Cronos: The New Dawn - Official Abandoned Factory Gameplay Overview

Looks pretty good, this was in development with SH2? That's seriously impressive, maybe Bloober are becoming a AAA developer.

Hell is Us one day before this makes the buying decision very hard and it's gonna come down to review scores but I'll get both at some point it's just which one first.

They were playing John Carpenter's The Thing theme during the gameplay segment inside the structure. It's effective to this day.

In any case, sound design is on point.

There is one niggle though. Firing that gun inside the cavern took the immersion out of my pants. More reverb needed!

One of these days I'll muster the energy to watch a gameplay video of this.

Still bummed about the lack of exagerated gore, dismemberment and precise bullet marks (last one looks like it vary between enemies), the genre scream for this shit.

DS remake look straight a generation better in these department.

Other than that look like a decent 30-40 euros game but september is full choke...

edit: a bit boring\dull if i have tbh.

I don't know about them being AAA, I'd personally be content with AA+ output (good, pretty games but not bloated content-wise), but they do have two teams working independently, that's why they can shoot a banger after banger.

I'm still wondering about release date, if the physical version truly coming out in 19th then its gonna tough tying avoid all spoilers.

If this is even close to resident evil 4 or dead space in quality I will be very happy. There isn't much out there horror-wise that interests me at the moment. Silent hill f(eminism) gate is worrisome.

Game is only £46 on Shopto.... can't really say no to that.

I'm pumped for this but kind of wish they'd show more environments in all these previews. Hopefully they're just holding back all the cool stuff, I'm gonna fall asleep going through all these apartment buildings filled with dookie.

I'm still trying find out if the Sep 19th release date is mistake or not.....all gaming sits say this game is coming in Sep 5th but all retail stores say its coming out in Sep 19th.

Can someone confirm if this only in NA?

Different dates showing, Walmart, Best Buy and Target have October 21st for the Switch 2 version, but Gamestop has it on September 19th.

All retailers have the PS5 version for September 19th.

Europe and Australia show the physical release date on September 5th.

But there is no news of why date suddenly changed to Sep 19th for NA and all the advertising keep saying it coming out in Sep 5th.

This is so bizarre.

I dunno what's the case in NA, but as I said it before, the game will release on the same day for both physical/digital in Europe/Australia.

You just have to wait and see if the same happens in NA.

What's up with all the weird shimmering? Looks like the Dead Space remake before it was fixed and the resolution was all fucked up. I hope this isn't another PS5 Pro game that looks worse than base PS5 like Silent Hill 2. Oh fuck I just realized this is the same studio, right?

The fact that theyre giving away a game for free with the preorder does not inspire much confidence in its quality. Thought it was coming on the 19th, but so close to Silksong...i dunno if I'll bite.

The other weird thing is that it's apparently out at EB Games and JB Hifi here in Australia on the 5th, but the Nintendo eshop still says the 6th.

So like, will I not be able to download it for another day, if I don't wanna get the game key card? Bizarre.

After watching several gameplay videos, Cronos: The New Dawn strikes me as a solid 7/10. It's clear the developers put care into the atmosphere and mechanics, and I'm genuinely glad it exists but it doesn't quite demand a day one purchase at full price. The visuals and premise are intriguing, yet nothing about it feels urgent or essential right now. I'll happily wait for a decent discount before picking it up.

7 is okay. I like these type of games so its a day 1 for me. Lenght should be around 16-18 hours so its great too

Definitely gonna play this but I am not happy about the combat and lack of impact. Visuals are great, setting is good. And I actually like Bloober. I loved Layers of Fear 1 atleast.

Yeah, that kinda killed my hype - too many enemies, all looking like lame rubber snakes and no real weapon impact, followed by 'you can shoot the red barrel'. Environments looked a bit fake and plastic too.
