Creepy unsolved/paranormal/strange events thread

Listening to that tape was the scariest point in my life. Noone believes me though, since I don't have the tape anymore.

What happened to the tape?

Oh my, that creepy camping stuff sounds and looks very real. I doubt it's a hoax, there's no clear intention to attract attention.

My friend worked on excavations of a burial mound and he told me that once he heard a creepy howling sound in the woods. I'll send him a link to the video with this scream...

If you mean you live near Loch Raven reservoir near Baltimore, then the scariest thing is that you went into those woods at night! Of course you were scared, you had like a 80% chance of being murdered.

Also, nice pics!

I've had many people tell me that my bedroom creeps them out, and sometimes at night I wake up to my bed shaking (like an earthquake but faster - like it's vibrating, sort of).

Man...that whole creepy camping thing is like...Silent Hill style events in real life.

This caption cemented it :lol

Of course not. It and the rest of this thread is BS.

Just what the hell are you expecting coming in here?

Most of this thread has been creepy stories and personal anecdotes, not silly videos of people making dolls walk. Troll harder plz.

Wait, what?!?

edit: Saw a couple fewdio vids on youtube. My God, bedfellows and mockingbird were awesome. Makes me wish we had a Tales of the Crypt resurrection. It seems, the shorter the clips are, the more effective.

Knowing that the phone call my dad was about to take was someone telling him my Great Grandmother had died.

I don't know how to really explain it I just knew when the phone rang she had died, she had been ill for several weeks so the phone would of rang loads of times and i never had the feeling but that one night when the phone rang I just knew she had gone, still freaks me out to this day.

Don't think this has been posted yet, but in the spirit of Australia I came across this last year. The story of the demon-masked man and accompanying photo really fucked with my head when I read it back then

http://www.news.com.au/national/australian-tragic-our-top-ten-darkest-tales/story-e6frfkvr-1225779163663

"While waiting at Circular Quay for a ferry to take them to Sydney's Luna Park on June 9, 1979, the Godson family are approached by a Satanic-looking figure dressed in a loincloth and wearing a mask with horns. The creature voicelessly places his hand on young Damian Godson's shoulder. Somebody snaps a photograph. It is the last photograph of the boy ever taken - hours later, Damian, his brother, Craig, and his father, John, will burn in the fire that sweeps through The Ghost Train. Nobody will ever see the horned man again."

It is worth noting that despite many investigations and theories, the cause of the fire was never established

Very strange! Thanks for posting.

Edit: The rest of the snippets on that page are fucking weird too. I'd like to read that book.

I had the exact same thing happen. Perhaps even stranger. It was my grandma, and she had been ill for a while but I had no idea she was dying or anything. The phone rang one morning. I woke up and felt a massive cold chill and just knew she had died. Then my cousin who was staying over had woken up too and walked into my room and I said "I think grandma's died" and he said "I know" then we heard my mum pick up the phone and break down in tears. I don't believe in an afterlife, but it's perhaps one of the strangest things that has ever happened to me.

I hate sleep paralysis. I had one where I could see, out the corner of my eye, a fucking balloon coming out of the wall. Forcing its self out. And I could hear someone chuckling behind me. My second one involve something invisible pressing down on my whole body and demonic voices overlaying each other, indistinguishable. Fuck that shit was scary, almost crapped my pants.

This thread has given me the urge to track it down (along with that sense that someone is standing behind me late at night).

On a interesting side note, the guy in the demon mask looks like Moloch (hence the title in the article), who is appeased by sacrifices of children by fire (ashamed to say to say that I first saw that point, and subsequently researched, from a post in the comments section for the article, which any aussie will tell you is the only redeemably comical part of news.com.au)

Great. All I wanted to do is to check out GAF before reading some One Piece in my bed. So now I'm lying here in my bed, reading those stories while we have a fucking thunderstorm outside and my cat is moving around and makes some noise with his little bell around his neck. Of course I already turned on the light but I can't stop looking at the door from the corner of my eye.

There's no fucking way I'll continue to read the Grinning Man article on Wikipedia.

What a shitty night. Thank you, GAF.

ehh...

you get used to it after awhile.

That's not the cat's bell.
It's funny. When the thunderstorm started, my cat was outside and I was already reading this thread and some articles. So yeah, I heard the bell outside and knew it was the cat, but still ... The fact that the fucker sneaked through the basement into the garden didn't help (I closed the door to the garden, so I was a bit surprised).

This is just ridiculous.

There's a lot of stuff in this thread, plenty of legitimate mysteries and seemingly honest tales. Also, you'll notice a lack of people jumping to conclusions about whatever they've experienced.

Do you really think that absolutely everything discussed in this thread is "BS"?

Either your camera lens is dirty or that is a shitload of "ghost orbs", as some people are inclined to believe.
It's dust in the air. I had the same thing happen when I took pictures of an old cemetery.

I have only had two very minor experiences but both creeped me out.

About 6 years ago I was alone in my apartment. I was laying in bed at about 2 am trying to fall asleep. Out of no where the guitar i had in the corner of the room made a noise. It sounded as if something had gently plucked the last three strings. It scared the shit out of me when it first happened. I just told myself that either a bug flew into the strings or they just came loose and made a sound. I didn't want to look.

This one happened about ten years ago. I was spending the night at my cousins house. The house it's self had a very creepy feel to it. Just something about it felt off. Later that night his mother went to work so we were there alone. We decided to partake in a little marijuana and Street Fighter. Shortly after I started to feel very strange. Not just high, it felt as if the room was crowded with people. It felt like people were walking around us and talking. At first I figured I am just way to high right now( probably the reason). The part that really creeped me out was that my cousin felt the exact same way. I had not mentioned what I was feeling. Out of the blue he started asking if it felt like there were allot of people in the room. Asking if it felt crowded in here. Probably just the pot but it was a very creepy feeling.

Pictures OF GHOSTS in an old cemetery, you mean.

I kid. Yes, it's almost certainly backscatter. Amusing and frustrating that it happens in cemeteries a lot.

Has anyone seen Celebrity Ghost Stories on.. History or Biography Channel or whatever. There are some entertaining stories on there. I remember one with Ernie Hudson who was invited to stay in a haunted motel as a PR stunt not long after Ghostbusters came out, and he and his family had the shit scared out of them. And one was on just now with Ileana Douglas, who told a pretty great story about an eventful few months when she lived in the Parc Vendome in NYC.

In full disclosure I think those were actually just the camera flash catching raindrops, it was a little rainy/misty that night.

I had a sleep paralysis episode last month and man it was creepy. I saw a shadow figure and I tried to wake up but couldn't.

I saw a shadow figure when I was kid. I was going to bedroom after eating dinner and then I caught a shadow running to my bedroom and I was scared and had to call my mom and told her "I saw someone running to my bedroom". She even called the cop because she saw how frightened I was and then nobody was there.

oh also listen to this WAV sound file that I found.

"This audio was recorded on January 29, 2005 during the investigation of a Des Moines, Iowa residence. In the recording, PRISM investigator Dan Christianson asks, "Are you happy here?" and then he is answered with a response from a growling spirit male voice which says something like "We will stay!" or "We won't go!" in a deep moaning voice. A second spirit voice can be heard as well, speaking over the first lower voice. This spirit screams out something that sounds like "Get them off me!"

creepy voices (With noise reduction applied & looped x3 )

That gave me chills and my eyes begin to watered after hearing the "Get them off me!" :lol

Pretty interesting though.

The only thing that makes me think the recording is a hoax is i cannot find anything about a Happy Days Stays Retreat in Australia (or anywhere else). ive tried checking different combinations (Day instead of days for example) but still have come up with nothing. Perhaps the name was changed. Does anyone know anything more about this sanatorium?

I've been googling away as well for any local psychiatric institute in the Tamworth or New England area, and none match the name. However, it could be south of Coonabarabran or somewhere else in New South Wales or perhaps part of a larger health centre. There's also the fact the name could have changed since Bongo's admission to the place and he simply is comfortable with the old name. Who knows.

The other thing I was thinking of is...and this gives me cause for rumination...a nurse (Miss Annie, Bongo tells us) would not wake a patient up in the middle of the night to talk on radio about such an occurrence if it were not in the patient's best interest. If this WAS part of some sort of mental disorder or the product of fantasy, any doctor wouldn't want to accentuate and inflame a patient's hysteria...

...so there could very well be something more to this. I take his fear to be genuine. For the night staff to allow him or notify him of an opportunity to talk about his experience leads me to think they believe there's an inkling of truth to the matter. Alternatively, they might think the whole thing is harmless and he's just scaring himself - but it seems a malicious thing to do, wake a patient in the middle of the night just to have him scare himself witless.

How come every time I see this thread bumped, it's always in the middle of the night? :lol

You guys are trying to give me nightmares on purpose!

Only kinda related, but I just found this on clearance at Borders today for 10 bucks.

Three of the most fucked up children books ever in one volume for that price? Fuck yes, please.

The artwork STILL creeps me the fuck out, even if the stories are mostly a lot tamer than I remember (Some of them are still remarkably fucked up though). I mean, just look at that cover! Holy shit, who thought this was appropriate for children?

I'm locking this in a god damned vault to save for my children so they will quickly learn to stop asking me to read them bed time stories. Mwa ha ha ha ha!

I had pretty much the same experience as a child. I'm glad I grew up :lol
