Tell me more. :)
Its the best battle scene in any superhero movie to date. Everyone get their moment to shine.
Cant wait to see what the Russos will do with Groot.

And my bro Spidey fucking ruled. Finally something that can uphold to the Train Battle with Doctor Octopu in Spider-Man 2

My copy of Elektra Assassin arrived today. Was pretty excited until I opened up the packaging to see a damaged book. Fuck u Amazon learn to fucking package your comics. You would think theyd actually save money from better packaging given how often they have to do exchanges.

I don't trust them to deliver my Uncharted 4 copy without the case being broken, i'm hopeful but willing to return. Cases matter people. Would you keep a book with a creased dust jacket?

Also, yeah, Amazon cares not for comics, i gave up on them after several dented Hellboy Library editions.

Miracleman - Red King Syndrome (#5-#10): That was pretty good. Didn't enjoy it as much as the first vol, but good nevertheless. Some great art even if the six issues seemed to have four different artists.

A few questions

1) The chapters always seem small. Was this originally serialized in a magazine or something?

2) I see that the writer's name isn't listed anywhere on the cover and is only mentioned as "The Original Writer" inside the book. (Including in a speech bubble in supplemental material at the end of the book). Was this a requirement of the new rights deal?

3) Why can't Alan Moore write a series without rape in it?

Onto the third volume now.

People still buy graphic novels from Amazon? Their packaging is shit for books. Same story with Barnes & Noble.

Lately every time I open a new game the disc is out and one of the plastic pieces that you push to pop out the disc is loose. It angers me.

Unless your buying a newly released comic, don't go to Amazon. Otherwise your chances are always 50-50.

Still working through SecAv v2. Maaan, i just like Taskmaster. Reminds me of flash's rogues, except for the no killing bit, obv. Dude just wants a payday.

Also hill makes a pretty decent "villain".

Also wtf at real nick fury. Thought this took place after Original Sin.

Probably Moore trying to pay homage to the original series.

As for the rape, cant' recall it having occurred during, ironically, Crossed 100. Kinda funny, really. Might be because i haven't finished reading that.

Fwiw can't recall a single time moore used rape gratuitously either. Even Mr Hyde's was pretty in character, given that, yknow, Hyde.

I do it because I have to for most books I would want physically.

IST charges and duty would cripple me, and the Book Depository sends every item in its' own envelope. Best case scenario: long walk from the depo with a million envelopes. Worst case scenario: postman puts the smaller books in my tiny mailbox and BENDS THEM IN HALF. This happened to me more than once. He also does this with shirts sometimes, but that is less of a problem.

1) Yeah, it was originally published in the UK in black and white in a magazine called Warrior. By the time it gets revived by Eclipse in the United States under the Miracleman name, the Warrior stuff gets recoloured and new material is published as full length issues I believe

2) I think Moore just wanted nothing to do with Marvel (long standing beef here that goes back to his Marvel UK days) or the fuckery that is the Miracleman rights

3) idk it's just one of those things he returns to

Cant you solve with a sticker in the vein of "no ads!"? Just with "dont bend packages"

Look man, my postman is crazy. I get three lots of all junk mail because my mailbox for the block I live in is on top, so he just shoves all the shit into mine. That, and the last tenants left the country without paying rent for months so I've had tons of court summons and other crap shoved into my mailbox (important note: these were not addressed to me), but I give that to the estate agent. We've told them these people don't live here and haven't for years *insert Simpsons "all the previous owners of this house could still be in here" meme here*.

I also got nine Census forms. And sixteen polling cards for the last election.

It's an all-ages comic, really.

It's available in a one-volume B&W edition (with the shittiest, most transparent paper ever), individual color volumes, or a one-volume color edition that tends to run pretty expensive. I got it for about $80 from Amazon. IST wants $120.

I liked the art in Bone.

Felt the story was so-so.

Thought Bone was average

I found Invincible Vol1-3 to be better than a lot of Marvel/Dc stuff.

Edit: I read all of bone/rose
Huh. I recall reading a lot more positive stuff in here as well as other places. It's an adventure comic? That's nice. I might check that out. Need to catch back up on OnePiece first, though. And D. Gray-man, with it's quarterly-ass chapters.

Would you guys recommend Bone in color or B&W? Same question for Scott Pilgrim?

...why the fuck would they ditch spencer for 2 shitty pretty much independent Infinity tie-in issues with a different writer, then have him back (+kot) for the final 5 ishs? what the heck was happening here?

Scott Pilgrim, definitely colour. It's really well done and adds a lot. Plus dem hardbacks are sweet as hell.

I read Bone in B&W, because that's what the library had, but I think that would probably be better in colour as well.

I got a good hull this week. Still sad I have to get Velocity from Amazon but I made up for it.

Space Riders was my biggest surprise purchase once I discovered my shop had like 4 copies on the shelf. The Jim Mahfood coloring book interested me but I don't know if I'm going to color it.

Read Captain America White, it was a pretty good out of continuity miniseries, and is very rooted in classic Cap which was nice to see, as I quite enjoy the Simon/Kirby run. I'm not a big fan of Loeb outside of his stuff with Tim Sale, but this was enjoyable. And Red Skull as a proper Nazi, not nerfed like in the TFA movie is always good.

It was weird seeing Bucky without a machine gun or knife, since I'm very used to the Brubaker portrayal which retconned him being just a sidekick who discovered Cap as a cover story put out by the US government.

I loved that one page with the Kirby-Style fight between Cap and the other guy. The one with the Kirby dedication.

That was brilliant, total Kirby homage. The facial expressions of the soldiers when they're beat up is very nostalgic. The colours are also just right.

Hey look it's Freeza's American privilege.

Pls. You guys still get new movies first. How is it living in the future?

Huh. I recall reading a lot more positive stuff in here as well as other places.

You forget this place is basically turning into Rotten Tomatoes for comics.

Definitely go with the color editions if you can. Otherwise you're limited to B&W in manga-sized books.

The only time I've ever had to return a book to Amazon was because of a printing error, I've never received a damaged book. Granted there are like three fulfillment centers within 90 minutes of our house, but the point stands. The only time I use IST is for expensive stuff where Amazon's discount isn't comparable.

It's lovely in color. Definitely go with that for SP.

Can't help you with Bone

I've read Bone mostly in color, just a few floppy issues in B&W. Bone looks great in color IMO.

It's fantasy with elements of Scrooge McDuck.

Bone in colour is the best, It makes the world come alive.
Very much appreciated. I may check it out. Both Bone and Scott Pilgrim in color. Which is good for SP in particular, since my LCS has those in stock. All of it, actually.

Shop around for the best price you can get on the Bone one-volume color edition. I think list on that sucker is $150.

Rhaknar

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
I should stop reading current comics for a night and instead go back to the Priest Black Panther run I stopped in anticipation of T'challa MCU debut tomorow

So you're saying it's better than Blink kicking sentinel ass in DoFP?

Felt pretty gratuitous in Neonomicon to me. It just stands out when he uses sexual assault as a plot device in each and every one of his works.

That explains the story telling cadence. Thanks.

Yeah originally in a magazine before collected in singles.

When Marvel approached Moore he told them hes fine with them reprinting them as long he doesnt get credit and all the money hed get instead goes to Mick Anglo. He also seemed to resent how he wrote the book.

Edit: someone asked Moore why he always wrote rape in. His answer? 'Well it happens, so what do you want me to do, not include it?' Hmm yes Mr Moore

Dont get me wrong comics are a mistake, but shouldnt I get to be the judge of that when I purchase it?

Yeah only bought from Amazon because the price was fair and IST was not in stock.

Well, there had to be a positive to living near Kentucky :p

Spider-Man 2099 1 and 2 were decent. I don't particularly like Miguel as a character but I find the overall story interesting.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Standoff was fantastic.

Marvels on a good streak with events, Civil War II might actually be decent at this rate.

There needs to be a damn meeting on how many hands Alfred has and it needs to be stuck to. Most annoying continuity error to me.

Edit: guess I should have just read the page first lol that's kinda dumb.

Ultimates wasn't bad. It didn't advance the main plot much, but it was a good read. The fill-in artist was pretty good. Is Ward the artist on ODY-C? Looks like the same style.
