So I'm thinking about picking Red Lanterns back up, is the crossover done this month?

Yeah it's just one month. Just Annual #2 to finish it out. I'd suggest getting the back issues with Guy, though. They're pretty good and only the one issue is a tie in and even then it continues the main story threads.

My favorite Batgirl has always been Barbara. This is in large part due to the animated series, however; I just never got into any of the other Batgirl's that came after her. Cassandra Cain is just sort of boring. She doesn't do anything for me. Stephanie, on the other hand, comes across as an adrenaline junkie who'll do anything to get that high which is more interesting but her back story kind of irks me.

Carrie Kelly from Dark Knight is probably my second favorite. She had that same sort of energy and enthusiasm that Barbara gave me.

I find your thoughts and ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

I'm a Babs fan as well. Love that she's Gordon's daughter, her attitude, the red hair, and yeah the Animated series influenced that love a lot. To me Steph will always be The Spoiler, that's just how she's locked in my brain.

Yo, comic gaf.

since Stephanie is coming back next year, and Barbara is still bat girl. Is she gonna get shot again, or some thing bad, or is Stephanie going to be robin or the spoiler for a while.

Steph is gonna be Spoiler.

Also, Steph > Babs > Cass as Batgirls go.

You know who know one ever talks about, flamebirld.

Though she is a batgirl the same way huntress is batman's daughter. Edit, I'm sorry Hawk fire.

When DC upgrades its systems, a lot of funny weird things get caught up in the ether, for better and worse.

I'm posting my list early since I'll be busy tomorrow.

Action Comics Annual #2
Aquaman Annual #1
Damian Son Of Batman #1
Forever Evil A.R.G.U.S. #1
Green Lantern Annual #2
Nightwing Annual #1
Swamp Thing Annual #2
Teen Titans Annual #2

It's a lite week.

The finale of Simon Spurrier's Numbercruncher mini series is so wild. I have so many thoughts and questions. Too bad I have no one to talk to about it. Hopefully some of you will pick up the collection when it drops in January.

Thanks for all of those recommendations. Already ordered the Mad Love and Runaways, will order most of the rest too.

Two great first picks. You should read them too.

I read vol 2 and 3 of Y: The Last Man today. This book is fantastic. I need to order more off Amazon.

This is what I'm waiting for. Dunno why but it just turned out that way, I would normally have been all over it asap because it's Spurrier. Still that's not too far away and I have loads of other shit to read in the meantime.

Spent much of yesterday afternoon at Forbidden Planet, and I couldn't help myself sooo I bought some stuff.

In honor of that awesome Winter Soldier trailer that dropped on Thursday, I picked up the Brubaker WS Ultimate Collection. It is as excellent as everyone said it was, and now I'm gonna have to hunt down the rest of his run.

The second thing I bought was Animal Man Vol. 3, which collected all of the Rotworld stuff, plus the aftermath. I didn't quite know what to expect, but I liked it for the most part. I think the one thing that's helped Animal Man is the artwork, Travel Foreman and Steve Pugh really do a good job with the creepy body horror parts of the book.

One question: did anyone ever get slightly ticked with Ellen during the story?

I wish the N52 book hadn't been cancelled. The cartoon has left such a void in me. :c

The book wasn't all that good. Why they took him away from Dakota and all of his supporting characters I will never understand. It was just such a dumb move. He had a great cast back there.

What in your opinion is the scariest comic you have ever read? Like it actually disturbed you. I'm not talking gore really but the writer and artist were truly able to make you feel tense.

I'm relatively new still so only one book comes to mind and that would be Batman #13. The GCPD scene and the scene with Harley at the end were really creepy.

I haven't read many horror comics but I think I'd have to say The Walking Dead. THAT moment in the 17th trade. Was it issue 100? I think so.

Edit: Hack/Slash is on sale? Oh man. Reading the current Hack/Slash vs Army of Darkness series has me wanting to pick up the Hack/Slash omnis. I don't do digital but I encourage folks to check it out.

They had one of the original writers of the comic on board, but he said the artist and editor took over and pushed him to the side.

Sandman's 6th issue, "24 hours" was sickening to me the first time I read it.

So Static got boned by DC editorial? Shocking. They have so many great properties but no idea how to use them, it's insane.

Snyder fits some really chilling moments into Severed, you should check that out. Locke and Key has some brutally "Oh no" moments. Sweet Tooth Is full of tense oh god moments for the characters, and there's a particular bit in that series that disturbs me to no end.

The enjoyment i have in opening a dcbs shipment rivals that of reading the comics Xp

That might speak negatively of the comics...but oh well!

Is that the issue with the group of people stuck in the diner? That would be my pick as well. Really disturbing without relying on in your face ultra-violence like Walking Dead 100.
