Vibe is already below 20k in sales, fuck this universe.....

On the plus side, it will get cancelled faster so you won't have to worry about it? I didn't give the book a chance and i don't feel bad ignoring it, i blame DC on that. Call it " Justice League of America's Vibe" and launch it right alongside JLoA instead of later when fans might actually be interested in the character. Make JLoA a crappy book in itself. Have Johns co-write the first issue then leave. Have the main writer leave after 2 issues with Gates coming to write at #3. Yeah, this project just builds the hype!

Now that i've looked at the full estimates i'm frowning, there's a ton of low selling books.

157 Dial H 10 $2.99 DC 13,084

Whatever Mielville is going to do with the book, it should not waste time. It's been fun so far.

Who here really though this book would sell though?

The unfortunate thing is, it's actually pretty good? And there is one line of thought that would suggest that a companion book to JLA has potential; You get to see some things in tandem/parallel but from Vibe's perspective.

on a Scale of Cry for Justice to Starman how good is earth 2.

The only way I can describe it is that Earth 2 is one of, if not the first book, that I read when that weeks haul gets home; Art is consistently great (Nicola Scott is amazing imo). Story has been a consistent 8/10 imo, so far. It can be a little more "wordy" for a title, as Mr. Robinson is want to do, at times... but I don't feel it hurts all that much, as he is world building beyond just a few individuals. You are getting a feel for an alternate Earth that suffered a much different outcome from the Apokalips invasion.

It really has the feel of a book that is begging for 2-3 companion titles, and scuttlebutt from a few podcasts with Mr. Robinson, is that there may be more in the medium-future.

I couldn't get past the writing in the first 3 issues of Earth 2, the premise looked fun though, maybe i'll pick up the trades when they release in 2015.

Since Marvel Unlimited has the full Carnage USA to read i decided to read my OHC of Carnage: Family Feud. Zeb Wells writes a great spider-man here, a lot of humor shines through the Carnage madness. Overall it was a fun read even if the Carnage battle at the end was the low point to the book.

Speaking of, I seem to remember hearing that the starman omnibuses flopped so now they aren't getting paperbacks. Was that right? This here volume 3 that I'm looking at on amazon is gonna be out of print and ultra-expensive for the near future?

If so, I'm just not gonna start collecting them. Got hellblazer and invisibles to read anyway. Also, many new 52 books that I want to start buying in trades.

EDIT: WAIIIIT immediately below them in the search results there are books labelled, as far as I saw at a glance, starman books one through ten. Are these the original trades? what does the omnibus offer compared to them?

Is Starman good? Never read it.

Yes.

Looking at the March Top 300 sales estimates, it's sort of funny to see Batman Inc #8 selling the fewest copies (by far) out of the 4 main Batman books when the other three titles were just epilogues to its events.

Never thought I would see the day when a Guardians of the Galaxy book would sell 200k copies. Also really surprised to see East of West sell close to 50k copies.

I blame it all on Batman Inc's pre-new 52 stuff being delayed heavily, people seemed to lose interest. Then Snyder Batman launched first in the New 52 and Batman Inc didn't come until the second or so wave. I can't remember if Dark Knight launched with the first wave....anyways, it's a shame though since Batman Inc is amazing, it will make a nice Absolute Edition in 10 years.

That, and how divisive Burnham's art is.

Dark Knight was part of the initial wave.

The long delay and slightly wonky continuity stuff definitely had an impact.

First, Batman Inc. was canceled along with the rest of the old continuity books, and didn't even get to reach a satisfactory conclusion. Then once it was announced that it would continue at a later date, there was a perceived general sentiment among readers that once the New52 happened Batman Inc. "didn't matter" anymore; that Morrison was being allowed by DC to finish up his little sideshow, and that the rest of the Bat books were marching to the beat of the reboot drum. Heck, for a while there people weren't even sure if Inc. was still taking place in old continuity, or New52. I think those things resulted in a lot of people not paying attention to it.

Still funny to see an epilogue book (Batman #18) sell 135k copies when the event it is following was from a title that shipped 35k copies. It would be the same as having All New X-Men take an issue to explore some event happening in X-Men Legacy.

That said, I would guess that Batman Inc #8 will end up being one of the most heavily reordered titles of the year.

Morrison's Batman went from being the head of the Bat-family that set the course, to that little book on the side that does it's own thing while Snyder does his big ass events. Everybody got tie-ins to his Court of Owls and Death in the Family, while Morrison's Batman is in it's own little world of pre/pos6 Nu52 continuity.

and all the damn delays didn't help for shit, either

But I still love the book, hell it's the last in-continuity Batman book I'm gonna be buying for awhile it seems, so I'm enjoying it while it lasts

I was thinking of trying out the Marvel Unlimited digital comics thing, is it worth it? Is there a good amount of content?

I think I currently get every Batman title except Inc, because I find Inc as a premise to be stupid. And the art kind of sucks.

I did buy Batman Inc #5 for the Future Damien and #8 because obv.

That just had a massive update in content that made me happy and filled some gaps in their modern books. I'm going to email/badger them to make the app fullscreen though...

definitely worth subscribing to.

You buy Dark Knight? How is that?

Couldn't tell you past the first half dozen issues. I fell behind and haven't caught up yet. I continue to buy it because I'll catch up eventually and hatehatehate having incomplete runs of a title. It's actually kind of a bad habit but one I'd quit comics before giving up. Getting back issues of Legion has caused me an unhealthy amount of stress because of my fucking need to finish it. All of it.

What were we talking about?

Oh, Legends of the Dark Knight is pretty awesome. First issue sold me.

I'm the same way, cannot fucking stand missing issues in a run.

I think one of my favorite moments in jl8 - aside from when Diana was 'stomping' on Bruce's head for being weird was when he feigned juggling. I think it was his expression that sold me.

For the most part, the comic is great and I love reading it but also reminds me just how out of it I am in regards to DC now. Feels strange but I disliked most of the direction it's taken in new 52, and have only decided to read Green Arrow (which is has just become okay in a matter of 3 issues... :/).

Not sure if I'll be jumping back in anytime soon but I kind of want to.

[]It's banned on iOS. Can still read it on PC. I feel like apple is discrimanating.

As has hopefully been clear from the first page of our first issue, SAGA is a series for the proverbial “mature reader.” Unfortunately, because of two postage stamp-sized images of gay sex, Apple is banning tomorrow’s SAGA #12 from being sold through any iOS apps. This is a drag, especially because our book has featured what I would consider much more graphic imagery in the past, but there you go. Fiona and I could always edit the images in question, but everything we put into the book is there to advance our story, not (just) to shock or titillate, so we’re not changing shit.

Apologies to everyone who reads our series on iPads or iPhones, but here are your alternatives for Wednesday:

1) Head over to you friendly neighborhood comics shop and pick up a physical copy of our issue that you can have and hold forever.

2) While you’re at it, don’t forget to support the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, which helps protect retailers who are brave enough to carry work that some in their communities might consider offensive. You can find signed copies of Saga at the CBLDF site right now.

3) Download the issue directly through sites like https://comics.imagecomics.com or on your non-Apple smartphone or tablet.

4) If all else fails, you might be able to find SAGA #12 in Apple’s iBookstore, which apparently sometimes allows more adult material to be sold than through its apps. Crazy, right?

Anyway, special thanks to Eric Stephenson and everyone at Image for supporting our decision, and for always being so supportive of creators. Sorry again to readers for the inconvenience, but I hope everyone will be able to find an issue that Fiona and I are particularly proud of. And after you do, please check out PanelSyndicate.com, the new digital comics site I own with artist Marcos Martin, which remains 100% uncensored by corporate overlords.
