Slott. I want to doom him by giving him what he wants. I want it to go so far that he breaks down into despair for ruining something beautiful and older than he is. I want to see meta blood. I want it get as bad as it can get, and then I want it to be worse. We're past the threshold here, people. Welcome the the Event Horizon.

Do it, dammit. Bring Mephisto in.

That's a whole lotta words to say Dan Slott is a hack who uses controversy to hide the fact that his writing is terrible.

I have no idea how some people are telling me Slott's writing became good in this. I didn't like it before #700 and I still think it's terrible.

However, that's referring to the dialogue scripting. I actually find his plotting very interesting and some of the themes in this issue deal with something I've been wondering myself for a long time.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the overall plot and see where it's going. Despite the terrible dialogue this was fun to read.

You would think he would have stepped in by now. I would think he wanted Pete to suffer with his decision, rather than someone else living in his body.

Continuity is one of those things that only matters im comics if it's useful for the writer. If it would bring up problems, everything's quickly forgotten.

I hate that in comics btw. You're absolutely right he would. Except
OH HE KNOWS what happens and he's aware Peter will be back at some point and it's all a part in his greater scheme of things and blah blah

So yesterday I stopped in at the shop again and picked up another haul.

Arkham Asylum, A serious house on serious earth
Hellboy Trade #3
Sin City, a dame to kill for
All New X-Men, 3 and 6-8 to catch up
Deadpool Max 2 Trade
Deadpool #8

And the best one: A job offer. I'll be stopping in after work Monday to do a 'test run' and if it works out I'll be working there part time and possibly on the weekends. Pretty rad, I'd say.

New Avengers 1-4, 3 and 4 especially, were highly enjoyable. Now i must reread Avengers 1-4 before reading my other issues on hand.

New Avengers #4 spoiler
I would have let Galactus have his dinner, the Avengers are jerks

Great Morrison picks, dude! Arkham Asylum is a fascinating graphic novel, and I always love reading about how Morrison actually approached writing it (and how Dave Mckean felt it didn't work out in the end).

Its funny you should say that, I picked up the rest of those because I was reading about Morrison the other day, and had been looking for AA:SHSE. So yeah, that was intentional. Thank you. Besides Invisibles and possibly his Doom Patrol run, what else should I look for?

Without any hesitation, i'd recommend All-Star Superman and We3. Those two are super accessible stories and just really dope. Morrison + Quitely are unbeatable as a creative duo.

If you find you're loving Morrison and want to really get into what makes him him, then I'd suggest moving onto his larger works: Animal Man, Doom Patrol, Invisibles.

Secretly, I want to recommend Flex Mentallo to everybody who asks about Morrison but that shit really deserves to be read after you've become acquainted with the man's work.

Oh, and his seven year Batman run is the best Batman stuff I've yet to read, so there's always that.

Awesome, I will write this down to look into. I think he's pretty good from what I've read of him, and I'm always looking into Batman. To tell the truth, Frank Miller is my homeboy, so I might be inclined to pick up his batman stuff first, but I'll keep an eye out for Morrison stuff.

And oh god, how could I forget We3? I've read the first couple pages of that and I was looking for it everywhere, then I read yesterday that Morrison wrote it, I definitely need a copy now.

Asked in another thread and realize the series is over and it's now in TPBs... what is the GAF consensus on Irredemable/Incorruptible?

Irredeemable was a fun ride that's worth reading even if it got a little tipsy halfway through. Incorruptible wasn't worth the money to me, it was okay but felt small and stilted compared to Irredeemable.

You should read his JLA run. It's pretty groundbreaking and hasn't been toped since.

That's actually just about the only easily found Morrison work I haven't read because I don't know the best way to buy them. There are deluxe and regular editions floating around but there was some strange discrepancy with them on Amazon, or all of the deluxes weren't avaliable. I really just want an omnibus for it.

I second Animal Man without hesitation. It's easily in the same league as Doom Patrol (they were written during almost the same time period) and sometimes it's even more personal.

Also great pick on the Arkham Asylum book, it's genuinely impressive.

Dropped Animal Man. Likely will pick it up in trades from now on, if ever.

Lets get some Batman X Wonder Woman up in here

or Orion

Where Geoff let us know “The thing about Wonder Woman and Superman is when their relationship ends, it’s going to end badly. There is no good way for this one to end. And then there’s other concerns. When those two start acting out together, people get nervous. Not because they don’t think they’re heroes, but because they have such incredible power, and who could stop those two?”

I think you should mention what comic the spoiler is about.

And how did he die? All I know is that Damien killed him

Damian and Dick are trying to capture the prisoners and are bickering. In a fit of rage Damian throws one of Dick's sticks at him.
It hits Dick right in the head, he starts falling down, and his neck hits a rock and breaks.
I know, it sounds pretty morbid, but the way it's written and drawn is unintentionally funny.

Is the current Nightwing comic any good? He always seemed like a neat character to me.

I know one person who read it for the longest time. Massive fan of the character. Was satisfied with most of the issues so far. I knwo she bitched about some recent issue but idk if she stopped buying it or not. Probably won't persuade you if you're skeptical, though.

Deep down all of us Superior readers know what's going to happen without even reading the spoilers. We know it.

Potential Superior Spider-Man spoilers:
My big problem with this whole thing is that Peter Parker shouldn't have even been in the comic from the beginning. Seemed really dumb after making a big deal about "killing" him in Amazing #700 to immediately bring him back in "ghost" form. The stupid previews leading up to the issue didn't help either with the whole "this will make you madder than the ending of #700." This whole thing really seems like a story arc that was done a lot better during "Kraven's Last Hunt" with Kraven taking over Spider-Man's role.

I agree with your first point, but I doubt any of this would have been green-lit if it didn't happen.
