I FINALLY bought The Complete Calvin and Hobbes box set (paperback version):

41lyB8ZI1yL._SX258_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

I've wanted this for a long time. I know I really only got into comics in the last eight months, but I have been a Calvin and Hobbes fan for a long time, before I ever cared about comics. Despite that, there's still TONS of it I haven't read. I estimate that I've read probably 10-15% of it at most. So this will for the most part be completely new, AND I'll have a much bigger appreciation for the great artistry of Bill Waterson (I didn't really care nor pay attention to the art back in the day, regrettably).

Should be here by Friday according to USPS tracking.

Yo Tim. I've been watching KI all weekend. We should play. Same with poodle.

(Even though I've barely played the game)

I've barely played it either :p

Button mashed my way to Aria in TJ's storyline a while back, got WRECKED, put it down XD

I have been meaning to get back into it tho.

Calvin and Hobbes is some god-tier stuff.

Yeah, it is a great collection. I tried to bring my copy back from my parent's house this last holiday but it was too heavy...

You should get this too, if you don't have it. It makes a great companion to that box set.

I had a look into the Street Fighter Beta thread to get some impressions

feels a bit like this:

I have no idea what any of them are talking about.

I think I like Mortal Kombat better than Street Fighter, though. It's easier to pick up and play. I'll probably end up double-dipping and grabbing MKXL.

Street Fighter crowd is 2 hardcore 4 me m8.

I hope Trump wins Iowa tmw. First Zero vol 4 lets me down, then the Spurs tank to the Cavs, then i'm watching this movie called Contracted on Netflix and it's really slow and iffy, i just need an entertainment win.

Once again I've fallen terribly far behind on my comics backlog. There's just so much to read, and I've been so busy with work.

On the upside, I finally finished issue #3 of my comic book, The Gamma Gals! It's up on Amazon and Indy Planet right now, and it got approved by comixology, so I'm just waiting for them to let me know when it's going to go live. I'll start drawing issue #4 on Monday. It takes me about three months to do the pencilling, inking, coloring, and lettering, so that issue won't be complete until April, but damn does it feel good to have three in the bag finally!

This initial run is just four issues, with issues #5 and #6 being stand alone annuals. Those won't be finished until July and October, respectively. It feels like just yesterday that I was nervously trying to complete a single issue. It's been awesome.

Unfortunately, it's eaten up so much of my free time that I slacked on my comic collection. I'm at least two or three months behind. :(

I've been living vicariously through reading this thread.

Meant to reply to this earlier. Glad to hear you've been continuing your work! Making comics is very grueling and rewarding. It takes me about half a year to finish an issue haha Getting one done in 3 months is pretty impressive.

Argh, it makes me so sad that I can't get The Goon Library Edition Vol 2 on the 3rd. But I just can't afford any more books right now. :( (I bought the Calvin and Hobbes collection with money from something I returned on Amazon.)

Will do!

The Black Flash stuff was Morrison/Millar and is coming out this spring - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401261027/?tag=neogaf0e-20
I need to get this too. I'm really glad DC is reprinting all this Flash stuff. I've wanted to get into the character forever so it's perfect for me.

Ha, and I don't like MK/NRS games at all. So stiff and awkward looking to play and watch. I like mostly everything else though. I plan on going to Evo this year.

Actually, the most offensive thing to me about Street Fighter is that Capcom is going right back to DLC-mode after they said they wouldn't.

Can't you just unlock the DLC characters by playing a lot? That's what they've been saying.

I read something today saying that if you do everything in the base game, it should net you enough fight money for the first DLC character. They have to make it more appealing to just buy things outright. And the season pass includes 1 premium costume for each character, which it claims are worth $4 each. $4 costumes? Capcom pls.

I'll take the SFV approach than the constant disc updates that happened with SFIV or what aksys does with Guilty Gear. It'll drive completionists nuts because they'll be pumping out characters, costumes, etc like crazy

Hopefully banging my head against the wall in multiplayer will add up to enough fight money by the time some of those characters roll out.

Shutter is easily one of my top 5 favorite books on the stands. I think it goes.

Saga
Low
Shutter
Deadly Class
Rumble

For the record I don't count Sejic books on these lists, it's just not fair.

These image books make it very hard to recommend anything else.

Sejic books don't count because those stands are in the back where no one can see the lewdness.

Thanks! I can't believe I'm almost done with this thing! It really does feel good to have come this far. The physical copy of Issue #3 actually arrived in the mail today!

It's so satisfying to be able to hold them in my hands and turn the pages! Even though I mainly created them for digital distribution, there's just something that makes it feel so much more "real" when I can feel the paper under my fingertips. I'm really looking forward to getting started on the artwork for Issue #4. I've written a few pages of Issue #5, and I'll try to have a first draft of that done in the coming weeks while I produce the penciled and inked pages of Issue #4. It usually takes me about a month and a half (sometimes longer), to do the penciling and inking, and then another month to do the coloring and lettering.

I'd be able to produce the issues faster, but I'm squeezing the drawing in between my 8-5 job, and spending time with my wife. So far, I have a good method/production pipeline going.
