Dark Souls 3 Remaster Currently In Development, Says Insider

If true, this remaster should be quick and easy enough for a skeleton crew to do it.

Inb4 people will still think that From are using their primary resources to do it though.

The remaster culture is getting crazy out of hand... Dark Souls 3 looks pretty damn good. Hell you could probably take some DS3 screenshots and tell people they're new leaked Elden Ring DLC and they'd probably believe you.

My initial reaction:

Vs my actions when it actually releases:

So I guess that's why.

Anything but a new game.

Spare me the commentary on "it's not necessarily taking away from new games!" That argument is basically a remaster at this point, too.
I mean let's be honest, it's to sell people shit on consoles to experience PC versions all over again. I truly believe the only reason GTA 5 RT didn't get a PC port is because there's no way you're going to sell that stuff to PC owners for 50 dollars.

I legit wonder what's keeping them away from doing a new King's field follow up. Would be a nice addition to diversify their portfolio.

Sadly, most folks will ignore your comment. Its true. People seem to think these things are just "copy-paste" one-and-done projects. They're not.

Sure I would take it.
But remaster all 3 games. Ds1 have bad remaster, ds2 needs a remaster to add original lights, ds3 looks amazing and can look even better? No problem with that. It's only 1080p on consoles anyway.

Ds3 looks better than elden ring. But only on pc. PS4 version is 1080p no anti aliasing.
It needs a remaster

I like to play dark souls 3 at 8k dsr to 4k, it looks very good.

I'd like to see hdr, ray tracing, dolby atmos and other modern things from elden ring incorporated in the remastered version.

I'll buy the collector's edition if one is released fir sure!

Last time I checked (today), DS3, a 8 years old game, is still full price on the Xbox store (currently on sale at 50%, but…).
It's pure robbery for such an old game that, to my knowledge, runs at 900p. So yeah, remaster it and sell the remaster at a reasonable price.
BTW, Dark Souls 1 Remastered is still €40 and never goes on sale below 50%.

They aren't the world's biggest studio and Souls is their current cash cow.
Why would they invest in a forgotten IP that's extremely niche?
The only times you see King's Field mentioned is on forums, or in online pieces about Souls where the pundit of the day wants to flaunt their knowledge of FS games before they were cool.

Easy money. I mean... Just put "from the makers of Elden Ring", in the trailer and all the new fans that have only played Elden Ring will bite. 10 mil more sales for the best Souls game.

I love dark souls 3. But it plays flawlessly on the ps5 and on the pro it looks almost 4k. A remaster is not really needed imo.

Only if you are blind. It was pre-TAA game so it has terrible IQ.

It's already 60fps on PS5 (but 1080p) and 4k 60 on pc. There is one little game that needs remaster treatment much more called... BloodBorne

I agree, it same with Sekiro which plays flawlessly on PS5.

I want remaster of games you can't play on modern system like Armored Core games.

Armored Core series finally got new life thanks to 6th game, it's time bring capitalize on that.

We've had almost nothing but cross-gen games for four years, and now that we are finally starting to break away from that, we get a flood of "remasters" from last-gen.

What the hell is going on?
