Announcement Trailer

The seventh in the series, it's really got everything a fan could ask for:

written and directed by Don Mancini,

Alex Vincent as Andy,
Brad Dourif as Chucky.
Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany,
Fiona Dourif as Nica,

All it needs is Glen!

Summary:

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions — an all-too-familiar “Good Guy” doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

Guess if they're bringing everything else back it's natural we get a new Chucky movie.

Wonder when we gonna get that Leprechauns sequel.

You got a WWE studio films prequel, shut up and eat your pot of gold.

I still can't believe this is a thing, let alone a thing that birthed a shit prequel to a horror movie I loved as a kid.

Also, I'm shitting myself with excitement over this! The last one was way better than I ever expected it to be. One question, as my memory is hazy:
Wasn't it implied that Chucky killed Andy at the end of Curse?

Other way around.

Curse of Chucky spoilers:

Andy shot Chucky with a shotgun in the post credits sequence.

It's insane that they managed to go back to a somewhat serious plot while still keeping Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky canon.

It also raises a puzzling question. Jennifer Tilly plays Tiffany but Jennifer Tilly also exists in-universe as Jennifer Tilly and is now Tiffany, meaning that Jennifer Tilly is playing a character playing Jennifer Tilly, essentially giving Tiffany her own body back, but I don't think anyone ever mentions the fact that Tiffany looks and sounds like Jennifer Tilly.

Well although she's famous she's not really that famous.

Not sure I'm understanding the hate for Seed in here. That movie was bananas. Hilariously so. This is a great series, ultimately.

I've only actually watched Curse of Chucky and I really liked it.

I did watch another from start to finish, it ended in a toy factory if I remember correctly, but it was entirely in Spanish and I do not know Spanish.

Is it worth going back and watching all of the old movies? Do any of them have a similar tone to Curse?

The first does. The second might. I don't remember that one too well. But the first is definitely the most serious Chucky movie you're gonna get outside of Curse. The series steadily lost control of itself (in a good way, imo) from there on out. The third was my favorite. It's when the comedy began to really creep in.

Watched/rewatched the series recently.

Child's Play: Still a classic.
Child's Play II: Wait this one is a classic too? I did not know that.
Child's Play III: Mediocre, please go back to the drawing board.
Bride of Chucky: I see you did what I asked, can't complain I guess.
Seed of Chucky: Abort, new direction was a mistake, abort!
Curse of Chucky : Not bad considering you had zero dollar to fulfill your mission of restoring the franchise.

Explain the spoiler, please. I don't remember.

Also, my favorite opening scene, ever:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vZuEpmLkow

Chucky used a prosthetic face to cover up all of the stitches and stuff so he'd look like a standard (sort of) Good Guy Doll instead of the Frankenstein mess that he actually is. When his cover's blown he tears it off and he's got his traditional scarred face. That's why his face looks off in that gif

"Never said I wasn't a hypocrite."
Would it have killed them to leave it where Curse ended? Andy finally had closure.

As already stated, the last one was really good and I believe it was direct to video, no? I also thought
Andy was dead
Guess not :D
