Ah the good old "if we just save one....." the sign of accepting that your argument (or intervention etc) is a failure. How on earth can a single death not be too many?

Being that I don’t have a booster but the booster doesn’t work for this new thing I’m just going to wait and get a booster that does.

Welcome to life - everything has risk and we as a society accept certain risks of death or serious injury in everything. What? You're cool with basically euthanasia by lottery just so you can feel "safe"?
Yeah good point. My buddy got his booster and it laid him low so I was figuring I would just wait until they have a womb combo that does both. But maybe I’ll just wait a bit longer for some real info on if the booster works for this new shit.It probably works. I’m getting it so I don’t get delta too.
There are widespread riots and protests going on in AU and NZ, but they won’t cover it on the global stage. What's going on in Australia is inexcusable. They basically need a revolution.
Are these countries pushing for mandatory vaccinations with the AstraZenica vaccine? Not among most cohorts its not. That's the truth.
And seriously at a point when many countries are pushing for mandatory vaccinations by LAW. How on earth can a single death not be too many?
Also, since when does one person being unvaccinated equal the death of one or more vaccinated people? Do you not see how utterly insane that argument is? That presupposes not only 100% infection but apparently complete uselessness of vaccines at protecting someone from serious illness!

Slippery slope - why not get rid of all the old or terminally ill? Why not let smokers die from lung cancer?I wonder which country will be the first to say ‘fuck it’ and just put an end to the Covid restrictions, and decides to live with the additional deaths instead.
Lockdowns are only likely to happen if the hospitalisation rate becomes unsustainable, which is not a foregone conclusion given vaccination + natural immunity over time. I think countries are already deciding to live with the additional deaths, with different levels of contingency plans if things get especially bad.It seems increasingly likely at this point that Covid can’t be extinguished and will stay with us forever, and that unless everyone’s getting a new vaccine/booster shot every few months (probably combined with regular lockdowns), that there will be several million additional people who will be dying every year from now on globally.

"Hayley Hodgson, 26, moved to Darwin from Melbourne to escape the never-ending lockdowns — only to find herself locked up in a Covid Internment Camp without even having the virus. She’s just returned from a 14-day detention at Howard Springs, the 2000-capacity Covid camp outside Darwin to which regional Covid cases are transported by the authorities. In an exclusive interview with Freddie Sayers, she recounted her experiences." (12/2/21)

It was like the Gish Gallop of anti-vaxx arguments in discussion forum form.
Such co-infection sets the scene for viral recombination, a process in which two different viruses in the same host cell interact while making copies of themselves, generating new copies that have some genetic material from both "parents."
Wow, Delta has quite the rapid and crushing victory.cool, I don’t know that it doesn‘t work and Delta still by far most prominent strain where I am so I’m getting boosted for that now
good insight on omicron on a podcast I listen to, seen alot of bits of information here and there but not all in one place. Basically seeing R0 can be between 7-20 (possibly even in immunized population)

The guy with the train behind him is giving some really good info and then the others go 'it's a nothingburger' and 'MSM panic to create news' to appear the level headed champions going against the flow. One even says 'even more impotent then Delta' as if not all hospitals in the Western world are filled more then last year.
Being stupid shit is ‘going against the flow now’?' to appear the level headed champions going against the flow.
Is that true about the hospitals? The guy with the train behind him is giving some really good info and then the others go 'it's a nothingburger' and 'MSM panic to create news' to appear the level headed champions going against the flow. All this reporting coming out of SA is a bit misleading for the rest of us… in countries with much higher vaccination rates, less anti-vax sentiment, far more delta strain and far higher prevalence of public immunity.
I do wish the media would highlight these things, but the scare factor is always best for clicks.
Omicron could very well be extremely serious... or it could get minced by delta the same way beta was.
Haven't seen much in terms of Omikron having bad outcomes, it's still a possibility that it does less damage than delta, right?
Getting my Moderna booster today, hoping it doesn't kick my ass like the second shot of the first round did. I was either dripping with sweat or freezing cold. The associated fever was fairly mild, but the body aches/chills etc. were worse than any flu I remember.

i wonder if there's a correlation with the severity of side effects and how severe someone may be affected if they had gotten Covid without being vaccinated. Essentially your body is performing a fire drill with the vaccine shot, thus might be a way to gauge how well you would have actually handled Covid. You might have gotten fucked while the the poster above that had no side effects could have been walking around asymptotic. My 2nd Pfizer jab resulted in the same side effects you had with your 2nd Moderna. I had a sustained fever (102-103 F) for about 18 hours. Along with that came chills, sweats, foggy-headedness and general discomfort all over. By about 24 hours later it was like nothing had happened at all, 100% back to normal. My very first Pfizer jab was absolutely no side effects at all. Not even arm soreness.
My Pfizer booster six months later was just a very slightly sore arm for about a half a day, and some relatively mild fatigue for one day. Hoping your booster was as mild as mine was.
got my Moderna booster yesterday and it’s been nothing like the 2nd dose. Sore arm and just kinda crud feeling versus being totally wiped out for over a day.Getting my Moderna booster today, hoping it doesn't kick my ass like the second shot of the first round did. I'd prepare for the same.
