At the FutureShop Toronto midnight, pretty much everyone got Dance Central. I'm not going to be surprised if it's going at close to a 1:1 sale rate...

Just started. OK. It's clear I need the Break it Down section first... :lol

Figured this might be the case, which is good as it needs to stand on its own.

I can see this game exploding in popularity after checking the track list and potential DLC. All videos are entertaining to watch as well, I'm surprised they didn't go the EA route and had a "community" where Kinect records you and uploads it to the web, ala Def Jam Rapstar
Gotta keep something for Dance Central 2!

Hm.

Downloadable songs available today: Ne-Yo's Because of You and Lady Sovereign's I Got You Dancing -- the availability of both songs occured after the two played a concert Wednesday in New York's Times Square. Also out as DLC today is Sean Paul's Temperature. Each song is available for $2.99 or 240 Microsoft Points.

SHIT!

Never mind!

DLC IS UP:
"Because Of You"
"I Got You Dancing"
"Temperature"

I expect Dance Central 2 to be the 10/10 game everyone was hoping for. Dance Central reminds me of RB, give it some time to grow.

That's a bit much for a song, no? :S

They're claiming it's because of added stuff they have to do for each new song, write new choreo, mo-cap it, etc, as opposed to regular Rock Band DLC ($1.99).

they announced we'd be looking at a bit more than a rock band song prior to release.

it's not too bad though. it takes them longer to do each song because they have to choreograph it, animate all the dancing, and make any new icons required for dance moves that aren't in other songs.

Poker Face looks pretty under choreographed considering how intense the song is in the video clip. A bit disappointing.

Still, nice to see DLC is already starting to flow in. Hoping that they manage to keep it up.

Each song has 3 separate difficulty routines to it as well. There is just more work involved than the traditional RockBand dlc. Still $3 will require looking it up on YT before buying.

It's a pretty smart move though, you start everyone off with an almost universally recognizable song, and easy enough for everyone to jump in and get hooked.

love dancing

want to play this badly

It's so much fun. Even though I completely fucked up that Jerk song it was still the most fun just to even come close to such illing stuff. In other words, the choreography really makes the game.

The DLC is smaller in size than I expected, 6-8MB for the song + choreography.

$3 feels like a fair price. I'll likely give in and buy it all :p

Oh MAN.

I totally forgot, this Dirty Vegas song is the one with the dude breakdancing outside the Drive Thru in the video and the choreo TOTALLY nails it.

Man. So awesome.

Days Go By? Truly an awesome video.

A note on DLC. I have "Control" and the Lady Sov song. "Control" clearly has new choreo, the LS song looks like it is just rearranged moves already in the game.

("Control" was Best Buy exclusive DLC which is really a shame because it is fucking awesome.)

So, caveat emptor. I would imagine, if I had to hazard a guess, the Lady Sovereign and Ne-Yo DLC were linked to who was performing on Launch Day. I'm guessing they were available and/or within the price range MS was willing to pay or whatever but I'd bet they came first, the DLC second, so that their songs were not given the full DLC treatment. "Control" seems to back this up. Anyone who gets "Temperature" might be able to shed more light on the situation as I don't think Sean Paul performed.

The LS song still is a fun song to dance to, though, but it's something to keep in mind.

BB are you the only gaffer that has this game right now? :lol

Well I should have it waiting in the mail for me today. Don't know if I'll get to set it all up, but this will definitely be an activity for a Saturday get-together.

I have it too. Haven't gotten much playtime on it though.

Holy shit, man.

"Don't Sweat The Technique" is my "Free Bird". Best song in the game. Pure hip hop jams. Awesome choreography.

Is it mostly hip-hop style dancing? Any 70's disco style dancing?

Yup. "Funkytown" is pure disco.

Yeah moving into our new space and seeing how much room we have made it pretty easy. We sort of have the perfect setup for Kinect -- 54" TV, about 9' from where we would be standing to the sensor, and only a roll-away ottoman in the middle. Also my wife and friends though not nerds like me are huge suckers for stuff like dance central. I was considering move for a little while but honestly I kind of hate motion controls on the wii so an improved version of that, no matter how good, really doesn't do it for me. I think the refinement of this is well below move, but the novelty is much greater and that's the more important factor here.

ARRRGGH.

Just spent like the last half hour trying to nail the very first move in "Hey Mami". Step Center.

SHIT. MAKES. NO. SENSE. TO. MY. LEGS.

And it's supposedly one of the easiest moves. I even broke it down super slow.

OMG.

Agent Icebeezy

Welcome beautful toddler, Madison Elizabeth, to the horde!
Dance Central: Sitting in my car
Kinect Hardware: On a UPS truck to my place
Xbox 360: In Texas being repaired

This shit just isn't fair.

Hmmm $3 rehashes won't work long term...hopefully this doesnt turn into a trend.

I can also confirm that harder levels of a song completely change up the move set, so 31 tracks is kind of misleading. There are 90 something routines (Easy, Medium, Hard).

Damn, when is Best Buy going to ship this already. Good thing I'll be in Vegas for the weekend or I'd really be irritated.

Bought this game and K Sports (and Wii Party for my daughter) from Target's buy 2 get 1 free sale! Picking up Kinect after work! Excited. My wife and I used to do choreo, so I'm excited to play this!

SOMEhow I nailed that move and 5 starred "Hey Mami".

(On Easy.)

PHOOOOO.

I was kind of overdancing it. It's really a simple move that I was, I think, putting too much, I dunno, butter on?

I wish someone would upload videos of the dance steps for the other songs, so I can get a gauge of the DLC choreography *cough cough Ne-Yo

On the other hand, I feel sorry that this game is getting all the hype because Dance Masters by Konami also releases simultaneously. I feel like I should support Konami after that "entertaining" E3 conference.

8.5 from OXM. It maybe good too. Not sure if there anymore reviews out for it.

I just tried the demo,I hate dance games,in fact I hate dancing period,in real life as well lol but I thought it was really well done and I actually liked it,dancing to Poker Face of all things :lol ....this will in fact be the killer app for Kinect and one of the big reason Kinect will be a success I believe...

Anybody knows what is up with the recall?
My target order got delayed to january and I think that is probably the reason why. It says in the page that the game will ship in 2-4 weeks.
