I do NOT like to make opinions of games before coming out and based on trailers, but in this trailer I have been given the impression of a game based on UE5 but with a budget three or four times smaller than Silent Hill 2 Remake (talking about the same Studio) and not very artistically inspired.

That said, it remains to know more and if the price is right and something interesting comes out.... My interest remains.

Its nice to see a team steadily raising their game like Bloober seem to be doing.

It just reminds me of the fact that devs need time and experience to grow, especially with horror games where there's a lot of finesse involved in getting the right look and feel.

This looks like Dead Space, Returnal and Silent Hill fucked. After Silent Hill 2's combat feel and hit reactions and all, I trust them fully and this already looks punchy and meaty.

This, DS2 and the new Housemarque game are probably my most anticipated games right now. Who knew, I couldn't stand Bloober before they stepped the fuck up on SH2.

Looks good but i hope they realize that SH2 worked because of James and his performance, his story arc, and going with a masked unnamed protagonist goes against everything that made SH2 such a great game.

Bloober did shit like this a lot in SH2 and it tickles my fancy something fierce. They didn't force "cinematic" moments and instead let them happen organically through amazing lighting and enemy encounter setups. No taking control away from the player to focus the camera or anything.

Also...exploding red barrels...YES. I like any game with shit that old school.

Dead Space 1 was better than 2, (and 1's remake), specifically because it had a silent protagonist with almost no characterization. A horror game does not need cinematic character exposition and development; that's not to say that it's a bad thing, but character arcs are absolutely not completely necessary for a horror game to be great, and there are absolutely countless examples of great horror games where the player character is essentially a nobody dropped into a situation that's terrifying and they work just fine. Hell, I actually consider the Souls games horror games first and foremost, particularly Bloodborne, and every one of those games are essentially just that.

Looks pretty good.

Only thing that bugs me is the character holds the gun very oddly in most shots. Like too much at an angle with the elbow WAY the fuck back lol.

The earlier trailer looked good, and so does this. Bloober certainly earned some level of trust with SH2 remake. Maybe it'll be the game Callisto Protocol wanted to be, a good action survival horror game.

Well the minute to minute jump scares may not be affected by the characters but the psychological horror element is and specifically the story/ending of SH2 gave context to everything else experienced in the game. Like the game Metaphor, in SH2 everything is a metaphor and James grounded that. Without going into spoilers, his multiple characterizations made possible by multiple endings, are in total one of my favorite gaming moments. I don't think it is required to have a good MC to be a great horror game, but to be the BEST horror game you also have to have good characters.

This is a new game from them. SH2 is SH2, of course they benefited from SH2 10/10 story.
There's glimpses of characters in the trailer and it has a mask because after all this deals with Space and Bio stuff. Dead Space is a masterpiece, i don't see what's wrong with using a mask.

I, like everybody, just hope they deliver after the experience gained with SH2.

"Don't let them merge" is a cool idea for a gameplay twist. Looking forward to this one!

Hopefully there is enough in there to scratch that dead space itch.

Already knew this would be lit after the initial tease months ago, hopefully it's as good as it looks. Bloober proved themselves with SH2 but now they need to do it with their own, original IP because although I enjoyed some of their previous work none of it was what I'd call "great". I'm rooting for you Bloober, deliver the goods and I'm there day 1 👌

I'll give them a chance after SH2, but combat wasn't it's strength.

If this is their take on Dead Space, they need to really nail the combat, because DS always did.

Well, fuck me, the trailer was amazing - atmosphere and art seem top-notch and the gunplay seems solid with a chunky feeling thanks to the very good sound production, shit sounds CRISP...

I have a weird relationship with Bloober, I liked most of their games (Blair witch, the medium, Observer) but, while their art/art-direction has always been good (typical of Polish devs for some reason), their technical prowess, or shall I say, lack thereof, has always been the proverbial thorn in their products - every game they released so far - and especially on consoles - has been a technical mess, sure, observer received a next gen release which ran mostly fine compared to that of the previous gen but the rest of them... Even silent hill 2 for example which received 9's all over, hasn't been patched for months now on the PS5 Pro which frankly, not only is it inexcusable but also a disgrace...Game sold and reviewed well and what did they do ? Nothing, they released two half arsed patches which didn't fix the game's problems.

This...looks better - judging by the video at least - everything seems to be right up my alley so I really hope it releases in a good, finished state...

Wasn't into SH2 Remake as I always liked SH1 and SH3 a lot but this looks good, it's not completely what I want for a horror as I was looking for something like a current gen System Shock 2 or Routine but Cronos still looks cool. Another good game to add to the list. 2025 is shaping up to be the best year in gaming in a long long time even surpassing 2024.

It's called Final Fantasy 8. It's a good one.

I know, it's my favourite :) Rinoa calls Squall the "best looking guy here" when they first meet.

I meant Cronos looks interesting. Waiting for a hands on preview though.

This looks...fine. I think Silent Hill 2 was an outlier in the quality department and I think it's because it was an already established I.P. with its own template. I'd argue that out of their last 10 games, only Silent Hill was good to great making them 1-9.

If your local sports team went with 1 win and 9 losses would you have any faith that they would consistently deliver quality performances after 1 good showing?
