Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
did you see this:
Yes, while we all hate Destin, in this case he's literally just reposting a tweet.

Microsoft are a cancer on this industry.
I am going to be "that guy" and say that a big problem with this was likely COVID.They released 8 full-scale games in 10 years (1.25 games/year avg) only to spend SIX years on Contraband with nothing to show for it. GaaS and its repercussions have been a disaster for the human race.
2006: Just Cause
2009: The Hunter
2010: Just Cause 2
2011: Renegade Ops
2015: The Hunter: Primal, Mad Max, Just Cause 3
2018: Just Cause 4
2019: Rage 2
yep. it's one thing to re-arrange the deck chairs on the titanic, & another entirely to start throwing them overboard...At this point I feel like they've taken far, far more than they've given and that the games industry would have been better without them from day one.
I won't miss them.
Didn't even know this was a thing. Did JC5 die for this?
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on Rage 2. I played it just a few weeks ago and had a blast. It might've helped my perception of it because I bought it on a sale for $20.I am going to be "that guy" and say that a big problem with this was likely COVID.
But then Just Cause 4 was awful and Rage 2 also sucked. Maybe there was a talent exodus.
MS/Xbox officially has the worst studio management in Videogames history...What a waste of 4 years dev time, but this is what Microsoft does, they always have and will continue to do so. no faith in or for TES 6 or Fallout 5.
Yep, they acquired a lot of the games i played on PC especially with Bethesda and i wasn't happy about it at the time because of their track record and low and behold it's still happening, not that Bethesda were putting out great games since Fallout 76, but Prey and Dishonored 2 in 2016 and 17 are great games. nearly 10 years ago now.MS/Xbox officially has the worst studio management in Videogames history...
And they now own 50% of all major Western Publishing IPs....![]()

Maybe, but without them the PC wouldn't have became this popular as a gaming platform and we would have online information of a Nintendo switch for online games.Microsoft are a cancer on this industry.

Exactly Microsoft funded the studio and should of been a lot more hands on in those 5 years, you can't just blame the devs and leave out MS, that's ridiculous, they own the studio, their money, they didn't bother checking in on them, story end of.Microsoft hasn't done anything here besides fund a studio for 5 years and all we've seen is a logo.
No gameplay, no screenshots, nothing.
If you were paying people to build a house and 5 years in you still had a vacant lot you would tell them to fuck off as well. Studios need to be held responsible at some point, the same way Sony & Microsoft let several of these studios have to much leeway sinking 100s of millions with nothing to show for it.
They don't own the studio and I doubt Xbox likes to fund games for 4 years to drop themExactly Microsoft funded the studio and should of been a lot more hands on in those 5 years, you can't just blame the devs and leave out MS, that's ridiculous, they own the studio, their money, they didn't bother checking in on them, story end of.
Obviously not or they wouldn't have cancelled the game, but even if they don't own them, they should of got at least a few updates in that time, and it's still a waste of time and money in the end isn't it, no game!.They don't own the studio and I doubt Xbox likes to fund games for 4 years to drop them
People like you need to get a gripObviously not or they wouldn't have cancelled the game, but even if they don't own them, they should of got at least a few updates in that time, and it's still a waste of time and money in the end isn't it, no game!.
How about you get a grip and stop blindly defending a company when they screw up, are you a console warrior, shove your insults, i was using MS products long before your Xbox existed, don't like my opinion, tough!. you lot should grow up.People like you need to get a grip
I doubt any corp spends millions of dollars developing a product only to never release it. I would guess it was getting to the point where it would take too much time and money to finish. I'm really gutted as I bet it would have been fun and I loved the 70s vib
I get why this happened, but Xbox need shagging for the mess that was Perfect Dark reboot mind
Troll... what part of shagging do you not understand? How about you get a grip and stop blindly defending a company when they screw up, are you a console warrior, shove your insults, i was using MS products long before your Xbox existed, don't like my opinion, tough!. you lot should grow up.
How am i a troll, when i said it was a waste of 4 years of time and money to cancel a game,, you've just proved what you are by your response, run along.Troll... what part of shaging do you not understand?
Nice try, but how am I 'blindly defending a company when they screw up'? When saying Xbox needs shagging over Perfect Dark? How am i a troll, when i said it was a waste of 4 years of time and money to cancel a game,, you've just proved what you are by your response, run along.
Be Xbox > Launch console. Announce 20 games to drum up interest. Wait 6 years. Cancel them all.
Yet there are so many who cheer for them.Microsoft are a cancer on this industry.
This is exactly why they did, they needed something to pad their non existent line up.I'm starting to believe they just bought Activision and Bethesda because otherwise they would only have Forza in 2025 lmao.
Yet there are so many who cheer for them.
They were also working on Just Cause 5 for Square Enix, before the publisher pulled the plug on it during one of their various restructurings over the past few years.Nothing in game development can just be put "on hold". Whatever this project is now, the only way it sees the light is as something else and not Contraband.
How big is this studio? I wonder if they have multiple projects going and due to radio silence on Contraband, have already pivoted to something else.
