I think steampunk has a great aesthetic (especially the Miyazaki movies), but I'm all about cyberpunk. Many of my favorite movies and literature have been cyberpunk in origin. <3 Blade Runner, Snow Crash, Neuromancer.

I thought that was called retro fusion.

Also Giant Robo anime would qualify as steam punk.

"retro fusion" has a serious lack of 'punk in it, thus disqualifying it.
