Cronos The New Dawn new gameplay and hands previews

There's nothing I particularly dislike, but there's nothing I really like either. It's like if you fed an AI existing games like dead space and silent hill and it spit out this. I just can't get excited for it.

Exactly how I feel. Seems like a decent 7/10 game. Bloober team is definitely trending in the right direction, but they need to do much better when it comes to their combat. It's way too safe and paint by numbers

Eurogamer dude is really, really unhappy with the inventory management. I can't tell if it's just that Bloober made a shitty version of old school Resi style inventory management or if he hates the concept. He does say he's an avid Horror fan so maybe Bloober just did a bad take on it.

This game has been a rollercoaster ride for me every time new shit is posted lol.

Metroidvania-ish, old school structure with tons of secrets, shortcuts to unlock and keycard-ed doors?

Yep. After SH2, I'll give them a chance no matter what, and what they've said sounds good.

Unfortunately, I just haven't really been into the combat yet. Maybe it'll click as they refine it, but SH2 didn't have shinning combat either.

The one thing I do like is that you can charge shots on every gun and that environmental elements are highly incentivized. I didn't expect there to be such an emphasis on limited resources as there apparently is. Gives me hope that maybe the tactical aspect of all that will help. It seems to lean more Survival Horror rather than Action Horror. SH2R combat was simple yet addictive for me as well, it had a great feel that did a lot of work.

NAILED IT. sure it looks pretty (because not much computationally going on). but it's the same shit. poking around in the dark, creepy thing bombs out, awkward/stiff shooting mechanics, low ammo (awesome and exciting!), shitty combat and movement. shall i go on?? or am i cool to start wiping? because i just SHIT on this one!

Where are the "hands" preview? You cowards!

I'm just disappointed there is no dismemberment, as that is huge selling point for me as this clearly is inspired by Dead Space to some extent. Otherwise, it looks very good.

Looks awesome. The way the monsters absorb each other is kinda freaky. Has a certain Lovecraftian vibes too it. Cautiously optimistic about this one.

Ehhhhhhhh .. not feeling this one at all. This looks like them going back to their own self-created AA jank worlds, instead of working off of derived material like SH2.

I wish bloober the best, but they really need a new combat director, it just lacks too much punch and impact, has always been a weakness of the theirs.

I mean, i could if it wasn't 70 Eurodollars.

After a while, these type of games start bleeding into each other...

If they need to delay the game a bit more, February is pretty much the worst time to release it, as RE: Requiem will eat it alive.
Silent Hill f coming out this year and RE9 next year and highly doubt original Silent Hill remake coming out Feb, if that was the case we would have seen proper trailer for it by now.

I think I'm so starved for what is essentially my favorite genre, even the derivative nature and some shortcomings are things I can gloss over. The East Bloc aesthetic and it being a real slice of Warsaw is putting in a lot of work for me here. Between the sound design, the aesthetic and old school Survival Horror anything, I'd buy this unless it had pure disaster reviews. I also have a total boner for how old school some elements feel. That apartment building seems laid out like a maze, gas canisters and shit everywhere, keycards, brutal inventory managment.

My bad I keep rambling in here but this is inexplicably my #1 wishlist game right now despite being hot and cold on it somehow. This tickles somehighly niche fancy of mine lol

Looks like a 75 bumped to 89 by the setting, as it takes place in a city I know very well so that's highly subjective. I did expect more, but then SH2R was such a shock, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Day one if it fits in my calendar
