But the difference is that different developer teams in different studios developered Crash games under the IPIts the same actually, sonic went to shit the moment the original team left to do some other stuff (Nights) and gave the franchise to others who made chaotix, and then there was sonic3d and sonic R.
In comparison Sonic Adventure was a pretty good game and it almost seemed things could only go up from there.
Then heroes came around...
Pretty sure there was no boulder chasing you in Wrath of Cortex.Wrath of Cortex, how I adore you and your reverse camera angles while running away from boulders. That game was quality family time.
This. Actually there were only boulders in Crash 1 and 2. I think there was a dragon chasing you in WoC.Pretty sure there was no boulder chasing you in Wrath of Cortex.
Hahaha. Yep that sums it up pretty well.Just saw this title image on 4chan:
I'm from a PAL region but am playing an NTSC version atm which is lucky indeed considering some of the time changes as well.Do you play the NTSC version? If so, there is a glitch with the relic times in the hidden levels Hot Coco and Eggipus Rex. The Platinums are extremely easy in those levels because the game uses the relic times of the levels you warp from (Road Crash and Dino Might!). Because those levels are much longer than the hidden levels you get Platinum on the hidden levels without any hassle.
This bug is fixed in the PAL version, where Hot Coco has a proper Platinum time of 0:19.96 and Eggipus Rex a time of 44:83
So, I've recently gained interest in playing the post-ND Crash games and I was wondering which system to get them for. I can play the games on any of the systems available for them but I'm not sure if the PS2 version was better than the Wii version or Xbox version, etc.. So I could really use some help from those that might know.
For example, for The Wrath of Cortex, I know that the PS2 version has long load times (even the GH version) but the GameCube and Xbox versions don't. But at the same time, does playing with a non-PlayStation controller feel off at all?
And for Mind Over Mutant and Crash of the Titans, does the Xbox 360 version have anything that makes it stand out over the PS2 and Wii version, or are the non-HD versions better than the Xbox 360 version?
It can be very confusing to decide which version to play since the games have some different features on different systems. Thank you guys in advance for helping.
Link to article.Dated from March 1995 these sketches were part of the early development of the Crash Bandicoot franchise when it was still originally Willy the Wombat. We were in a phase of developing additional secondary characters. I was thinking distinct personality but Naughty Dog wanted straight out simple creatures representative of what we'd see in nature for the most part. This was what I came up with for an iguana. Initially starting out as a punk biker thug and then winding up as a straight forward animal. I don't think this has been published before. Something for the Crash historians.

I dug up some images from the development of the warthog.
In the beginning he was conceived as a sumo wrestler. Naughty Dog decided they didn't want this guy and other incidental characters to emerge as full personalities. Instead they opted for simple versions of what the animal would look like in real life. These drawings are dated March 1995 back when Crash was a wombat named Willy.
Nah, the console and PSP versions are all basically the same, the only unique versions are the DS versions (and GBA for Titans). As for feeling different I can't speak for the Gamecube or original Xbox, that might feel different (to a minimal effect), but it definitely won't matter for CotT or MoM.Wow! That Crash Mania site actually helped quite a bit. Thanks!
I was kinda worried that the newer Crash games would play differently on the Xbox 360 than the PS2/Wii like Sonic Unleashed did. Thankfully it doesn't look like it.
What I still wonder though is if it feels weird at all to play a Crash game on a non-PlayStation console. How is that? I might just go all in for the Xbox versions of the Crash games but I wonder if it feels weird or off since it's a different system and controller.

So I had a thought. Would it be worth it to tweet at some of the bigger people from Playstation on Twitter like @amboyes, @yosp, and @giocorsi to try and get a next gen Crash game? Obviously it wouldn't do anything with one person doing it, but if a bunch of people in the thread did it with a hashtag like #GetCrashBack. Even if they can't buy the IP, maybe making some noise about it would get them to look into it.
It could probably be a thread by itself, but I figure it would just turn into a "Why would you want that. Crash was awful. SM64 was better." situation like that thread about the signs.
I just really want a good new Crash game.
Surprised none of us posted the Crash sign from the PS4 launch trailer in here. I'll do the honours:
We're all convinced it means he's coming back right? Everyone here a believer? lol.
i would support this in any way that i can
No, it has more significance. I HAVE TO BELIEVE.It could just mean crash is giving Sony the thumbs up
This is a great idea. Yosp and Boyes are good with replying. Perhaps they'll give us a little hint.I don't know about tweeting them about Sony making a new crash game, but we should tweet them that easter egg from the launch trailer, and ask what it means.
Tweet them the sign and ask what it means.Let's start this thing. I did my part:

"[...]I cannot confirm this[...]"
Yesterday, 16th of November, our source confirmed that a next-gen reboot of Crash Bandicoot is, indeed, in production and is definitely on its way to the PlayStation 4.
what
...whatshe cannot confirm it but her source did.
Not getting my hopes up, the only possible evidence that crash is back at sony is that sign in the ps4 video.
i havent played crash in a while, especially not the newer ones.. the sign doesnt remind me of crash at all.. can someone point me to something that resembles it
That's probably why. It's a pose from Crash Twinsanity.i havent played crash in a while, especially not the newer ones.. the sign doesnt remind me of crash at all.. can someone point me to something that resembles it
