I mean, how shitty are we talking? Ordering a comic from a major publisher shouldn't be a difficult thing to for any comic shop

Like I'll ask the guy multiple times and he never gets around to it. That store's not the most well-run joint anyway... lol guess I'll just have to bug the guy at the other shop about it. Was hoping the comic would get enough reprints to just snag it online though ):

Finally got around to reading Ex Machina, I've had the full run for 2 years but hadn't read it, so far I read 2 volumes and it's damn good. No surprise really since I'm a huge BKV fan, so I'm most impressed with the art, which is fantastic so far.

Marvel has skated by without a cohesive vision on the backs of relentlessly talented writers who are nearly all gone to Image now.

This will not end well.

That Ms. America book better have a killer team that is delivering something beyond what the fans want cuz if it's just playing it safe then it's done after issue 5.

Marvel Now is spinning out of Civil War 2 so that's just an assumption on your part lol. IIRC you were the one that said you wanted to come out of it that will affect the line and that seems to be happening with the characters on this poster being "divided" for some reason we don't know yet.

Why is Stephen on the kids' side.
We'll find out at the end of Civil War 2. If anything I would be questioning Prowler lol.

The ANAD promo that had everyone like this didn't mean everyone on it got solos.

Btw, I'll be in NYC for a week starting 20/7. Anything I should check out, comic related or not?

I doubt the Citizen V thing is going to happen. I'm guessing they changed their plans for Zemo given Standoff and Steve's book.
Remind me, didn't Bendis and Alonso say CWII was something Bendis came up with as a event when most writers had already turned in their plot outlines and were just waiting for SW to end(which is probably why Kate Leth was a bit pissed that Bendis removed Shulkie from her book when she still had stories to tell with her)? IIRC they claimed the book went from idea to paper in 6 months instead of 1 or 2 years.

Love & Rockets is returning as a magazine

Jaime and Beto have been doing it as an annual series for the past decade but they're going to be doing this new magazine every four months for the newest volume. Pretty cool to see! Maybe I'll be caught up by then.

i still haven't finished maggie the mechanic ;_;

It gets so much better past that first arc too

I'm only on Penny Century myself. I haven't even gotten to Beto's stuff yet :(

The Penny Century trade is OOP and ex-library books are going for $60 plus. -_- I think I'll go ahead and read the HC and skip the missing stories for now.

I just read the new Captain America issue and so far this run is really interesting. I'm really glad Spencer fixed
Sin's face because the Red Skull look doesn't look right on any other character.

I honestly don't remember lol.

Looking at that Marvel Now 2.0 image I can't tell if some of those costumes suck when not in Cartoonish styles or is the art just bad.

She better be after we waited 3 years for her solo to come out and all other movie guardians have already had their solos announced and released.
I don't want solo books for any of them, I just think she looks cool.

The only solo stuff I might go back to is Star-Lord because that's where Kitty Pryde is.

Um, how's that?

The logo itself tells you this is against the very idea of cohesion. It says "DIVIDED".

I don't care if there are forty different takes on the MU as long as they're by 40 different visionaries. These past few months have shown that marvel has like three. All the Inhumans books stink, the X-books suck. DC has realized that they can take a 60% B, 35% A List set of creators and turn out a cohesive line because there's one person's creative vision behind it. Johns changed how the entire line is developed creatively.

Marvel has never done that and never proposed to do that but it used to not matter because Remender and Hickman drove the whole line forward through sheer force of will. They're gone. Ewing and Waid are killing all their books but they aren't running shit. Bendis is still half amazing, half wack but has never been able to direct an entire line. If anyone has been given that role it's, shudder, Soule. And I like 10% of his books. (To be fair, that's like 49 comics).

Jason Aaron has been slowly walling himself off in his books so the whole thing is just sinking into the sea, now that he's the best writer they got left. Wilson is developing a great stable of writers, but then their books get their legs cut out by event fatalities.

I like MUs approach theoretically more than DCs because theoretically it leads to a more diverse stable of books. But a diverse array of garbage is still garbage. At least if there was some thought behind it all that garbage would feel like it added up to something.

This could all change if they come out and have a cohesive vision for Avengers and X-Men at least, but all the "cohesion" I was hoping for from CWII is just Ulysses popping his head in and making a prediction and then popping off to the next book.

I'll see, though, as I haven't read this week's crossovers yet.

God, I really hoped we wouldn't get a year of people mistrusting each other again but I guess we are.

With most of my favorite Marvel books cancelled or ending I think I'm switching over to mainly DC. Helps that the books aren't as expensive.

I prefer Aaron off in his corner. He's one of the best writers Marvel has ever had, but good lord was Original Sin bad.

I suspect here is the editorial at fault.
The first couple of issues were really really good.

Still, I have no clue about that Midas thing. It was so pointless...
