First of all, if you don't live near me, you don't have to wear mask I don't give a fuck...because most likely you are from "brain free country", however for the rest of the audience here I have some story, which could easily ended up with me being dead.

I don't think I have to write here, that I am post liver transplant, but I also suffer from the Psoriasis, which is way worse than anything alcohol, transplant related. One of the reason why I started drinking so much, was that the constant itching was unbearable. Fortunately, now I am getting 2 injections per 3 months and I am trouble free....however on the Wednesday, I was there for the check in front of like 20 doctors, where you have to undress and they look at you, most of them are women withing range of your age and it sucks etc. However, I decided at least cover my face with mask so my embarassment is not that visible.

I did good, cause someone within the doctors personnel or maybe some patinet brough covid there, I was notified next day by someone who was there with me for the check and I acquired telephone number, etc. She was..well is pretty sick, she is currently on the ICU. With Prosirasis you take so immune suppressants, however I do twice that for an foreign organ in me so I would probably be really fucked if I would got infected.

So yeah it's real and it could be anywhere, wearing mask is small sacrifice and most likely you look better in it, then without it. At least in my case it works like that.

Also covid test sucks and it hurts like mofo, so try to evade this shitty medical intervetion.

Also wear glasses if possible, surgery fucked my vision, so I am good in this sense, I need to wear them everywhere.

Maybe moral of the story is "don't go to the doctors/hospital", because there is an extreme chance that someone is going to have that.

It's law to wear a mask when outside of your home where I live and you still see some idiots not wearing it or even worse, they have it but its round their neck or on their forehead. Sure they all have it, however one who do not have it, got it in that day. And there was not many situation where this could happend. Neither of us travel with MHD...*cough* public transport and it simply is there, she is now on ventilator with 42C fever. It sucks.

UK tried that "herd immunity" thing and they are not doing well, so it does not work. Besides I read some article few days back, how Boris Johnson still have an issues. Not much news from Sweden tho, which uses the same thing.

Let start with what we know, and that is it spreads from aerosol from your nose and mouth, so in that case it's goot to wear something which prevents it from spreading, until something more reliable is developed.

I have to wear these at work all day. I see some elderly wearing them at grocery stores, which is smart for that age group. They're dirt cheap. It protects your eyes, your face, all of it. Obviously not 100% like some hazmat suit, but it helps.

All the mask does is stop large droplets from exiting your mouth, and landing on surfaces or riding around in the air. It's to protect other people, and not yourself. It does work in that limited capacity. Surgeons don't wear masks to protect themselves, but to protect the patients.

If you want to protect yourself, you need a face shield.

Obviously, it would be 100% effective if we could close every single business and have everyone stay home for a month with zero exceptions. But we can't because of the economic fallout, so people are opening up stuff and trying to encourage people to spend money with some precautions in place. It's flawed, but no one can afford to shut down 100%. Same kind of conflicting thing with the gym. Gyms will go out of business, so people are doing this half-assed opening. I can report you that in my city calgary everything i wrote is a fact.
No people dont wash their hands from store to store. Also know several who use the same mask all week.

There is 0 social distancing in the gym since you huff and puff right next to eachother.

My point is as you said everything is half assed yet we dont see the impact or rise in cases compared to when we were on full lockdown.

The end results are the same.

I dont even want to get into this whole flatening the curve as its been 6 months and see where we are.


And yes masks dont protect YOU but if you are sick they protect others.

Bottom line is mask or no mask it just doesnt make a difference. If its not for the potency of the virus its for the half ass measures that mean jack shit to fight the virus but destroy families and lives .

Mask wearing is not part of my religion. There is no evidence that the general public wearing masks has any positive effect on the infection rate and as others have pointed out, Covid poses very little risk to the general population. I will not wear a mask just to please the feelings of the hysterical. I only wear them when required by law and I resent it.

Best prevention is eating right, exercise and vitamin d ( get some sun even 15 minutes helps ). A mask isn’t going to do anything if you catch a viral load airborne. Your immune system is like a muscle, you have to train it to make it effective. I only wear a mask out of consideration for others. Best prevention is eating right, exercise and vitamin d ( get some sun even 15 minutes helps ). A mask isn’t going to do anything if you catch a viral load airborne. Your immune system is like a muscle, you have to train it to make it effective. I only wear a mask out of consideration for others.

Yeah yeah, but then again, I have to eat imuno supressants, so this healthy lifestyle, does not really help me. Sure you are right for most people this is where it's at, however for me, that simply does not work like that. I am intentionaly crippled so I can live.

Yeah, kind of goes without saying it’s different if you have a serious pre-existing health problem.

If I were you I would just wear PPE religiously in public spaces and try to limit physical contact with things that are high traffic like hand rails and doors. I’ve always kind of done that anyway. Otherwise I would still get some sun and exercise at a level you feel capable, even a walk in the sun every day is awesome self care.
