Man we sure get a steady stream of refugees from a place that Fidel says the US always paints in an unfair negative light....

Wow... I know they thought "it's blue so they won't be able to see us", but MAN did they choose the wrong shade.

To be fair a Cuban landing on american soil is almost immediately granted US citizenship. That is why they risk the trip. As many Cubans have family in the US they try to get on over to be with them. Doesn't help matters that the US won't allow its citizens to travel over there...unless they sneak in through another country. The Cuban government will certainly let american travellers in and out of the country.

I've been to Cuba. Havana is said to be one of the safest cities in the world. So safe that even in the worst parts it is still ok to walk around at night.

The socialist government takes care of everyone from housing to food to medical. Problem is that they don't get as much as they would like, just what is available. It is far from perfect though the majority is better off now than they were back under Batista's rule.

Yeah I know, ex-coworkers use to do it via Canada IIRC...

ROFLMAO!!! :lol :lol :lol OMG the bow of that "boat" is hilarious. I wonder if they have a rutter towards the stern! :lol

How the heck were they able to get this thing to float? I'm surprised that the car didn't weigh so much (especially with all those Cubans packed into it) that it detatched from the additions and sunk itself.

They seek asylum and the US grants it as we think we're doing some kind of super charity on account of their evil communist government!

Yeah. I not sure but I think it was put into place right after the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was just an attempt to destabalize the country.

I'm not 100% certain on this either but I believe that there is no way the US is allowed to negotiate with Cuba as long as a socialist government is in place. There was a piece of paper that went through congress that stated something along those lines. Basically it means Cuba has to overthrow or change its government before they get any kind of recognition from the US.

In the 50s and 60s the US fucked a lot of little countries around like Guatamala. Cuba was one that got back at them and they have been pretty sore at them ever since.

When I was there, in the resort I was staying in they had photos of 5 Cuban spies that were being detained by the US and trying to get released. The guy there describing the story behind it said that these guys, or some of them, tried to warn the US about 9/11 before it happened stating that planes and shit were going to be used to stike NY. Don't know how much of that is true and how much is false propoganda. Regardless, the guys are spies so all fair in love and war.
