Trailer!

The whole saga is going to be released on Blu-Ray as well!

From Bloody Disgusting:

Universal Home Entertainment is looking to release Curse of Chucky, the sixth Child’s Play film following the 2004 Seed of Chucky, on home video October 8, 2013, says this new Amazon pre-order page. In addition, the site also hypes a brand new box set titled “Chucky: The Complete Collection”! With the director list including Don Mancini, Jack Bender, John Lafia, Ronny Yu, and Tom Holland, it’s pretty clear that this collection will be killer, including Child’s Play 1-3, Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky and the newest Curse of Chucky, directed by franchise creator Don Mancini.

We’ve also re-added the first stills that display the new Chucky doll, which is possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (played and voiced by Brad Dourif).

In the sequel directed by creator Don Mancini, “Nica (Fiona Dourif) is grieving over the gruesome suicide of her mother when her domineering older sister Barb (Danielle Bisutti) arrives with her young family in tow to help settle their mother’s affairs. As the sisters butt heads over Nica’s plans for the future, Barb’s young daughter comforts herself with a grinning, red-haired talking doll named Chucky (voiced again by Brad Dourif) that recently arrived mysteriously in the mail. But as a string of brutal murders begins to terrorize the household, Nica suspects the doll may hold the key to the bloodshed. What she doesn’t know is that Chucky has a personal score to settle. He’s determined to finish a job he started more than 20 years earlier, and this time he’s going to see it through to the bloody and shocking end.“
I liked Seed of Chucky tbh and this looks good! :D

Looks good to me, probably because of the fact that I hated the direction of all the goofy ones that came after Child's Play 3. You can definitely see the low-budget, straight to video quality but they seem to have did a good job with it and Chucky's design is closer to the original. Could be awesome.

The CG Chucky kind of ruins it for me. Can't take it seriously. Should have just made another dark comedy.

This will likely make serious bank though because nostalgia. They'll make their budget back and then some.

Actually, after watching it again the CG is pretty subtle. The face still looks weird though. Gonna have to get used to it.

I have to come to terms with the face, and I hope they work this into the true canon some how. Will be there day one!

By the trailer, I don't like how the face looks. There's something inconsistent about it. It looks different in every shot.

Looks nice. Thought this was going to the big screen though. What happened to that? Either way it's nice to see the comedy shit gone. So pissed that to this day I refuse to acknowledge those two pieces of shit they made after 3.

Given Chucky's appearance, I think it's safe to say the writers are ignoring those 2 movies.

As they should be. Child's play was at it's best as a horror movie. I still to this day wonder what the hell they were smoking to think that those two movies post 3 were even remotely good ideas.

Oh I liked both Bride and Seed mainly for Jennifer Tilly.

She tried really hard to sell those movies and I think she had a blast filming them (specially Seed) because she was always so enthusiastic about them.

Also the Jennifer/Tiffany/Joan telephone scene from Seed of Chucky always cracks me up.

The Child's play movies progressively moved from a horror flick to a horror comedy. And that's mostly because there is only so much you can do before a killer doll becomes comical.

So in order to benefit from this, they went all out and tried to market it a full blown horror comedy—doll sex included. I think Bride of Chucky did well at the box office, but was really damaging in the eyes of the core Chucky fanbase. I personally am disgusted by both flicks, more so Bride of Chucky. The farce style in Seed of Chucky allows me to enjoy it more. But the damage was already done, as we saw with Seed of Chucky's box office numbers.

These movies were awesome back in the day when I was a kid, but now I realise that the concept of a house full of adults being terrorized by a two-feet doll is pretty silly.

Child's Play will always be tainted for me due to the media linking it with the Jamie Bulger murder, somehow its still the first thing I think of when I see anything about Chucky :(

doesnt MGM still own the rights to CP 1? That's why they weren't never able to make a complete collection on DVD...

Wonder what happened with the game? The concept art looked messed up (in a good way)

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Studios license out movies to complete box sets pretty often.
Also, CP. /snicker

Chucky looks more like a girl in a lot of the shots now. It's weird. Also the hair looks longer or more full or something. It just looks like there's more hair than the original.

Looking forward to seeing how well this works. I found the original films to be pretty tedious, but loved Bride of Chucky. Good splatter comedy that I felt balanced the goofy premise with a well-executed story and some fun kills. It suited the Child's Play concept beautifully. Didn't realize it was a low point for so many franchise fans.

Seed of Chucky, by contrast, missed the mark. The meta-comedy was a lot of fun, but everything else about the film was extremely poor. Glad this movie is heading in a new direction.

Bride I think was generally liked, but Seed was awful and went to far into the goofy side of things.

As a long time Child's Play fan I actually feel the same way. Sure, the first two scared the shit out of me as a child (third was pure shit; worst in series), but as I grew up I started to realize how ridiculous the plot was and accepted Bride of Chucky as the way the premise should be handled.

There's only so many movies where you can take a possessed killer doll running around seriously before you just start rolling your eyes. As soon as it stopped taking itself serious is when I feel it really hit its stride. Too bad it went a little too crazy with Seed.

I am so glad they are skipping the comedy and trying to go back to the darker roots. It's not as truly scary as the original film, no, but they are trying dammit. I'd have paid to see this in theaters for sure.

Doesn't look like it'll be as bad as Seed of Chucky. That movie was Full Moon bad.

They got the Good Guy doll right but I don't like the new "Chucky face". Whatever though. Despite "Bride" making some bread this series basically died with 3.

i really liked the first two movies as a kid. the third kind of sucked ... didn't bother with the last two, but i'd probably appreciate them for what they are

i might check this out if it has continuity with the andy barclay story. if its just CHUCKY'S BACK then no thanks

Fuck yes, I am in. Face is weird, but the CG is better than I thought it would be.

Is this a reboot? And straight to DVD/BD??

I thought this franchise is bigger than that.

Nope; this is a side story to test out the waters of going back to it's horror roots. The actual reboot will be a theatrical.

They'll be showing this on the big screen at UK Frightfest looks like a movie better seen with a packed cinema.

Good trailer. And regular inanimate Chucky looks great. I just wish they would hide his "alive" form a bit more. It's better to leave that part to the imagination. And far more creepy.
