Damn I said no more going nuts on sales but I think I have to buy all of Rachel Rising

I'm going to buy the first issue or trade and go from there, read that before the sale ends and decide. The book is only on sale because there are no colors. Where are the colors?

Also i turned on the Rockets game, they remind me of the Knicks.

Oh nooooo, so I missed the Lumberjanes sale where I planned to pick the three issues not included in the hulble bundle.
So, I already asked but the fuck given that day was in the negative zone : is there a defined rythm to CMX sales ? I mean is there one or more days in the week when you know that there will be a new sale ?

They have a new sale pretty much every day. Monday's are Marvel Monday's. Not sure what the schedule is beyond that though.

Bone is in color though. It's just that the world (and people, rat things, etc.) are black and white.

edit: wait we're talking about rachel rising why am I even awake

Terry Moores art looks stunning in black and white. I think it would lose something if it was colored. I love his art, it's so consistent.

BTW in Rachel Rising he draws all the snow and snowflakes by hand. As you read the book the magnitude of that task will become apparent.

Don't do that.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Don't watch that movie. Just read Geoff Johns' run.

What?
Just read the Geoff Johns' run.

Yeah, but the second Omnibus goes vor insane prices here... So its a stupid situation.
I will hope for an upcoming Deluxe Edition at some point.
And I know that the movie is bad (Will put it in a yellow case afterwards...), so I wont burn my interest for Green Lantern with this :D

Absolutely. I really enjoyed both books.
Like I've said, ANXM is really good up until Ultimate Adventure. That arc is pure filler, and the last arc, The Utopians, is really underwhelming. Should have been fleshed out more. Before Ultimate Adventure, it's a pretty good run. Assuming you remove Battle of the Atom from your mind.
Which you wouldn't expect with a name like Wolf Blitzer.

It's not that the movie is bad, it's that it's so average as to be completely forgettable. Like, people ask me "oh how was that?" All I can say to that is "It exists. It's definitely a movie." The only thing it will add to your life is a memory, one that provides no positives nor negatives to your life.

This is so amazing.
Need to replay Alan Wake 1. Such a amazing game. Loved every second of it. I hope they dont go to the original concept with the open world.

Alan Wake 2 will be an on-rails Kinect game

That would require them to remember that Kinect exists.

Still sour over how that happened to Fable. I'd like a Fable IV someday.

Interested in the PC stuff from MS. The UWA stuff sucks, but it is what it is. Hoping for Gears 4 and some form of Halo.

The Iron Fist casting thread is going places.

I feel kind of sorry for Marvel, honestly. No matter what they did, people were going to be pissed.

I probably won't watch it anyway. Even if I was into comic book TV, or indeed TV in general that's not Simpsons reruns, wrasslin' or American Crime Story: The People vs. John Travolta's UNHOLY! ACTING! TALENT~!, there's not really enough compelling material for an Iron Fist series, at least, compelling to people who aren't us.

I've only read the first trade of Wolverine and the X-Men, but I enjoyed it a lot. Very fun book. Haven't read the other. Out of the Marvel NOW! pre-Secret Wars X-books (seems more ridiculous when typed), I'd recommend Spurrier's X-Force and Bendis' Uncanny X-Men. The ones I've read obviously.

EDIT: If we're counting Wolverine books, I'd recommend Old Man Logan. Haven't read All-New Wolverine.

Yes to Wolverine and the X-Men, X-Men was booooooooring as shit.

Btw read the current Wolverine solo book. It's about X-23 taking the Wolverine mantle after Logan died. It's amazing.
Thank you both very much! All my questions are answered.

Forgot to respond....

It's pretty good, it takes place in a different universe where all the X-men are potatoes, but the story is great and compensates.

It's pure unadulterated garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in 2000, Marvel decides to revamp the X-Men. They make a big fuss about it, call it "Revolution", and put Chris Claremont, that Chris Claremont, the "Dark Phoenix Saga" Chris Claremont, the Chris Claremont in the sentence "The best selling comic book of all time is 1991's X-Men #1 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee" in charge.

It's a bust, the books are pretty bad, and, with Bryan Singer's first X-Men film bringing some attention to the franchise, they have to rethink their strategy.

And so, in july 2001, enters Grant Morrison, famous for his DC work, you might have heard of it, it's a little masterpiece called Animal Man / Doom Patrol / Kill Your Boyfriend / Flex Mentallo / JLA / DC One Million / The Invisibles. After two mini-series (Marvel Boy and Fantastic Four: 1,2,3,4), he comes to the X-Men with a mission : he's gonna make mutants cool again.

And boy oh boy, he does. It's basically a sleeker, smarter and generally more modern greatest hits collection, remixing the classic Claremont stories with counter-culture twists and turns, and unparalleled world- and culture-building, digging deep into what makes mutants their own thing.

With him on art are some of his usual co-workers, like Frank Quitely. And also some guy named Igor Kordey.

It's great comics, and not just that. It's become one of modern Marvel's founding texts, when it comes to all things mutants, with Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force, Jason Aaron's Wolverine and the X-Men and Jonathan Hickman's Avengers making repeated references to it, and building up on some of its ideas.

BUY THAT GODDAMN BOOK.

The first two thirds are really good. Assault on Weapon X is an okay arc, Planet X is garbage, Future is mildly okay. Art is spotty all around, save for Silvestri. I would highly recommend it despite my qualms with it. Much like Claremont's Uncanny, it influences a lot of modern X-Men mythos (E for Extinction is still heavily referenced). Plus, Whedon's Astonishing is sort of a loose sequel, meaning that while you don't have to read Morrison's run, it gives Whedon's book a lot more impact if you do.

And it's not an alternate universe. It's main 616 continuity.

Not an ultimate universe, just a new era sort of thing. There's a reason the previous printing still goes for a fair stack of cash even after the reprint has been announced. It's great.

Thanks for all responses. Looks like Brian is the only one who doesn't think the book is worth a buy.

Since All New XMen omnibus is mainline Marvel universe, I feel compelled to buy it. I hope it lives up to the hype.

It's pretty good to see some of these books getting reprints, I am definitely not going to miss UXF the next time it comes around.

Same, except for that I do own the UXF omnibus. I'm looking forward to the AoA omnibus reprint. I hope Astonishing XMen omni gets a reprint.

Not All-New; just New. It's excellent. Don't listen to Brian; his opinions are generally bad.
:p
