Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Announced (PS5 Pro patch is not included in this update)

People in here asking for a PS5 Pro patch crack me up. Like. The least necessary console update in history and now getting butthurt a developer won't spend a ton of extra time catering to them. Just play the game or get a PC if you want the top of the line graphics.

And people like you crack me up. Like. When yall told us they weren't updating a 4 year old game anymore and then they announce Update 2.2 and now getting butthurt that yall were wrong the entire time. If they announce a PS5 Pro patch one day, I don't wanna see you crying about it.

I honestly don't care. I play on PC. I've played through several times. If they DID make a PS5 Pro patch I'd be stoked for you guys. But why get mad at the developers for not catering to the less than 1% of people that own a PS5 Pro?

That's what i wanted to know. Thanks. Mods can make the game look better, but the game had bigger problems than just that.
The "problems" with the game are mainly it being an action-adventure title with RPG elements. If you play action-adventure games there is really no reason to skip it because the main quest and principal side quests are pretty compelling and tackle themes not seen in big name RPGs. And Phantom Liberty expands on the level of choice and consequence seen in the main campaign.

It's hard to claim that a game with a 94% recent reviews rating on Steam is "bad".

Fuck you, I'm alright jack, isnt exactly an endearing attitude. People nudging the publishing marketing team and letting them know what they want isn't a bad thing. Its great they're getting some tweets asking for it.

I'm not mad, just disappointed that they talk the way they do. It's clear to us now that they lie about development and then surprise gamers that they've actually been working on stuff all along. I'm just disappointed that they've decided to publicly shutdown the idea of PS5 Pro development, even though they are probably working on it as we speak.

That's a fair point. But I see comments like "and these fuckers won't even add a pro patch" and "no pro no buy" in the comments of this thread. So to me that's not a gentle nudging. But yes. I totally get wanting a patch if you have a PS5 Pro.
But to be like "Fuck these guys!" seems a little dramatic.

I don't know what they can add now, the game is complete. FSR 3 on consoles would be great.
The day I'm getting a new TV, I'm subscribing to GeForce now so I can play CP2077 with path tracing though. The PC version is so ahead of the console versions, it's crazy.

I'm happy to see the overwhelming PS5 Pro request is getting noticed by the devs. Maybe, they'll work on that knowing that there will be more PS5 Pro owners than Apple MacBook owners willing to buy and play CyberPunk 2077.
I wouldnt be surprised if Apple paid them for the Mac support, tho

They for sure paid Capcom to put RE games on the iphone.

Every Pro owner and future Pro owner already owns both? The PS6 will use PSSR and be backward compatible. Do they want to stop selling this game in 4 years or do they want it to sell for a decade? If they don't like money I understand. But you gotta put in work sometimes. Not much risk for potentially nice rewards.
It's a good point, the PS6 is probably going to run PS5 games in Pro mode if they have a patch. Alternatively, maybe their goal is to combine the base game and DLC and better graphics/features in a PS6 "Ultimate Edition" release that they want to sell.

The game already works on Pro. They working on a Pro and PS6 patches (if needed) is them working for free. 🤷‍♂️

I'm retarded?
As a main PC player(i do have a ps5 as well) and the fact that i consider Cyberpunk2077 my favorite game of all time, I find this news a bit tone-deaf and incredibly insulting to PS5 Pro owners after they specifically said they stopped updating the game and they're releasing a new update after the release of the PS5 pro. Like what the fuck? Am I the only one who thinks this is dumb as shit? If you didnt stop working on the game then why the fuck wont you delay the patch and give the pro owners some good news since everyone already knew there wont be any new patches anyway. Lmao.

I hope this is more than just running the game on Mac. Hopefully they update the year old FSR version they decided to implement or some steam deck optimizations.

What they would even do with that Pro patch?

-PSSR could potentially look bad in their game
-120fps is not possible thanks to CPU
-RT they use is very heavy and AMD unfriendly, I doubt they would be able to add even RT reflections with 45% upgrade in power

Increased resolution? Game already have DRS.

I think they know exactly who does.

Of course no actual numbers for the PlayStation versions of they're games.

Nice try but nobody is turning down that PlayStation money.

To the 🤡's who don't think they should enhance this for the Pro...make sure you keep that same energy when the 5000 series and other future PC upgrades release.

CD Project should just announce the 2.2 patch will feature a Pro mode. All the Pro owners can then spend 3 months insisting that the experience on Pro is much better because of this one out of frame object being slightly more reflective and that they swear the frame rate is 90 instead of 85. CD Project can then announce that they actually hadn't changed anything and the rest of us could have a good laugh.

I'd like:

  1. Being able to sit on benches
  2. The subway system being more dynamic
  3. Far-off cars not being 8 pixel 2D images that jerk from place to place
  4. Some new bar/restaurant interiors that serve no gameplay function

8 million copies of the expansion sold, so 1.6 million sold on PS5.

Base game has sold 30 million. Going with the numbers they shared (20-25 percent depending on the year) that's about 6-7.5 million copies sold on PS4/PS5. So impressive, but hardly the main source of sales.

Of course they should enhance it for the Pro, and it's disappointing that they are not doing it yet.
