I only caught the first half. Figures Suarez would score 2 goals in 5 minutes in the second half. lol

So what happened with the red card for Vargas @ that 69th minute?

Seems like it made the Uruguayan coach paranoid since he took Suarez and Gargano out the very next minute.

Oh, wow. I just saw the video of the incident on YouTube.

Vargas is such a fool. Because he's captain he's going to miss the next two matches with the national team, including the first qualifying match for Brazil 2014.

Uruguay plays in such a way to it often pisses of their opponents, just look at Luis Suarez during the match against Argentina.

Vargas was being annoyed pretty bad, specially by Lugano who was behind him the whole time (pulling and shit) so he just flipped.

Inexcusable though, that shit was disgraceful.

i reaaaaally really dont agree with this at all.

at-all

specially compared to other teams

unless a way to piss of your opponents means playing good

Like ive said; weve seen clear dives from every other team. Tevez, Neymar, etc. Most were even caught and penalized with a yellow card, never happened with us. Suarez was overreacting to show the ref the fact that everyone was aiming at him like he had a fuckin target in his back. You could see him saying this to the ref all the time, waving his hands and whatnot. If that doesnt sit fine with you i understand, but i find it less appropiate that if players DONT bitch most of these refs do absolutely nothing.

No excuse for Lugano, he just makes me laugh how everytime there's a corner kick he climbs on another player like a mountain, LOL. He's just damn crazy and gets way over himself with adrenaline.

I meant in the sense that you guys tend to attract fouls from the opposing team. That and play a bit tougher at times.

Like I said, the match against Argentina was a perfect example of it, not only were you guys playing rought with Caceres, Perez, and Lugano, but Suarez was also attracting the fouls.

Venezuelan here, but moved out there a long time ago, we are definitely more than 3, around 8 with the new batch of juniors I think, I might be wrong but I thing el rechazao is Venezuelan as well.

I agree with this, Uruguayan players are always grinning at our luck and how we have a conniving way of manipulating our opponents.

We have a psychological game and we have a spirit for the sport.

But in the end, football is football and if the other team lets their anger get to them and starts missing goals. It's just part of how the game goes.

Speaking of chavez, not 2 hours ago I seriously shouted "OJALA ESE MALDITO SE TERMINE DE MORIR ALLA EN CUBA PARA VER SI SE EMPIEZA A ELIMINAR ESTA TOTAL INEPTITUD EN TODAS LAS OFICINAS GUBERNAMENTALES NOJODA" as I stormed off from a crowded SAIME office where I completely wasted most of my morning. Good times.

mh, that's an interesting opinion.

El ruso and Lugano are indeed tough players, but Caceres IMO has perfect timing and always goes for the ball, he never commits or attracts fouls

and we dont? :|

i'll argue that right now Uruguay is easily the national team with the most passion and spirit for the sport in all of south america. Hell, everyone seems to agree with this worldwide.

I'd say Chile since most of their fans came down in large droves to support their NT. And charrua fans were as passionate as a random guy buying a porn mag.

I'd vote for best -Guay to win it. (Paraguay)

what does that mean in English?

It's really hard to translate the joke but I'll try.

It's a pun with the name of Elano, the Brazilian player who missed the first penalty kick and the word for "commiting an error", "Errando".

To understand why it's a clever pun you first need to know about the character: This character is from Mauricio De Souza, something like the Brazilian Walt Disney. His characters are extremely popular in Brazil since early 70's. The one in the charge is called "Cebolinha" (cebolinha means Chives - the vegetable). Cebolinha is named this way due to his chives looking hair. His main characteristic is that he swaps the letter "r" for "l" when he talks which is common among portuguese speaking toddlers. Another main characteristic of Cebolinha is that he is always planning to steal another character's plush rabbit, (Monica's plush rabbit - Samson) and he ALWAYS fail, no matter how crazy and fantastic are his plans.

Now about the phrase: Cebolinha is saying the portuguese form of the maxim "you learn from your mistakes". The literal translation is "It's by committing errors that you learn". The word for commiting errors is "ERRANDO". It's common to pronnouce this work as "ERRANO". If you change the R for L like Cebolinha always does it becomes "ELANO". The second part of the pun is that this Mauricio de Souza's characters are often used to teach kids morals and good ways. The current Brazil's team is seen as a bunch of spoiled brats by a lot of Brazilians, that have a LOT to learn yet and Elano is one of the few mature players in the team. So there you go.

And "Elano" is The anus in spanish... that's a common joke here

Once again, I ll bring up the Argentina match as an example, Caceres was playing pretty damn rough on the first half.

BUT, he does have better technique and speed than Lugano and Perez, he is a lot more precise.

Right now....I dont know dude, specially after seeing the Chilean and Peruvian fans at their last games. Both groups were there supporting their teams despite the odds, both teams were also playing till the very end.

"La Garra" is a term that I have heard rather often for other teams as well, Colombia, Chile, Peru.... but it just sounds better Garra Charrua :p

estúpido yo soy de Uruguay, ya te lo dije.

No one can stop us, we're warriors at soccer. THE FIRST NATION TO WIN FIFA.

Historically we beat countries in home-field for breakfast.

Yeah, but you haven't won FIFA since 1950. I was posting in DinoGAF back then.

You know what would be surprising, but doubtful? Venezuela winning this cup. Then, and only then, can we say that this was the cup of the underdog.

Not Venezuelan but I'll be rooting for them in this match since they're the lovable underdog that could and they're fun to watch.
