They stopped B&B, which was all about dodging the softest of softball questions. DC just doesn't want anyone to even raise the possibility that things might be completely fucking giga-fucked to infinity for them.

Smaller Week for me

Age of Ultron #7
All New X-Men #11
Hawkeye #10
Indestructible Hulk #7
Thanos Rising #2

Marvel just released close to 300 more comics on their Digital Unlimited service. Only 13 are recent comics though. Most of the rest are archive issues, filling in gaps in the original volumes of Thor, Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Avengers. Looks like they are aiming to have complete runs available for those titles in the near future.

you weekly list people are ridiculous, real lists are comprised from pre-ordering a months worth of comics from dcbs.

I'm getting caught up on superior spidey before my dcbs shipment arrives tmw, it's decent. It reminds me of a mediocre episode of a tv show, except the gag doesn't end after an episode.

So, I've finally decided that I didn't like Jupiter's legacy. Just don't see what the hype was about. It's not getting put on the pull list.

Probably because its atrociously written.

Still, pretty sure anyone who walks into a comic book store is bound by law to buy anything Frank Quitely draws, and rightfully so.

The best critique I heard of Millar's work and why it's hard to like is "it's mean-spirited." Despite my deep love for Frank Quitely, I just don't think anything Millar writes is worth my money.

Dan Didio and Bob Harras run DC like Nazi Germany

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
Well that sucks. I really liked Comics Alliance, since they actually had interesting features and would do nice highlights of indie books.

Did the Survivor Mud Run last Saturday so I ended up at A-1 Comics in Sacramento, where I managed to pick up East of West #2 & Saga Vol. 1 trade. Picked up FF #2 yesterday at Crush Comics in Castro Valley so now I can binge on FF; was shocked that A-1 (as well as two shops in Davis) didn't have FF #2 at all... Ah well.

List for this week is short:

Hawkeye #10
ANXM #11
Green Arrow #20
(I swear you had better be good or I'm dropping)

I may go back and pick up NA #2 & Avengers #3 as they're the only floppy issues I don't have in my current collection.

Sorta OT but I flipped through Vader's Little Princess last week and it was fantastic. I liked it a bit more than Darth Vader & Son only because it spanned Leia's childhood through her teenage years.

Not too big of a week, but of course most of them are $3.99 books. :p

Age of Ultron #7
All-New X-Men #11
Hawkeye #10
Superior Spider-Man #9
Thanos Rising #2
Ultimate Comics X-Men #26

I can't tell. This him being salty?

He's joking about the plethora of comics sites that basically only cover whatever publishers, and mainly Marvel and DC, send them. Previews, interview hookups, etc. No shortage of outlets that are dominated by reworded press releases.

CA was the big comics site that didn't feature press releases and previews as their main content.

Some of us prefer to not get all of our comic news from DC.com.

Surprised I managed to never hear about it. I cast a fairly wide net of sites and still managed to like never hear about it.

Any word as to why it was shut down? Lack of traffic? Or just a sinking AOL shedding content?

Gotcha. Couldn't tell between salt or sarcasm. Guess it could be both.

AOL also killed most of its online music sites.

Co-founder Laura Hudson (who left mid-2012) suggests it had nothing to do with performance. Probably a more strategic decision. Gotta kill everything that's not already on Huffington Post!

It was not performance. They were profitable to the end.

Anyone got any suggestions for sites to replace ComicsAlliance? My go-to sites were always that and Bleeding Cool (with the latter for more gossipy news, and the former for longer editorials.)

Nope. I mean, David Brothers' blog, of course, but there's no other site like CA.
