People can laugh all they want but at least he got up and did something about it unlike everyone else who sat there and did dick all. I commend the guy for not taking the easy way out and just letting someone get beaten.

He was willing to disembowel someone over a fist fight. I admire his courage to actually stop a fight but based on what he was saying he could have taken it too far.

Training since he was 9? This aint even cringe, you people are insecure af hahaha.

Respect for this dude actually standing up to three dudes? Come on, none of you in this thread would have, specially OP, his on screen persona though, was a bit...hm idk a bit of a show, but nothing cringey.

Let that boy slice it up, its whatever.

Is that his legal name though?

Cool. Sit down you nerds. And help me find some good anime or Metal Gear Rising sheathing gifs since I can't find any.

Really not cringe worthy to me. He's a little goofy, but I would be thankful he was there if I was getting my ass beat.

Just worried we're going to eventually see a news headline about "Sowrdsman shot to death while attempting to cut bullets in mid air"
It depends how quickly the gun guy can get to his gun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0IMHzibGqI

21 foot rule is legit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk59imFr6yI

and I wouldn't rule out light rail samurai being able to split bullets in midair just as an atom bomb splits atoms... there is no "attempt"

Oh, I do so love when GAF throws around the word "nerd" as an insult...irony at its finest.

Anyway, this guy is a legend. A true hero of the modern day.

You guys are surprised he carries a japanese sword around ? please, I carry this...

186cm long, 4mm thick blade, around 6kg in weight. Good thing there are no legal restrictions for carrying cold weapons in the Czech Republic :)

btw: this is The Ultimate Cringe

At Mesa Community College, they have a Japanese Swordsmanship class/club and since the school is near the light rail it's probably where he learned it. It's actually a serious class and I was thinking of joining it next semester.

Arizona also has no laws against carrying a blade, you are free to carry everything from a switchblade to a broadsword in public legally. The only places where it's illegal to carry are private areas due to their personal rules like schools, unless you are carrying to a class or place of instruction.

A lot of people are cringing, but I think this guy is cool.

As much as I cringed at this guy, who sounded ridiculous, I can't lie and say he doesn't have some skills. It does look like he's a beast with the sword. That said, he sounds like a bit of a danger to society lol.

As the OP, I find the split in opinions magnificent.

On the one hand, we have posters who recognize that a man actually stood up to bandits with an obvious display of skill and honor.

On the other, there are posters who noted that he planned to actually disembowel three people (who actually appeared to know each other) who were having a fistfight. He said he was going to kill them if it escalated. He has plainly been waiting for that moment for some time.

So for clarity, he IS brave, and plainly at least mildly skilled at sheathing his sword and one assumes, at using it.

But EVERYTHING ELSE IS CRAZY.

So stop acting like gaf is a bunch of bullies.

It's objectively crazy and hilarious and if you really can't see that well then sigh.

He does seem to have some skill but the posture he takes is very odd, I would go as far as to call it a hollywood posture. He has a very limited skill set available from that posture, if he were to go against me then I would have had a decisive advantage if I were to take the traditional posture

Because from that posture, I can parry, attack in all directions, counter and move freely, while all he can do is thrust.

Just my observation as a 6 year old student of Kenjutsu.

It's objectively crazy...

Yeah, admitting on TV that you were about to slaughter some people because of a brawl is borderline insanity.

No but serious question, don't you have a lack of balance in that posture? Say you weren't able to parry effectively and got hit with a lunge, couldn't you lose your balance or end up falling?

I really surprised I haven't been hearing of these people who save themselves from eminent danger with their quick sword reflexes. Typically I just hear about sword wielding maniacs running a muck. This story is certainly not typical but it ain't because of a shortage of sword wielding maniacs.
