That was just part of the review, she also mentioned the bugs, poor world building, felt the side quests didn’t mean much for the main story and a few others that I can’t remember.

So, we were discussing that specific aspect of the review. Most of the reviews absolutely praise the world building and side quests, by the way.

So what is the conclusion? If not for bugs it would be close to 100?

Overall very good marred by some bugginess but reviews it seems were done prior to the day 1 patch so there may be updates to scores. 91 now, so they didn't seem to bother most reviewers all that much. Read, watch, digest yourself though.

Nothing then. 11.4 fps on a 3 month old, £700 GPU.

Maybe the 3090 can get to 30 with a small settings reduction.

I'm still thinking there is someone weird going on though, figures are too low for the total package presented imo.

So you just looked at the score for PCGamer and assumed it was "ideologically skewed?" Do a word search for "trans" on PCGamer and see how often it comes up. The Gamespot review has exactly one paragraph related to MIXITUP and representation in general and it comes well within the review and isn't particularly unfair.

. . .fine to criticize reviews that are reviewing ideology and not the game but at least focus on those that are and not just kneejerking it.

In my opinion, yes my opinion, that shouldnt be there in the first place. I dont care if its mentioned only 1 time or 10, it shouldnt be there. Also fun how you leave out exactly the Polygon review which talks about that the most. But hey you need to defend them so you chose the parts that help your view.

What does an ad with a female/android with a dildo or a guy who was even fired from their twitter making a stupid joke, has anything to do with the actual game?? How does that talk about the quality of the game, why does it need to even be in the review? Huh ? Maybe I'm too stupid to understand and I need your progressive ascended mind to englighten me.

It looks like this game will be a masterpiece but in a month or two after some patches because now the greatness is covered by a mess of a bugs

Going by the benchmarks in this thread you will need to use DLSS to even get 30fps if you want Ultra settings + RTX at your res. If you want 60 fps + RTX + Ultra I think you need to go to a much lower res than your native or disable RTX.

Hopefully the Ultra settings are over the top though and can be reduced with little quality loss to gain massive frames back.
Oh wow. Thanks for this. Well, in a way, I'm happy there's a game pushing systems this hard. But, at the same time, it doesn't look mind blowingly amazing. Gonna dig through these benchmarks a little more.

If a game did nothing but relegate White Males to token bigots/bad guys and had a person-of-color as protag and a Mary Sue, you wouldn't be complaining about that even if the game was fundamentally a good one? I find that hard to believe.
You know, you could easily see that ad as a positive for representation, because in a sense the game is saying that in the future even trans people are happily exploited on billboards, just like men and women are today. In other words, they've become so commonplace and accepted in the culture, that you can use them to sell a soft drink.

So what I'm saying is the scenario you created is a total false equivalency.

Got valhalla to get through first. Hopefully they sort out any big bugs in a month or two.

Yeah, almost certainly some bugs cause performance issues.

Performance might see a big improvement with the Day 1 patch and drivers.

I'd wait until the games out, the inevitable New Drivers for it have landed and other sites have benched it
People just need to read the first paragraph:

However, there's a major disclaimer: This is near-final code, but CDPR has been working on bug fixes, tuning, and optimization for the past couple of weeks. AMD and Nvidia are also working on driver improvements, and the preview copy includes Denuvo protection. That could impact CPU performance in particular, which is why this is a preview of how the game runs. The final release code should perform at least this well, and hopefully a bit better.

It is running Denuvo which has always tanked performance and not even the optimized builds. I bet the benchmarks will be much better.

Well, count me as another one of the many users who has come here from Resetera just because I wanna discuss about videogames on a goddamn videogame forum, and especially to chat about one of the most hyped games of this generation alongside its mechanics, peacefully, without harassment, labellings and bullies to people who just wanna fucking play videogames and inmerse themselves, some even do it to just get a chance to forget about their real life problems for a moment..

As side note: i got tired of the all "offensiveness" coming from Resetera, It's become a total mess full of hypocrisy on every corner.; And I can totally say this as a person who basically "Hates Trump", and who's had a serious relationship with a transgender woman in the past, a woman who has all my respect as a person, including any member of the trans community.

You see, I just cannot relate with the transphobia issue claims ( I'm pretty sure, some trans membera cannot either; including trans members known to be working on the game at CDPR). We are talking about a world that was created in the 80s which pretty much tales about the dark future. Obviously, fuck up shit is being displayed all over the place. violence, sexualized ads for all genders, augmentations of all types, decadence, oppression, drugs, inequality, smuggling etc, etc. WTF were some offended expecting to see in this game??

Anyway, I'm looking forward to play this game at launch. Although I will be playing Cyberpunk my on base PS4, and I'm a bit worried about its actual state after the day one patch.

Jesus fucking christ, what a well written review it seems to be

IGN US, on the other hand: "game looks cool, shooting is nice, everything awesome. Some bugs, yeah, I rate it a 9"
The reviewer's name is Shōhei Fujita,he's a writer.

Close to 60fps with Ultra RT and DLSS at 1440p on a 3080 seams "ok" to me. The RT is pretty insane and will be crazy in motion. Lots of sceptics when it comes to RT but I'm a believer since WD: Legion. Only RT reflections but it changes so much. Fucking breakthrough tech IMO.

How long is the honeymoon period going to last for this one? When will we start seeing "Cyberpunk 2077 is a pile of buggy shit and it's not all that great overall" threads.

When will the hivemind decide it's "OK" to shit on this one I wonder?

There is NO DAY1 PATCH YET, it's literally a DAY 1 PATCH. Many honest reviwers have stated that the thing is a buggy mess even after the day -5 patch that was 40+gbs.

It's not that it's OBVIOUS that they played with a magical patch, it's OBVIOUS that they're dishonest fucks that don't want to ruin their company's ad revenue from CDPR.

The fact that CDPR isn't allowing a reviewers OWN FOOTAGE in the pre-release reviews is a very BAD and TELLING sign of what state this thing is in.

I'm loving it already and the game is not even out yet.

IGN Japan doesn't represent Asian people precisely in the same way self-appointed Trans activists on Era do not represent the whole so-called Trans community. IGN Japan review binds no one but their editorial staff. A statement by a member of GAF, a member of ResetEra, binds no one but themselves. Asian people did not elect IGN Japan as their representative. Same applies to activists on Era.

Furthermore, arguments are not automatically right or wrong according to the person who makes them. A Trans person can be wrong about Trans issues, Italians can be right about what's best for Iran, a tall person can potentially know more about the reality short people face than any specific short individual themselves .

But If anyone insists only Trans are allowed or qualified to talk about relevant issues, show them the IGN Japan review. By their own logic, they'll have to concede and dismiss the allegations of racism and Cyberpunk 2077. Or they'll realize their logic is flawed.

Collectivism is a profoundly flawed way of looking at the world.

So GOG is DRM-free, but what about Steam and Epic versions?

I left Polygon out because it's the only one that actually matched the criticism you were leveraging against the three publications.

. . .and I don't need to defend anyone - I have no stake or stock in the company. Just commenting on obviously kneejerk posts that haven't actually read what they are complaining about.

I'm glad the reviews point out some problems because that will make easier for me to wait to the enhanced PS5 version. Then I will enjoy what I'm sure it will become one of the best games I've played, same as The Witcher 3.

Man some of these bugs are Bethesda level and even beyond. If BGS gets shit on for their buggy worlds I think this one deserves the same treatment. I mean, look at this lol

Witcher 3 had great performance at launch and not many bugs, at least on PC.
I had a completely opposite experience. Experienced a number of bugs. One of the worst issues I frequently experienced involved me falling through the environment. It happened to me more than it ever did in ANY other open world game I've ever played. Hell, or any other game period. It was so bad that I gave up on it because it was so frustrating.

This was on PC.

Performance was good though, so there's that. But I'm sure we'll see various CP:2077 improvements come launch.

From the Tom's Hardware article;
"If you're after smooth 60 fps performance, you're going to need to aim quite a bit higher on the hardware specs (unless the day-0 launch patch provides an unprecedented boost to performance). "

So it sounds like they didn't have any sort of patch applied? A couple of reviewers said that day-0 patch that they applied midway through their playthrough gave noticeable performance improvements. I'm still confused as to the day-0 vs day-1 patch, if they're the same thing, and which of the reviewers/publications had it, and which didn't.

I'm hoping to get 60 fps at 1440p High/Ultra with RT High/Ultra and DLSS on a 2080 Super, so hopefully whatever patch is applied for us on launch will help reach that.

Thanks for compiling a list of shit sites/youtubes i should avoid

Anyone who has a skidmark next to their name on twitter/twitch is safe to ignore. it used to be that you had to have to actually be someone to get the holy blue skidmark, nowadays any grifter with a couple of thousand followers gets one. It's totally devalued and anyone that treats it as some sign of status signifier is best ignored.

Im staying away from videos and most review for now. Anyone know how many difficulty options are there? I managed to finish TW3 on the highest difficulty after losing my sanity but it was worth it HehehEHHEhEHehheEH

I watched a leaked video where the guy kept getting killed, so he lowered the difficulty and there were 4 levels. It appears to be easy, normal, hard and very hard.

Here are some games that I've played in recent memory that are bugs galore, hurting the immersive experience games are supposed to provide. It's unacceptable:

- Days Gone
- Witcher 3
- Miles Morales
- FF7R
- Outer Worlds
- Black Ops 4
- Dying Light

It's time to get real.
Especially with the rising price in AAA games, constant immersive breaking bugs are unacceptable and should be factored into all reviews. The fact Cyberpunk is in a near unplayable state and is rated as high as it is pathetic. The fact that Miles Morales & Days Gone launched the way they did is pathetic. It's even more pathetic that 5 years later, I experienced numerous bugs in witcher 3 when I played through it this year. Don't hold your breath for the Cyberpunk bugs to be completely fixed for a while if at all.

This is highly anti-consumer as people with bad wifi or live in a poor country are getting a butchered game right out of the box.

STOP NORMALIZING SLOPPY GAMES

I'll be playing on my TV while sitting on my couch. So I think I'll lock it at max settings 4k30. I need the prettyness and I'm not sure I can get it to 4k60 with my rtx 3080.

Twitter doesn't give out Blue Checkmarks in general anymore certainly not to non-essential folks like journalist/influencers.
