Just played through Belial DLC, I'm amazed at how bad it was. 35 minute long shitty linear dungeon and a boss. I saw that Uriel was there and wanted some new dialog with her at least, but no, she's a fucking shop.

got the game during the Steam sale, loving it so far (much more enjoyable than the first one imo) but apparently I'm stuck now

here's the problem - I'm in the last room of the Boneriven dungeon with one of the invisible enemies. I don't have the amulet to make them visible yet (I didn't even know such thing existed until I googled it). The doors behind me are closed, I can't use fast-travel*. End of the game for me?

*well, it seems the game fixed itself

I just picked this up (PC version) since it was on sale with all the DLC (I think) on Amazon and would activate on Steam. And now for a completely ridiculous question that I'm sure will make me look stupid . . .

Concerning the PC version . . . how the hell do you close the game out and return to the desktop?!?! "Quit Game" takes me back to the title screen where my only option is "Start Game" - the only way I seem able to quit the game is to Ctl+Alt+Del the damn thing!! Am I missing something, or is this just indicative of how horrible the PC port is?

The menu options should look like this.

Yeah, that menu finally showed up after I either saved the first time or beat the old guy in the first area (not sure which it was). Still, pretty ridiculous that I couldn't exit out prior to that and get my resolution and graphic options to take affect.

Before, the only thing showing up was this:

Yeah, you need to save the first time to get to the "exit to desktop menu", and yup I think that it's ridiculous that you can't change your resolution or another options before you start the game, not a big deal, but ridicuous!!!

Hey guys I bought the Darksiders pack on amazon and there's a lot of DLCs for Darksiders 2. Do I only need to redeem the game code and season pass on steam?

The Season Pass is 20GB on Amazon page, what gives?

I bought some Darksiders 2 DLC to burn some lingering Amazon credit. If you, or someone you love dearly would like codes for the Rusanov's Axe and / or the Van der Schmash Hammer, shoot me a PM.

Yo, anyone with the Steam version run into the problem of trying to launch Darksiders II and it telling you it's trying to run Direct X 9 Web setup and keeps cycling it then tells you the app is already running? Tried damn near everything at this point, ran the setup separately, already had DX9 installed via stand alone, tried uninstalling DSII then reinstalling it, uninstalling DX9 and reinstalling it, everything. Fuckin A

Try using this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tikione/

It finds the useless install executables that are hiding in the steamapps folder. Deleting them usually skips straight to launching the game.

I tried to play this yesterday with some downsampling, but the performance was terrible. I have a gtx670 sli setup and as far as I can see, both the CPU and the GPUs have very low utilization, yet the game runs like crap.

Any ideas how to improve performance? Maybe change some bits in Inspector?

Been thinking about picking up Darksiders II for Wii U. I never got around to buying the game on PC when it first came out, because I just had too many other games to play, but now I do have the time, and would love to get it for my shiny new Wii U.

Does anyone know how good the menu/map touch screen interface stuff is? That's really what interests me the most about playing it on Wii U.

Finally started this after leaving it unplayed since release. The combat is more fun, the enviromental design is very well done and the music is great. It feels like this game will be much longer than the first one, or maybe it's just me being slow as usual.

The game is definitely longer than the first one, but ends up suffering for it, sadly.

Playing through this right now and I have got to ask. What the hell were they thinking when they designed the
Earth section?
When you got the
gun or later the grenade launcher
I thought it was going to be like Darksiders 1, a short-ish section to break up normal gameplay. But man did it drag on. And it was horrible.

Started playing on Wii U last night, and while I'm enjoying the game, there are a couple things I don't feel like the game has clearly explained, and it's left me a little confused:

1) The game kept telling me I could go back to town using fast travel spots while I was unlocking the Cauldron, but the map never shows a Fast Travel spot. Did I miss it? What do they look like?

2) What is Reaper energy? The game told me it exists, but never told me what it does, or even how to use it. The game didn't even tell me to use the look mode to aim my bomb throws, and I kinda figured that out by trial and error. It also never told me how to use wrath abilities. I had to look that up as well.

3) It's not much of a question, but it's a bit irritating that neither main nor optional objectives show up on gamepad map. It makes the map largely kind of useless outside of dungeons.

I don't really feel like the game does a particularly good job of explaining any of the mechanics in the game. I had no idea how to use my wrath powers until I looked it up in the "manual" in the box. The games doesn't even list controls in the menu anywhere. It's bizarre.

So far, I think the game is really fun (this is coming from a big fan of the first game), but I sometimes have no idea how to perform specialized actions. I will say, though, that the motion control dodge is actually pretty good. I still think pressing R to dodge is much more precise at a moment's notice, but nothing to press it to dodge and just shaking the controller definitely frees you up to perform other actions.

I just wish I could change the wrath button to something else. Having to lose lock on just to use my teleport slash is kind of irritating.

Strange. I didn't have these problems in the PC version. Reaper energy will be explained soon enough. I think it is when you get the ability to change into Death's Reaper form. The game told me how to do it in a boss battle.

Strangely, even if you have motion controls turned off in the menu, it still says dodge is "shake gamepad" and doesn't actually tell you what button to press alternatively. I had to look that up as well.

I can't remember how to do that ATM, but the game did a shit job at explaining it. Never, not once, did it mention how to perform the 'fast travel', so I eventually found it by googling.

it turns out that fast travel just involves clicking on any landmark on the world map. I don't know why such a simple operation was so difficult to teach.

Hey folks

Anyone know how to get the PS3 controller working with the PC version? I'm using Motionjoy and the game will not detect my controller

I have dualshock 3, motion joy and cheap bluetooth adapter and it works just fine. I even tried it with Darksiders II once.

You can find MJ tutorials on youtube.

I need some help guys, I just bought the Mortis Pack from Amazon, added the steam key, but it seems that I can't find the weapon, I searched in the serpent's tome and nothing, am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I started a new game and the mortis pack apperead, but strangely on my + game doesn't

You have to set in the "Xbox 360 Controller Emulator" mode, like most PC games. If it doesn't work still you should reconnect your controller or restart motioninjoy.

So I'm a bit confused right now. Playing the game on 360 and I just completed the dungeon in Lostlight where you get the portal item and had the fight with the Archon. Straight after that I noticed that the game is now in unlocked 60fps in some parts, where before it always seemed 30fps or lower. Is something wrong with my TV or is it the game? I don't have any motion plus settings turned on...

Just got the game and was about to buy some of the level DLC, but what I'm reading about them isn't exactly encouraging... can you access them from the main story/campaign/whatever or are they completely separated from it?

Dunno If I've asked this before but when I first bought the game I didn't redeem my crucible code.

I attempted a couple weeks back and it wouldn't work. I've emailed THQ but I doubt there is there anymore to read anything.

Am I screwed?

So I'm like 20 hours into the game and still only just finishing the second world (and by finish I mean the main story stuff, I haven't finished the one optional boss - that I know of anyway). It's a decent, if barebones, PC port, but is certainly not a looker on the PC (though obviously looks better at PC resolution and framerate than I'd imagine the console versions look). However . . .

The game really is far too long. The main issue is it only suffers for it because it doesn't give itself any reason for being this long. Sure, there are story reasons for every dungeon that's not optional, but in twenty hours I've only gotten like two powers that actually influence traversal of the dungeons - meaning they all end up having the same style puzzles and mechanics and that's just horrid game design when every other plot point has someone saying, "You need to do this, but first you must find these three (or four) so-and-so things" in order to go there. This obviously means three (or four) more dungeons that all play like the last.

The combat is engaging enough that I'm still having fun with it, but the actual level design is painfully repetitive. Worse yet I've seen some objects throughout the game world that clearly indicate there's at least one more "power" (that's not a buyable combat power) that I've yet to get, but with no indication of when the damn thing will show up in the storyline I'm really starting to get burnt out.

I was mostly enjoying myself, even with the ridiculous "fetch three things" over and over, until the
Earth section
. Holy shit, that entire section should have been removed. Turned what was a game with pretty enjoyable combat into a boring, "run backwards and shoot," terrible third-person shooter.

I picked this up during the Humble Bundle, although I haven't really had time to touch it until now.

I have to say that I really agree with a lot of the comments above, after approximately 5-6 hours of play. There are a lot of glaring flaws that become difficult to come to terms with, especially when looking online to find out that this game is approximately 20 hours long.

Overall, it's fun - the combat is nice and learning new moves and finding "stylish" ways to go about it is a joy in and of itself - but I have to agree that the lack of traversal options that become unlocked relatively soon is what hampers my enjoyment. As much as it tries to be Zelda, it really doesn't come through with giving you new abilities in an effective pace; you don't really feel as if you're growing, just grinding out gear to match out the stats of the effective area.

Hopefully it picks up. 20 hours doesn't sound long given most of the stuff that I usually play, but I fear it's going to become a slow grind sooner rather than later.

Picked it up during the Steam Summer Sale, liking it so far. Faster combat compared to the first Darksiders is a huge plus for me.

But right now I'm stuck on a possibly really stupid problem... I'm doing the "Heart of the Mountain" and am at this location:

0521-.jpg

Although, unfortunately, this is not a screenshot of my game since I'm stuck to the wall with the vines and no button can get death to jump over to the wooden post. He just keeps clinging there.
Playing with my XBox 360 Controller.

Anybody can tell me what to do?

Edit: Yeah, been falling into the lava 30 times, and RIGHT after posting here I remember that I have to hold LT to get death facing away from the wall.. <.<

I rebought the game today.. I already had it so feel free to PM me and you can give my new code a shot since I have no use for it.

Snap. I totally forgot about the game after I posted this. Thank you for offering.

Anywho, bought this again on Wii U recently. Its a shame people came so down on it over time, its attention to deal in art, weapon design and combat trumps a lot of its flaws for me. Likewise its soundtrack while repetitive, really is soothing.

Also much as I shit on the console, nearly zero lag off-tv play makes game infinitely more enjoyable.

Its clear the game suffers from having to many people working on assets and not enough working on crafting a consistant experience. But i still recommend it.

I have an OC 6950.

Good lord the performance of the PC version is garbage.

It doesn't even maintain 60FPS.

It jumps from 30-45FPS. Awful.

The game doesn't even look demanding yet the performance seems to be terrible. What gives?

This game is pretty fun.

How is Darksiders 1 in comparison?

Can you still level up your character in the same way? How about weapons and loot?

What has really surprised me about Darksiders 2 is how fun the combat is. I'm enjoying it a lot. Don't like the fact we get the same shitty music playing in the background over and over again. The music in the introduction was epic. Instead I keep hearing the same boring soundtrack that will put me to sleep if I hear it again in the game(!)

I don't think I am any where near the end of the game but it's such a same THQ went bust. I would have liked a Darksiders III, and I think it could be amazing on the next-gen consoles.
