Next Garfield movie should be based on Garfield minus Garfield. Make it a Vampires Kiss type movie.
Only if they film it with Garfield in all of the scenes, and then afterward digitally take him out.

Jon is clinically depressed, schizophrenic, suffering from hallucinations and an inmate at an asylum. Garfield, Odie and Liz never existed anywhere but in Jon's imagination.
What about Lyman?
Jim Davis has jokingly explained Lyman's sudden disappearance and long absence from the strip on different occasions either by saying that Lyman joined the Peace Corps and was then never heard from again or by saying, "Don't look in Jon's basement."

Isn't there an official Garfield strip where Garfield is dying or something? Was kind of chilling

And he took the bottle. He's pointing to the steak sauce. If Jon understands, it's because of a gesture.
Garfield used to be good, but Jim Davis is the poster-child for selling out. Not even the merchandising, but the way the strip grew to be written by a "team" of like ten+ people.
Only Garfield comic that makes me laugh are the ones with the crazy eyes:

Something one of Davis' easel monkeys whipped up. It's both illuminating and amusing to realize that one can't even tell.
