That was a fun first half.

USA just needs a genius footballer of their own lol. So many missed chances.

They don't need a genius. They just need to take advantage of those opportunities.

Is this a joke? Bradley was a disaster in the Argentina game. Couldn't make a single pass.

Nobody on the team could, but at least Bradley got the ball back frequently. I'm pretty sure 90% of passes teamwide ended up going to Argentinian players. I also rarely (compared to the others) saw him fail at trapping a a ball unlike the the rest of the team who would try and keep it down and end up smacking it with their shins right back to Argentina.

Zardes has definitely played up to his potential this tournament. And I give him credit for rising up to the occasion, better than many of the vets on the team.

That said, part of the reason Zardes looks good is is because everyone else is playing so terrible. I think Zardes has proven that he probably deserves to have a spot on the team at least through Russia. But once the younger better and more technica playersl get some seasoning, I think Zardes role will be reduced to a utility player. He has good field vision, solid game IQ, and great work ethic, but he just doesn't have the technical ability to survive if the team pushes to the next level.

But as a Galaxy fan, I'm glad to see Zardes do well. Zardes is a good example of properly fostering young talent. Hopefully it encourages more MLS teams and future NT coaches to give their youth a chance.

Bradley is a midfielder. As such, what did he do good offensively OR defensively to help the team score or stop Argentina from getting in position to score?

I can't remember anything.

Noone. There was a guy immediately behind him..running...and Besler wasn't doing anything but watching.
sounds about right

Pretty much sums it up.

But until someone else can get the ball turn, and accelerate past someone near the wing, I guess Zardes stays starting. Even if his touch goes 20 yrds.

This.

Zardes has been good...so has Bobby Wood...but not "technically" good with the ball. I compare him to an 18 year old Marcus Rashford and the difference in technical control between the two is glaring.

Seems like time for Nagbe -> Jones

lol.
I dont get the comparison tho...?

Jordan Morris has no left foot whatsoever. He'll contort is body just so he can avoid taking a shot with this left foot. I watched a bit of the Seattle Sounders v. NYCFC game today and Morris blew a tap in because again he refused to use his left foot.

I put Morris and Zardes in the same category because I think both players spent too much time playing college soccer and it adversely affected their game.
