So, this exists.

I love these absurd crossovers in the vein of Superman Vs Muhammad Ali. There's another one where Billy Cyrus travels to medieval times.

Man, so apparently IST's solution to massive books like the Hellboy Library Editions is just a sea of packing peanuts. I'll upload the pictures later when I get a chance (off to my local con shortly).

Yeah. Any IST order I've received that had at least one OHC (AKA all of my orders except for one) have been in packing peanuts rather than the fancy packing they're known for. It doesn't bother me at all, because it's still fantastic packaging and everything always arrives in perfect condition. It is slightly annoying having to avoid spilling packing peanuts everywhere when getting my books out though.

SO I got a couple of those future's end issues since i have more money than sense. In Tec, did Batman really
hand over the Riddler to be killed/savagely beaten/cornholed at the end?
That's fucked up.

Action was interesting but that art was super weird with all the ziptone everywhere.

The most annoying thing about these stories is how inconsequential they feel. Here is a future that will definitely not happen! Yaaaay?

It's pretty much always the case with big crossovers, there's the odd gem like Hitman 1,000,000 but most of the tie-in books are instantly forgettable.

Anyone read Remender's End League?

I read the first volume. I don't remember much except that it was insane and the Thor-alike was the best character. It was good enough that I'll reread it whenever I pick up the second volume, but not super memorable since I forget about it unless I see it on my shelf.

Yeah but even 1,000,000 was crazy ambitious with the books that month. Full multi issue arcs in Superman and Batman (Batman had two parallel arcs, that was clever), fleshing out the main event in Starman and Resurrection Man and Green Lantern and then all the weird little gems like Hitman and Chase... man it was great.

This is just a bunch of one shots about a world I just can't get excited in, despite having read all of Future's End already (I'm keeping it on because it's so awful it's kind of become entertaining. Every time there's a nondescript lab or bar I cheer a little. It's like a low budget TV show but their currency is imagination). I just can't shake knowing that not only will the timeline soon be irrelevant, but that the differences are so mundane. It should be crazy, full of revelations and mad leaps. But it's not. Huh.

It's cool that they use this month as try out for new writers though, that's a good thing.

You know, I still kinda want to read Axis and Spider-Verse, but finishing Original Sin just really makes me want to give up on these events altogether.

Why are people so interested in Spider-Gwen? I mean, she's not a particularly interesting character, I don't think. It's a cool costume admittedly, but that's all we've seen, right?

Robbi Rodriguez working for the big-2 is why I'm excited. Aside from how great that outfit is, I just love the dude's art, and I'm hoping this leads to even bigger work.

Maybe that was a bad example and I should have mentioned Millenium or Invasion or even Zero Hour (The one where the sun went out?), but I read a couple of these this week and I'm not sure I could tell you what happened in them. I could talk about God Hates Astronauts in detail though.

Fair enough, I'm not familiar. All these calls for a Gwen ongoing seemed to be based on nothing, is all.

I always thought Ultimate Gwen was a more interesting character.

Speaking of, is Miles or Ultimate Peter going to be involved in Spider-Verse?

A look can evoke a feeling which can spurn a movement. Look at the massive, positive buzz that Batgirl had, with basically nothing more than a few character sketches for a new outfit. You had people cosplaying it that same day. Obviously we don't know how that'll translate to sales, but it's easy to understand, these days, why it could get people excited.

I agree. Also, with Spider-verse, we're in some parallel universe/multiverse renaissance, so it's totally playing off of all the fun ass parallel universe stories that we've been getting recently, from both Marvel and DC.

I wish I could get more hyped for Spider-Verse. I've always loved Spider-Man, first character I ever read, but I'm not loving Amazing Spider-Man and I'm not a big Slott fan generally. Couple art and the concept will get me to read it though.

What are the chances Slott ends his run with Spider-Verse?

Nobody know, but I think the chances are rather high. What he does sounds like a send-off for him.

Have you tried his Silver Surfer? It's really charming and just a damn good space adventure story. Art is great as well.

Spider verse confused the shit out of me. Did it begin yet??? I'm not even sure. I didn't follow the schedule at all.
Its startig in October. In September, we get Edge of Spider-Verse, were we get some One Shots about alternate Spideys like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man Noir and a new Sci-Fi-Spidey.

I'll have to go on Comixology and get what I missed. It wasn't intentional, my hype was just placed elsewhere.

That one released already right? I'll have to get that shit asap.

I know this sounds kind of weird, but I've been more preoccupied writing my own books than keeping up with the events of the month.

Not out yet.

I've only seen that Superior Spider-Man issue with the edge of Spider-Verse banner.

Oh, I misread your post--nah, no Spider-Gwen yet.

Also, what are ya writing?

Decided I didn't want to wait for the price drops and bought/read the last two issues of Year Zero. Great arc and the best so far in the Snyder new 52 run. That ending was really powerful.

Oh and I hope the OT will eventually tire of the new thread for every bad headline against police in America trend or just consolidate it all so more threads are on the first page

Yo that looks really good. I might by that, even, and i wasn't planning on buying any of the Futures End stuff
