the hell happened in AvX 11 was very cool, too.
Marvel can always punch its way back into being the coolest thing in the world.
Okay, so after reading this it got me excited to read Daredevil, but I have no idea where to start. Any recommendations?

Um yeah Daredevil... okay.
The Man without Fear - Miller/Romita
Daredevil: Yellow - Loeb/Sale
Guardian Devil - Smith/Quesada
Entire Bendis Run
Entire Brubaker Run
Entire Diggle Run
Finally Waid's Run

I feel that the Diggle run can be skipped entirely. Just get to the end of Brubaker, say "and then things got even worse, somehow", and move onto the Waid run.

Don't read the Diggle run or anything related to Shadowland. Just skip from Brubaker to Waid.
I think "and then shit gets even WORSE SOMEHOW" Hour covers it. I think that was the biggest takeaway from ShadowlandI can understand the dislike for the Diggle run, but once you finish Brubakers you want to know what happens next. I guess you could also just read a plot summary...
Oh yeah what should I buy? No, everything is not an option. lol

I really believe that Diggle purposefully sabotaged Daredevil so that Marvel pet, Tchalla, could have good publicity for taking over that shit. I'm here exposing Marvel all day.
You just read a #1. You already started.Okay, so after reading this it got me excited to read Daredevil, but I have no idea where to start. Any recommendations?
Don't ever get excited for Bore Panther.
I hope everything you attempt crumbles and you never prosper in life and all the bad things there ever were happen only to you.Don't ever get excited for Bore Panther.

..Speaking of the issue - I really don't like Eddy Barrows at all but did anyone get strong Norm Breyfogle vibes from that first image of the (ugly) Robin costume? Actually, that costume reminded me a lot of some of the designs in the old Brotherhood of the Bat elseworlds (I am showing my age here, I bet most of you kids don't remember it). It also looks similar to some of the original Neal Adams designs for Tim's costume. But it still sucks...
Would be nice but everyone's already talking about 20+ issue runs. Avengers is going to be at least 63 issues, double shipping, half filler + New Avengers. Barf.I hope Marvel uses Marvel NOW to really run with the notion of seasons. Restarting the numbering (but not the continuity) every year or so.

So, I actually like cyclops and I can see where he is coming from in what he chooses to do and why he strongly feels the way that he does. I've sided with the Avengers since this event was announced, but I can see his side.
yeah but cyclops is an idiot for thinking he could get hope, or he himself could control the phoenix force. He already knows its too much , emma frost should know its too much but yet he persisted like a nut.
What has Dr. Strange been doing during AvX? It seems like most aspects of the Marvel Uni have been involved now. I mean, Cosmic Marvel had Epicfailnova, and EVERYBODY is an Avenger, so what's Dr. Strange been doing? And has anybody kept Franklin Richards as far from it as possible? Not that he NEEDS it, but the Phoenix does seem to like blonde psychics when it can't get redheads.
So like, is Dr. Strange just kinda getting stoned with Wong while all of this is going on?
